PDL labs Vs. Compounding pharmacy for verapamil gel

Hey Guys,

Has TOPICAL verapamil worked for you? I've got some and I think it's helping but I am considering reordering verapamil gel from PDL labs instead of my local compounding pharmacy because that is what was used in the following study:

Apparently their formulation is patented and it is 4x the price of the original bottle I bought.

You guys think it is worth reordering? Or have you guys been seeing results from local compounding pharmacies?

I've never heard of topical ANYTHING helping anyone.

Did you see the study? Looks pretty promising. It's $400 for a 3 month supply. I have also heard members say topical didn't do anything and am wondering if that's because they didn't use the formulation that is easily absorbed through the skin and studied.

Trapper, PDLabs was new on the scene back when I got Peyronies Disease in 2002. If you're talking about they study PDLabs funded, well ... of course it's promising. But having been a member of this forum for what, like 20 years, I don't think I've ever heard of anyone report that TV worked for them. That, combined with the expense when obtaining from PDLabs, would prevent me from using it - but if you can afford it, it's not going to hurt you.

Levine did a study years ago that showed that TV couldn't even penetrate to the tunica where the damage from Peyronies Disease occurs, so there's just no solid evidence supporting its usage. And anecdotally, years of experience here have backed that up.

If the cure were that simple, we'd all be using TV, of that you can be assured. But as I say, if you can afford it, give it a shot, it's not going to hurt you.

Good points:( I've been using just a topical verapamil I got from my compounding pharmacy for $77 and I thought it was helping but could just be the placebo effect.

Hey man, regardless, if you're seeing/feeling improvement, go with it. And that's much cheaper than PDLabs, so good for you.
