I hope it is OK to reply to this thread even though it is a year old but I am reading a lot of info here that seems to be the opposite of where I am in my new implant journey. I had a Titan installed exactly two weeks ago. I go to tomorrow to see my doctor for the two week followup. Pain has all be pretty normal from what I read here but some one thing very abnormal and that is glans engorgement. Before my implant, I had hard night erections off and on all night. These were mainly due to a 5mg Cialis daily for prostatitis. The night erections like all my erections since ED were short lived but at least they were rigid and the glans fully engorged. Now two weeks following implant, I still have the sensation of an erection in the middle of the night but it's just a sensation. I reach down expecting an erect or semi erect penis but there us nothing and no glans engorgement at all. I'm hoping this is due to being only two weeks post surgery but it's still very disappointing. My implant was for both ED and Peyronie's and during the implant surgery, the doctor corrected the Peyronie's issue so that now instead of 35 degrees upward, it is as straight as before Peyronie's. The doctor also left me partially inflated to help reduce scar tissue from forming and causing the bend again. I've had an 80% erection for two weeks and I can hardly wait to have it flaccid. The discomfort from tight bicycle shorts pushing against the glans has been very difficult. It feels like the tubes are going to go through the skin. I'm very interested in hearing if all you guys out there still get glans engorgement from arousal with or without pumping up. Thanks.

Dbl,
1. Please add a signature to your posts, so we know your age, implant date, who did surgery, etc. it makes it easier for responses.
2. I am surprised that you are healing so fast, that you are off pain meds? And even thinking about glans engorgement.
3. Are you a young guy? How old are you?
4. I am thinking back, but I don't think my glans engorgement came back until I was off the pain pills. Which coincidentally was about the time I was approved to have sex.
5. Are you still taking pain pills?
6. I think it might be too early to think about sex, lol, but if you do and you are not on any pain pills, I would think you should experience engorgement.
7. Medications can have different effects on people. Are you taking Gabapentin or similar drugs that deaden nerve response?
8. I am thinking it's too soon, but it will be interesting to hear what others say.
Best wishes,

I guess I did leave out a lot of info so here goes. I am 65 years old and had this implant installed 2 weeks ago on November 9th. Prior to the implant I had some ED but it was the Peyronie's that convinced me to go with an implant. The Peyronie's started about a year ago and came out of the blue. It caused a 35 degree dorsal curve. I tried VED and Restorex twice daily but the curvature didn't improve. I know 35 degrees is not a lot but my wife is very tiny so sex was uncomfortable and trying to deal with it caused the ED to become more and more of a problem. I considered Xiaflex but with my age and the ED, an implant was my best choice. I live outside of Indianapolis and after some doctor research, I chose Dr. Helen Bernie. She does 200+ implants per year so I felt comfortable with her. I spoke to about 8 of her past patients and according to them, she walked on water. So far, I have no issues with her or the surgery. I only needed pain meds for the first 3 days and the remainder of time it's not been too bad. Bruising is almost gone now. My biggest complaint has been leaving the surgery with the implant inflated. That has been more uncomfortable than anything. She left it inflated due to the scoring she did around the plaque area that was causing the dorsal curve. She said the implant being inflated would allow it to heal so the scar tissue would heal straight. I went back in to see her nurse practitioner this past Tuesday and she released the implant pressure by about 10% or so. That has helped the discomfort in the tip or glans but has made the penis pretty darn sore the last couple of days. I assume it's due to the scaring and such around the tubes. The implant used was a Titan and the size used was 18cm with a 2cm extension. I'm very concerned about the loss of length but I'm taking it all a day at a time. Once I start cycling the device twice a day and using the VED, things will work out. At least the penis will work and it's very straight now. That's my story. I hope it makes better sense now. Any comments, suggestions, or guidance will be very much appreciated.

Dbl,
Thanks for all the information.
If you read other posts by other implant patients, you will find that healing and use of an implant is a marathon and not a sprint.
You should recover most of your length if not gain.
You have a long but very rewarding road ahead of you.
It sounds like your progress is normal, but of course we all heal at different rates.
When will your doctor deflate completely?
There is a process with inflating and increasing your length. This will start after you are cleared for inflating and deflating.
Best wishes.

Dbl - if you had glans engorgement before implant you should have it after, so long as yours was a "normal" surgery.  Not sure what your Dr discussed with you, but the implant cylinders are placed in your cavernosa (and damage the tissue) so you will not be able to have a natural erection any longer (night time or otherwise).  You may still get some engorgement of your spongiosum in conjunction with your glans but most likely not enough for penetration, etc.  My Dr kept me about 75% inflated for the first 2 weeks after surgery, which sucked but a year or so out, things are much better.  Good luck to you.
