Well I hope this helps anyone considering surgery. I was diagnosed almost 18 months ago with peyronies and have been getting aquatinted with my new penis ever since. It sucks! Especially if you've had a good sex life and just got married after being diagnosed. Those are some of my reasons for having the surgery on top of I'm relatively young at 54 and if there is a surgery to potentially fix it...then why not?? I can only give you updates as far as I've come with my surgery which was 11-23-22. I've had some surgeries, serious surgeries like a spinal fusion and neck surgery for spinal stenosis. This surgery scared me to the point where I wanted to put my clothes back on, rip out the IV get dressed and run home..run home. Don't run home and don't second guess your decision. If you've made it to the hospital or surgery center then your doing the right thing for you now just relax breathe and get yourself straightened out..lol. My surgery lasted 2.5 hours and i was up two hours after surgery and discharged 45 minutes later. Everybody is different in how they handle pain(pain threshold)but after surgery I had more discomfort because of swelling than pain. I got home and used an ice pack right away for swelling. I got in bed and pretty much stayed there for two days until I could remove the bandage and shower. Just an fyi when removing the bandage you might want to wet it at the tip a little because more than likely it's stuck to your skin and stitches with dried blood. Removing the bandage has been the hardest thing so far aside from wanting to run out of the hospital before surgery. I am very swollen and my stitches are rubbing in my boxer briefs gauze is helpful and doesn't stick like you'd think it would.

I'm five days out from surgery and I'm still pretty swollen.I've been icing often and just started a low dose of Cialis.I started getting nocturnal erections a couple days ago and with all the swelling it just feels like more pressure not really an erection. I've taken one Oxy since I've been home so pain is minimal but discomfort is .....discomforting!

I'm ten days out from surgery and still very swollen although some of the swelling has gone away. I stopped taking Cialis because my doctor wanted me to have a few more days of healing but I'll start in a couple days. The nocturnal erections are pretty bad some nights very painful with nerve pain spreading out to scrotum. The Oxy does help but after the pain wakes me up i don't always take another which would help.My urination is fine and has been the whole time my areas of concern are the swelling, the stitches which are healing, the sensitivity/numbness of my penis especially the tip and obviously if it's straight and if I can get a full erection. Unfortunately I wont know either of these until I'm healed more.Just an fyi before surgery I could get a full erection but with the onset of peyronnies it wasn't as full and always felt restricted probably because of the scar tissue.

I'm sixteen days out from surgery and the swelling is finally going down noticeably. I started back on 5mg Cialis a few days ago so we'll see what happens. My incisions are healing but still a little drainage but I'm wearing jeans for work so that's not helping. My sensitivity at the head of my penis is very sensitive especially the lips at my pee hole(they look like a tiny pair of lips)I'm using Aquaphor to help with the skin healing. There is what looks like an inner tube at the top of my penis where the foreskin is and it's not as swollen but still big. I take Oxy before bed to help with the nocturnal erections and I won't lie they are painful but I'm happy that I can feel myself having an erection. I've got more healing to do but everything seems to be moving in the right direction.

I'm a few days from being one month post op. The swelling is pretty much gone except for the inner tube looking thing around the circumcision area of my penis. That's still swollen and sensitive along with the tip of my penis. I called the doctor and asked if he could call me in some prescription strength Lidocaine. He said the sensitivity at the tip is normal because of inflammation not nerve damage. I go see him in a couple weeks so I'll make sure to confirm that and try and get a timeframe on when the inner tube will be gone. The nocturnal erections aren't as painful but will still wake you up if you don't take pain meds before you go to sleep. The wife gave me a long sensual kiss the other day and my erection was right there somewhat painful but I was happy nonetheless to see it rise up! I can see where my graft is and one thing I've noticed is my penis feels thicker and heavier when I'm not erect. I'm not sure about length because I still have the inner tube and my erections aren't completely full yet. I haven't looked at it naked while I've had an erection so I don't even know what it looks like erect, it might be time to inspect with the wife's help and some Oxy. I'm still having a hard time getting comfortable in jeans or underwear because of the sensitivity at the tip and the swelling of the inner tube. I always have to use a soft cloth or something as a barrier in my boxer briefs to help with the irritation.

Hey there,

What do you mean you still have the "inner tube". Usually in a PEG there would be no tube implanted. Can you clarify?
Fit 37 year old athlete. Hinging and hourglass began Sep 2022. Tried VED, Restorex, tadalafil with no improvement. Implanted by Dr Hakky 11/28/23 with Titan touch XXL 26 cm no RTE's. Pre op 8.25Lx 5ish G. Post implant: 8.25 L x 5.5 G

Don't be alarmed I don't have an inner tube implanted...at least I hope not! I discussed in an earlier thread that I have swelling that looks like an inner tube around the penis where I was cut. The area in question is also the same area where your circumcision was done as a child, the skin there is different than the rest of your penis. All of that area is still swollen and sensitive.

