Hello, I just had a second surgery to correct my residual curvature of 30 degrees downwards .
I did it in California with Dr Gelman, it will be a pleasure to help Europeans (like me) or others

I will have to wait a few months before I can say what the final results will be. I don't want to be under any false illusions like I was during my first surgery, and if I won't be present on this forum in the future, I have activated the messages by e-mail. For example, if a French person wants to do the same as me, it would be a real pleasure to help him.

My case :
Dr. Gelman was professional, my case was really particular, I had shared with him the report of my previous surgery and one can say that I was victim of a surgical error.  Dr Gelman was fantastic, he answered all my questions, my English was average, he then took the time to rewrite it all to me by email, but the face to face consultations were more complicated

Indeed the previous doctor (Doctor Faix in France) wrote on the report that he had placed 4 dorsal sutures and 1 lateral right, which was strange because I only felt something on the left.
To the great surprise Gelman found nothing in my penis, he provided me with photo evidence and I have them, just a cluster of surgical tissue on the left side as if a plication was closed on that side, in short it is quite technical I have the report of Dr. Gelman which is much more detailed.
Dr. Gelman spent 3 hours trying to understand what was going on in my penis and then placed 2 dissolvable dorsal sutures

I will make sure that French people avoid this Doctor Faix, another Frenchman of the forum underwent a butchery with him and he also went through Gelman to correct that, and all is well, he will surely come back on the forum to testify
And another one I know had 2 surgeries with him because the first one didn't work

J+12 :
I am now at D+12, my penis still has slight ecchymosis and I have a swelling in the middle of the penis only, the erections are very painful and I sleep very badly

I was wondering about 2 things:

- Is it better to sleep with normal boxers or rather loose underwear? The boxers allow me to calm the erections more easily but I have a feeling that my penis will break at any moment, what do you advise?

- The swelling is really annoying, I managed to get rid of it by wearing a pressure bandage but now I have a swelling in the middle of my penis, where the plications were made, has this happened to you?

The external sutures are still present,
still no blood drop, but I have a kind of opening on the scar, it's quite strange

What worries me the most is the base and the middle of my penis which are swollen and very hard like wood in certain areas...
It's been 3 weeks now, I think it's abnormal... I've never read that on other guys' stories here

This swelling has never gone down since the surgery started, it stresses me out a lot....

Hi. Can't you visit a doctor for that? The will know more than us. You only have to ask.
Good luck!!
60 years old. Peyronie disease since 2020. Upward curve 30 degrees. Thick calcified plaque, dorsal, just beneath glans. 2cm wide, 1cm long. No ED. Except soft glans.

Doctors usually answer "wait and see".
But next week I will do what you said, because the swellings make hard balls/plaques in some places of my penis, it's quite weird

It's been 3 weeks today!
But today the scar also started to swell... I'm starting to despair... I still have all the sutures which must have made my scar swell

I see that some people start to heal well after 3 weeks, but it's the opposite, I still have hard swelling in the penis and the scar has just started to swell, hoping that Dr. Gelman can help me on Monday

Relax

I understand you completely. You had one failed surgery and now you are careful and vigilant. The best option for you is do something else, do all the stuff that will occupy your mind by something else. But with re-do surgery even a small jab makes you sick and crazy. I was convinced 1000000x of times that something went wrong, that I did a mistake and it was probably the most stupid thinking I have ever had in my life. I was wrong. The final result exceeded my expectations.

But Dr Gelman always says: don't have too much expectations, don't seek perfection.

I was in your situation and now I am more than a year after the surgery with Dr Gelman. I am totally straight and until today it is hard to believe for me for having straight penis, I mean - TOTALLY STRAIGHT. After three surgeries. No problems at all. I don't know how Gelman does his surgeries, but it was my 3rd one and I am totally straight - no lenght loss at all, no change in sensivity, no pain, no erection problems. They are even better than before. How? I don't know. Maybe because having a straight penis makes you feel comfortably with yourself? But I am also sure that Dr Gelman is very, very accurate with his cuts and he makes minimal damage to your penis.

