Meeting with Urologist made me more confused about using a VED

So I recently had an appointment at a Urologist and I asked him about suing a VED, and he said that I should stay away from it since he had seen patients who messed up and damaged themselves beyond repair.

He also said that I should consider myself lucky since I do not have much of a curve, so I can still penetrate during sex. But I have hourglassing? I refuse to accept that it will stay like this, I wanna fix it and I think it all I have left, I have done some traction but it only makes narrowing worse for me.

Feel kinda hopeless now and I do not know what to do. Any advice how to move forward from here?

does this urologist have a lot of experience on Peyronies Disease?
i can tell you already that you will find a lot of contradictions about this disease
on this forum alone there are many people that found success with VED and many that damaged themselves
i had both success and damage, so...
if you want to know my hopinion, if you can have confortable sex and you don't have erection problems probably just wait a little and accept the new shape of the penis, it's probably not as bad as you think right now
if you have erection problems instead try some VERY light VED, without pumping to max erection
even tho you don't see immediate result it will probably have effects on the long term
20 yo, Peyronies Disease 2020(55 degrees down) + congenital curve
loss of length, stable erection, sensation. hourglassing
antioxidants, hyaluronic acid injected & oral, maybe Yachia in future
Recently started VED 2x a week
Still wants sex and a relationship

Hey man thanks a lot for your response, well I do not have ED my erections are fine. I do experience some pain though if I masturbate for too long. But its just hard to accept that my penis has changed, I want to be normal again so bad! And I feel like that I have to do something to fix it, but I am also afraid to damage like you said did yourself. Hope you are better now though.

Sorry to hear that man!! I'm afraid I also made it worse doing traction by hand, and I did not even do it for a long time!! But there must be something we can do?

VED has helped a lot of people, especially the 3 Cylinder. It can be effective for hourglassing. But, as your urologist said, there are also a lot of people who have injured themselves further.

You'll find a mix of reviews on this forum.

I had the same issue as you in the beginning, mostly hourglassing, slight curvature, no ED... It unfortunately progressed to major hourglassing and a twist, and ED.

I do recommend that you start Pentox, Cialis daily, and maybe VED, just be very very cautious when using it and follow the protocols here, never pump to full erection etc and use at your own risk.

Best of luck,
J

Hey bro, I say leave it alone.  I considered other options and decided not too.  We always want a quick fix when this initially happens and there isn't any.  My condition really hasn't changed in 11 months so I choose to wait and see.  My erections are a bit softer but that could be psychological.  I'm Just doing everything I can naturally to try and help myself.  That is the fallowing:

Low carb diet (I've actually lost 10lbs but I've never had a weight problem so I'm being careful)
No porn
No masturbating (also been over 50 days)
Avoid sitting for long periods of time
More sleep
Drinking more water
Less coffee
Breathing exercises for less stress

Maybe try these, every case is different.  One thing doesn't work for everyone. Also, if you're gonna masturbate, lube is a must!

Be well.
I have a girlfriend
Age 47, No injury

Hourglassing when flaccid and semi-erect
Only have my congenital curve
Massaging with vitamin E cream twice a day
5mg Tadalafil, Healthy diet
Discomfort/aching sometimes

Hey man thank you for the advice, and yes I have read a lot of posts in here and it's obvious that it is really beneficial for some people but at the time it can make your situation worse. So I'm kinda afraid to do so. And regarding Pentox and Cialis, my urologist did not even mention that so I'm sure I could get a prescription for that.

Have you had any success abstaining from mastrubation and porn so far? I'm
dealing with a porn addiction and I can manage one week without it and then I fall back. I really want to go on a long break and see if it would improve my condition. Just let the penis heal completely. I did try a low carb diet but it was very difficult to maintain. I just hope there will be some improvement soon cause this situation is really making me depressed.

im sorry to be the one to tell you but it's hard that you will have an improvement soon
improvements in this situation take time and patience. wanting something soon might put you in the wrong mindset.
if you are depressed try talking about it and metabolizing your grief. don't act on your emotions in order to get an instant improvement because there is probably no way to do it

also personally i don't recommend a low carb diet. as a med student i think it's very easy to eat a lot of saturated fat and cholesterol on a low carb diet and that's like terrible for cardiovascular health (and general health). CV health is essential for firm erections (and for, you know, not dying prematurely)

Actually I haven't had any noticeable change besides a stronger morning erection here and there.  As 20yo said, it's gonna take a whole lot of time.  When I started all of this, I knew it was gonna be months before I saw any improvement if any at all.  I'm hoping for the best.  Try to cut the porn out, if you're gonna masturbate, lube is a must.

All the best!

Sorry for the late reply!! Well better morning ercetions is a good thing. I just feel kinda hopeless right now, nothing is improving I really hope it will change over time. Seeing your own penis losing size is a nightmare. I'm getting really dark thoughts to be honest.

Its almost been a year now and there has been some improvemnts but also worsening so yeah, its just really hard to deal with. I need to get my life and health back on track cause this whole thing has made me depressed!

The problem with traction or any vacuum device is that whilst it does have the ability to help with peyronie's it equally has the ability to cause injury and pelvic floor issues like hard flaccid in some people.

Its a difficult balance to get right.

@DaveAlexander

I just replied with this in a post last night (Wednesday)...

I realized yesterday that eating definitely makes a difference!  I ate for Thanksgiving, especially the pies, sweets and Cool Whip.   Took it easy Friday but the weekend I snacked on the pies more than I would normally and on Monday and Tuesday my plaque was annoying.  Hasn't been that way in so long!  I couldn't figure out why but then it hit me that I ate more those days then I'm used too.  It must be making a difference, today the plaque wasn't that bad.  I will continue to monitor it.

To add today, Thursday, the plaque wasn't an issue!

That is fascinating man, I'm sure the diet means a lot! I guess you just have to figure out what works for you, I'm also very conscious about what I eat and I try to eat clean most of the time. Lots of good meats and veggies and fruit. I try to stay away from refined carbs like white bread and pasta. Please keep me posted about this! All the best.

I don't know if diet will shrink plaque or help hourglassing, a few have had success/claimed but it IMO helped it from being annoying.  Only answer I can think of!

Will keep you posted!

My urologist actually recommended VED, although he didn't have an answer on what causes peyronie's or narrowing. He did an ultrasound of my penis and found some "radial struts" of fibrous tissue that he thought could be expanded by the VED. So i'm using it 2x per day now, plus pentoxyfilline and cialis 5mg to help w blood circulation. I'm not sure if it is making things better but i think it helps w erection quality. I got my first symptoms in 2019 so i am no longer in acute phase. If you are in acute phase, i would be very careful about any treatment option and be very gentle. I think i injured myself and made the narrowing worse by using the PMP too aggressively during the acute phase. Good luck!
Age 37. First symptoms Jan 2019. Small (4mm) calcified plaque near head, and narrowing near plaque, last 1/3 of shaft. Used pentox for 1 year. Still using tadalafil 5mg, coq10. VED & mild traction helping w/ erection quality