I'm two days from being 5 weeks post-op and I'm still healing of course. The nocturnal erections aren't as painful and I pretty much don't need to take Oxy anymore. The graft on my penis seems to be flatter and less noticeable. The sensitivity at the tip of my penis seems to be getting better, I haven't had to wrap it in gauze for a few days now but I still use Lidocaine as needed. The inner tube looking ring around my penis is still hanging on and this is bothering me. The part of it that's still swollen and deformed is on the underside of my penis but it's been swollen and on the underside this whole time and doesn't seem to be shrinking fast enough...ugh! I still don't know how straight I am or how much length I've lost if any or what it looks like fully erect. I don't think I'll know until I'm having sex that's the reason we do this so we can resume a normal sex life. I've got an apptmnt in a couple weeks so I'll get some answers to all my questions and find out if I need to do any therapy moving forward. The only therapy that was instructed before my apptmnt was the daily dose of Cialis.

It's great, you are healing well!
Do you still have your sutures around the glans?

I'm a couple days from being six weeks post-op and I'm healing and improving every week. My penis sensitivity seems to be going away that started to happen between the fourth and fifth week. The foreskin swelling(inner tube) is still hanging on but my wife thinks it's getting smaller and on that note she told me the other day as I was getting out of the shower and looking me up and down that my penis looked fuckable! I think she's wanting a sample of the goods but it's too early and I still have the foreskin issue. My biggest issue right now is the swollen foreskin but everything else is headed in the right direction.

Working on week number 8 post op. I saw the Doctor a few days ago and he said I'm healing normally. The swelling(inner tube) around my foreskin is normal. He said he cut through Lymphocytes and they have to grow back before the swelling goes away. He also said my surgery had some complexities but nothing he hadn't seen before. My hour glassing was at the base and my curve was in a couple different directions. I'm still sensitive but much better he said I might still be swollen at my next appointment but that's normal. He gave the green light to have sex when I want. He said I won't be able to measure my length loss/gain until I'm completely healed and he doesn't want me using a VAC or any device until he says so.I'm healing and hopeful I can resume normal sexual activity soon.

This is an interesting thread and glad to see that things are moving in the right direction.

You listed the surgery as PEG (Plaque Excision and Grafting)....did your surgeon actually do an excision of the plaque or did they do PIG (Plaque incision and grafting)? Surgery is scary stuff but it's more scary to think of life with a bent d!ck.

Best of luck on your journey and please keep us posted.

I'm almost 10 weeks post-op and yes the Doctor removed scar tissue from my penis. I'm still swollen around my foreskin but it has decreased a little, I'll admit not enough to make me feel like I'm healing normally. We took a shot at sex a week ago and it didn't go well. My penis wasn't 100% hard but hard enough for penetration which would have been fine except my swollen foreskin got in the way but I made sure she got off even if I couldn't. I was sore around my foreskin for a couple days but I'm satisfied we tried and got that first one out of the way. On a good note as far as I can tell I was pretty straight and not very long but girthy. I'm still getting weird sensations in my penis so I'll assume that's healing taking place. When we try again I'll take a cialis and maybe wait for this foreskin issue to get better. I have another appointment at the end of February so hopefully I'll be further along in my recovery. If my penis is hard enough, long enough to stay in positions then I will consider the surgery a complete success....we'll see!

I'm working on week 11 post-op and no real change. I still have swelling in my foreskin more towards the underside of my penis and it's been hanging on.The tip of my penis looks like a mushroom a little. We tried a second attempt at sex and it didn't work. The swelling in my foreskin makes it hard to penetrate and I'm pretty sore after. So I'm in a hold pattern until I see the Doctor in a couple weeks.I'm not sure if I'm still healing or I'm as good as I'm gonna be.I'm trying to be patient but this is hard because I'm healed enough to want sex but not able to close the show. As always I make sure I take care of her so at least one of us gets some relief.

I'm almost 12 weeks post-op and I feel like I'm as good as Im gonna get. Just to recap with the onset of Peyronnies my sex life completely changed and even though I could penetrate with my crooked and misshapen penis it's ...weird to say the least. My wife and I had a sexual relationship before peyronnies so it makes it that much more...weird.I can't get hard enough to penetrate and I'm very short on length(could be because I can't get a full erection) but maybe a little more girth post surgery. I still have a problem with my foreskin being swollen and not flat like it was pre-surgery. These are all risks associated with surgery so I'm disappointed but I'm going to try and fix this until I'm told I've exhausted all my options. At my next Doctors appointment I will be discussing implant surgery and any options available to me.After living with Peyronnies for a couple years before surgery I knew I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with very limited sexual function if there was a possible solution and I still feel the same way.I'm keeping my head up(no pun intended) and you do the same.

I haven't posted in a while but I'm still documenting. I'm about 5 months post op and unfortunately I'm not better. My surgery was more extensive requiring a graft for narrowing and he straightened me out. The issues I have now are my penis is shorter but the girth seems to be the same or bigger. I also have excess skin and tissue that makes up my foreskin which makes sex uncomfortable. The doppler shows my blood flow is better but because the penis is shorter now and I have the extra tissue and skin penetration is difficult. We have talked about an implant which seems to be my last stop.I want to say I should've never had surgery because I'm worse now but I wasn't good before. I want to say I should have went with an implant to begin with but the doctor would never do that to start with in my case because my blood flow was good and I didn't have problems with erections. So I am where I'm supposed to be with the choices I made.If I can get an implant hopefully that will give me some length back and I'll be better than I am now but not before peyronnies. Clarification on my issues now:short penis, penis no longer straight, erections are a problem and finally I have extra tissue around my foreskin which the doctor says was a result of how I healed which I think was my fault because I started wearing jeans uncomfortably while I was still pretty swollen.