About the lenght I understand why Gelman always says that with surgery you can't be shorter because nothing is chopped off. People just don't know and don't realise how the geometry works.

And the most important thing to remember - you are not your penis. Many of men does not have straight penis (just watch some amateur porno) and they have very happy relationships. Because you don't have to be perfect. And many girls don't want from you to be perfect. And you know what? My girls was very surprised when they heard that I decided to correct my penis. They were beautiful, so sexy (just write polish girls in google) and they said to me couple days before the surgery: "don't do it, come back to me!".  ;D

Alex83

Of course I am not looking for perfection, I am only looking for a functional penis

I'm quite stressed because it's the first time that I have hard swelling like patches

- Did you do traction after your surgery for healing?

-Your external sutures had dissolved after how long? How is your scar?

I thank you anyway for your message Mst

I'm registering something similar, correct me if I'm thinking wrong.

The plication stitches, in my case, are four on the dorsal side. Then the stitches on the sides, because the neurovascular bundle was sutured there (a case of ventral curvature).

So in my case it looks like this: the first few centimeters of the shaft is soft, flexible, there are no stitches, then the middle of the shaft is the least flexible, stiff, because both plication stitches and side stitches meet there, then the top of the shaft is also stiffer but less than the middle because there are only side stitches if you understand.

I have pics before surgery and there you can see a big difference in how I was able to stretch the penis at flaccid. Now I'm far from that state, but it's mainly because the middle and top is hardly stretching. Overall it is also thicker at rest, again due to the stitches and slight swelling (10 weeks post-op). So I'm hoping that once the stitches dissolve, flexibility will be restored somehow.

I should also mention that after a few hours with phallosan it is better, the stiffness improves a little.

4 weeks today, I am healing well, I saw my dermatologist a few days ago,
He advised me to use a cream for the bumps which are probably fibrosis and it works well, they have diminished
For the scar I take baths and apply vaseline to make the sutures fall quickly because my body rejects the sutures hence the swelling

I even heal too well:

I ejaculated twice:
I explain myself I had an ejaculation in the night a few years ago which woke me up but without pain

And today I had an ejaculation in the daytime, I was lying in my bed and I had a strong erection, I didn't do nothing , it was so pleasant that I ejaculated, I did not even know that it was possible to ejaculate without touching his penis. I don't know if I should inform the doctor, I didn't have any pain

Negative point:
My penis is leaning to the left, I don't know why, my penis seems to be leaning more than curved to the left, it's quite weird

A hyaluronic acid cream, I can then use it on my scar when the sutures have fallen out

More than 5 weeks have passed, it's not going well. I am mentally exhausted
My penis is still swollen and curved left erect and flaccid compared to before the surgery. I have pictures before, during and after the surgery confirming this. My penis breaks down into 2 distinct penises like an hourglass

On top of that Dr. Gelman does not answer me, I really hope that these swellings cause this curvature, I do not feel able to undergo a new surgery, I am at the end, I have invested so much time and financial means for 3 years now ...

Hi Alex, that does not sound too good :-( hope you get better soon!

Are you still in the US or did you go back to France pretty soon after the surgery? Did the french insurance pay for the surgery?

Thank you, I returned to France 1 week after the surgery, no insurance did not cover it, I paid everything out of my pocket

I really think you have to wait until the swelling goes down before making any judgement. Why can't you get some support from a general practitioner or so. Jus give it more time.

You have to wait full 6 months to see your final result. In my case I realised it is 100000000% true.

I was a little bit curved to the right after the surgery, about 10 degrees - Dr Gelman told me to relax and wait full 6 months. He said it was the reason of inflammation of the penis and people with redo have greater tendency to inflammation, because they have had surgery/surgeries in the past.

When 6 months have passed, I was (and still I am) completely straight.

6 weeks it is too soon. You have to wait full 6 months. 6 weeks equals 42 days, but 6 months equals 180 days.

