Well I hope this helps anyone considering surgery. I was diagnosed almost 18 months ago with peyronies and have been getting aquatinted with my new penis ever since. It sucks! Especially if you’ve had a good sex life and just got married after being diagnosed. Those are some of my reasons for having the surgery on top of I’m relatively young at 54 and if there is a surgery to potentially fix it…then why not?? I can only give you updates as far as I’ve come with my surgery which was 11-23-22. I’ve had some surgeries, serious surgeries like a spinal fusion and neck surgery for spinal stenosis. This surgery scared me to the point where I wanted to put my clothes back on, rip out the IV get dressed and run home..run home. Don’t run home and don’t second guess your decision. If you’ve made it to the hospital or surgery center then your doing the right thing for you now just relax breathe and get yourself straightened out..lol. My surgery lasted 2.5 hours and i was up two hours after surgery and discharged 45 minutes later. Everybody is different in how they handle pain(pain threshold)but after surgery I had more discomfort because of swelling than pain. I got home and used an ice pack right away for swelling. I got in bed and pretty much stayed there for two days until I could remove the bandage and shower. Just an fyi when removing the bandage you might want to wet it at the tip a little because more than likely it’s stuck to your skin and stitches with dried blood. Removing the bandage has been the hardest thing so far aside from wanting to run out of the hospital before surgery. I am very swollen and my stitches are rubbing in my boxer briefs gauze is helpful and doesn’t stick like you’d think it would.
