Pain like January

Hey guys,

About two weeks ago my mom made Christmas cookies, you know the ones you put food coloring in to make them red, green, blue, etc.  Being I've been eating good the last few months I decided to have six cookies.  Yes, six was my limit.  The next day my plaque was super annoying on and off all day!  I haven't felt that way since January, pain.  Other feelings during the year are just slight discomfort here and there.  My guess it had to be the food coloring?  This past weekend I ate the other baked goods she made for Christmas and it was fine today.

Next month is one year since my diagnosis.

Any thoughts?

Hey Frank-

I'm certified as a trainer and nutrition is basically my life so I will weigh in here. I would think the correlation would be more so the amount of sugar and simple carbs- which in turn spike your insulin levels. Ultimately, it creates more inflammation in your body. I do keto and never cheat, ever. It sucks, but I also have the physique to show for it. Clearly I still got pyronies and I can guarantee you that nobody here, or quite possibly in the world (lol) has a diet more on point than mine. Tons of raw and organic vegetables. Only grass fed beef, wild caught salmon, organic chicken, etc. No carbs, no cheat meals, no alcohol or smoking, etc. You get the idea. I do firmly believe I'd be significantly worse off if I didn't have the diet I have now. However, I hope this also goes to show that diet only does so much. I don't personally think anyone here is going to cure pyronies with diet alone. However, it certainly could help your body self heal, promote better blood flow, even create better mental health.

But pyronies or not, a keto diet with tons raw and organic of vegetables is the way to go. It will minimize inflammation in your body.

Hi frankPD
How do you usually eat?
You could test it, eat these cookies again and see if pain comes again

A lot of sugar and carbs and insulin spike = inflammation in the body.

@IwillbeatPD and @ooriw

I understand about the sugar, I've kept myself eating more healthy since September.  On weekends I'd have ice cream that's why I don't think it was sugar.  I've even lost 14lbs from cutting back which I never had a weight problem so I'm being careful.  I've always watched since high cholesterol and triple bypass's are the norm on my father's side.  Just baffled me since I haven't felt that kind of pain since before I started massaging the area.

I thought about eating them again to test it but I'm afraid too.  Maybe tomorrow I'll eat three and will advise.  Also my mom makes these Italian cookies with homemade icing.  I ate those Sunday and I've been fine.

Thanks for the responses, looking forward to more!