I always said that surgery is not a problem - but waiting and waiting is the hardest part of this drama. Your surgery does not last only one day - it lasts 180 days.

BTW - flaccid doesn't count at all. Full erect only. It's way too early to judge because you still can be completely straight when 6 months have passed.

And one can have perfectly straight penis right after the surgery and couple weeks later but in the end he could be curved after 6 months. It is all about healing process and the healing process lasts 6 months.

Alex83

Thanks for your reassuring answer
I have 30 degrees to the left and 10 to the top at the moment I would say, And my erections are stuck against my stomach
Knowing that before I had a slight curvature to the left,
Hopefully it will get better once the swelling goes down

It would really bother me to have a second surgery with Gelman like you..
I also have the feeling that I caused my problem: I had many strong erections (4 wet dreams) and I was compressing my penis to reduce the swelling...

And then during my first surgery, the swelling had remained for a long time, the downward curvature was visible from my first erections and never left
I fear that the same thing will happen to me

- After how long did your inflammation/swelling reduce?

I have passed the 7 weeks, I have not published for 2 weeks because things have not evolved except for the swelling which has decreased

I was able to see 2 French urologists, 1 thinks that the fibrosis is present and causes my new curvature on the left, 1 other thinks that a suture broke. Both advise a new surgery but not yet.

In my personal opinion, my penis is still hard and swollen making it lean to the left when my penis is flaccid
I think this is causing me to rotate to the left when erect,

I'm convinced that the left rotation I have causes my rotation when my penis is hard. Hopefully when my penis deflates and is less hard, the rotation will disappear.

Has anyone had a similar case? Or what do you think?

Hi,

have you tried phallosan or any other extender and try to stretch the left side more than the right?

If it's just swelling and scarring you should see a change quickly...

Thanks for your answer Citron!
Gelman doesn't recommend any traction but I have started manual traction to stretch my left side
I have a phallosan Forte but I hate the device and I am more comfortable with my hands

Did you notice a slight residual curvature after your surgery with Kuehhas?

I also have a slight curvature upwards and my erection is very rigid, my penis remains stuck to my belly

Hi,

I know that wearing Phallossan can be annoying (even though it is one of the most comfortable extenders), but the advantage is that you can control the force of the pull. Manually you don't know if you're applying a force of a few kg or less, I'd say it's actually more dangerous, I'd just take it as a supplement and concentrate mainly on the extender. Eventually you get used to it and the time of wearing it is also important.

I have curvature upwards, my guess is about 10-20 degrees otherwise is straight.
Most record that after a year or as soon as the stitches dissolve, a minor return to the original state happens, so I may end up completely straight..

Otherwise though, it's still not flexible like it used to be, if I only wear it on one side it will curve there.

D-63 :

Week 9 today, I still have that strong left rotation in erection and flaccid

Gelman told me to wait 6 months and we will advise for a possible surgery or not, he suspects the breakage of an old lateral suture placed by my previous surgeon, but the first surgeon performs only plications WITH incision/excision like Nesbit or Yachia

So I don't necessarily believe in this hypothesis, here is what I think: my penis is extremely hard on the left side only, I suppose that is what causes my rotation to the left and upwards in erection but also flaccid

Is my hypothesis possible?
Because what I feel is really flagrant, a local urologist was able to observe it, it corresponds to postoperative fibrosis
Has anyone noticed this during a surgery?

I have an MRI scheduled for the end of the month

Here is what I feel (the red part corresponds to the very hard area on my penis):
https://ibb.co/pxzjHNj

And here is what I think it causes according to me: a strong rotation to the left flaccid of almost 45 degrees :
https://ibb.co/hyW7ys6

According to You, this strong rigidity and this very hard zone can cause my curvature in erection too?

To explain my hypothesis: it is almost impossible to rotate my flaccid penis to the right because of the hard areas on the left, I hope that this is also what causes my rotation in erection. I also hope that these hard areas will disappear.

Can my hypothesis be plausible?
