Hi all,

I am a 37 year-old heterosexual male who was diagnosed with Peyronie's a little over two months ago (10/17/2022) after it appeared four months ago (8/29/2022). I am in a long-term relationship but our sex is not that frequent, maybe once every 2-3 weeks, and I don't recall any injuries or painful sex.

The issue presents as what looks like a dent in the left side of the penis roughly halfway up the shaft, slightly closer to the head than the base. This dent/crook causes the erection to turn left. The maximum angle I've measured is 30 degrees.

I still have not taken any sort of medication to address the condition, for three reasons:

1. I have an excessive fear of taking prescription medication, due to fear of side effects, and I am in psychological therapy to try to address fears like these.

2. The problem doesn't seem to have gotten worse in the past 4 months, and I'm willing to accept my penis in its newly deformed state since I don't have any issues penetrating. It's unfortunate... but given the high bar I have for taking medication, it seems acceptable enough. (Provided it doesn't get worse.)

3. I am having difficulty trusting the opinions of the two urologists I have seen about this issue. Both prescribed me Pentox with Vitamin E. I have read on this forum that "Vitamin E tends to be the vitamin of first recourse for urologists who know little about peyronies."

Urologist 1 said the problem would NOT IMPROVE, but the prescribed Pentox and Vit E would at least prevent it from getting worse.

I wasn't even sure if I should get a second opinion, until I got what seemed like a case of prostatitis, and I used that opportunity to see a different urologist to also discuss Peyronie's. I saw him earlier this week.

So Urologist 2, who along with the Pentox and Vit E also prescribed some Cialis, said that my condition actually could IMPROVE, if I took the medication.

I may start on the Pentox/Cialis soon if only as a way to work on my fear of medication. I live in New York City so seems I should look for a Peyronie's specialist rather than just a standard urologist.

I'd leave to hear your comments/suggestions and thanks for reading!

Side note re: masturbation

I had asked Urologist 1 if masturbation could have caused it. I do use my left hand. He said no.

If I were to guess I would say I've masturbated once every other day for the past 20 years. My penis seems to have always had a slight leftward curve (chicken or egg, did I like using the left hand because of that? Or did repeated lefty masturbation cause it? I wish I knew) and then, that one day in August, I noticed the curve was more like an elbow.  :(

Hi mate, welcome to the club no one wants to join 👍

Thanks for reaching out, there are a lot of good people on here and guys much more experienced than me about this stuff, but I would say you're probably right to be addressing your psychological issues around prescription drugs etc.
I'm sure the therapist will do a much better job of helping on that than I could, but the way I tend to manage that anxiety is acknowledge the risks, then accept my choice to take it no matter the outcome, and remember, even if it went bad (which is highly unlikely) I made that decision for the greater good, and I could never blame myself good or bad.

As for the treatment side of things, if you're happy (or at least accepting) with how things are right now that is great, and from what I understand things can indeed stabilise with our without treatment, and maybe even improve, but I, as someone who takes daily cialis and a bunch of other supplements feel better that I know I'm trying all I can do within the remits of safe and explored territories.

The safety profile for both cialis and pentox are very good and both drugs are extremely well tolerated, mild side effects can occur like they have done for me with cialis from time to time (slight headaches etc nothing crazy) but the chances of long term damage are virtually so slim its not worth thinking about (easier said than done, I know anxiety doesn't work like that so I'm not trying to belittle your concerns, but at the same time I think you have already acknowledged your concerns are from a place of unjustified and unwanted emotional difficulty.)

Either way mate whatever you choose to do, just own it and remember whatever decision you make came from good intent.

Oh and another thing bud, unless you have that "ouch I just slipped out and bent my meat stick on her thigh" moment like some guys get, you'll probably never know how this happened, so try not to obsess over it, the truth is it can just randomly happen to some guys, small unavoidable micro traumas sustained over years is a strong theory, but again, it's not worth investing too much of your time over, I know you feel like knowing how it happened might mean being able to avoid that thing and it not happening again but you'll drive yourself insane trying to play detective over your own penis.

Hey thanks for your thoughtful reply Indenialguy.

I like this mindset:

I noticed from your signature that your first bout of Peyronie's in 2017 healed. How did you go about healing?

Trapper: Thanks, Dr. Eid seems like a good person for surgery if I needed it. Naturally it seems he is trying to push people towards surgery on his site.

From his website: "Currently, no oral agent included in the list above [including pentox] has been shown in clinical trials to be better than a placebo to result in clinically meaningful improvement of penile deformity and curvature." https://www.urologicalcare.com/non-surgical-options/

As much as I'd like to believe that ... since I don't want to take drugs anyway...it seems there is evidence to the contrary posted elsewhere on this board and he has an interest in discouraging medication in order to get more surgery clients.

Bud luck

All surgeons want to do surgery, is how they make their big money. But in part he is right when he said that none of the oral meds are proven to work.
My first symptoms started early in 2019
I tried Traction device, Pentofixiline, Q10, TRT, L-Argenine, cialis
I have narrowing/dent/hinge on the left side of my shaft
My ED is getting worse
Had a PRP shot Aug 2021
I have a girlfriend
Age 46

Yeah I second what bud said. Pentox may offer minor improvement but it is by no means a miracle drug. Personally, I think tadalafil has helped restore my penis shape more than pentox although i've been on it for a month. As Dr. Trost has said the best Non-invasive treatment is Traction. Read Hawks survival guide on peyroies that will give you some valuable info.

Also, please fire your urologist that said masterbating can't cause peyroines I am 100% certain I can contribute my HG/dent deformity to masterbation.
