Hi,

Just recently (3 weeks ago) I began to lose girth and develop an indent on the left side/bottom of my penis just below my glans (see pictures). There is currently no curve that I can see. I have been experiencing discomfort only when erect for 3 months now. No known injury to the area.

I have been to my general practitioner and we both agree that there is a small module that can be felt in the area. He was unwilling to provide much insight on cause and/or diagnosis, or any treatment and has referred me to a local urologist. However, I'm still 4 weeks away from the scheduled appointment. I'm hoping you may be able to provide some insight, as the unknown is causing me some serious stress, much like others on this forum.

1) Would these be typical symptoms indicative of Peyronie's? Are there other possible causes I should push to have looked at by the urologist?

2) Should I be pushing my GP to start treatment in some other facet than the oral supplements mentioned here?

3) Is traction/RestoreX recommended this early, or wait until it stabilizes, or until I see the urologist?

3) Is sex with my wife fine at this point as long as we are careful?

4) Do you know of any well-informed doctors in the British Columbia or Washington State area that you could recommend?

Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support on this forum.

1) Would these be typical symptoms indicative of Peyronie's? Are there other possible causes I should push to have looked at by the urologist?

I can't view the images as they require a photobucket account. I can say, each condition is generally different. Some have dents, some have hard plaque, some have curvature but show no plaques on ultrasound etc. Generally, if you have curvature, some form of deformity, and/or erectile dysfunction, you may have peyronies. There are other conditions such as Mondors disease (google it), which may mimic peyronies symptoms. Always best to see a urologist and get a diagnosis, try to find one that specialises in peyronies

2) Should I be pushing my GP to start treatment in some other facet than the oral supplements mentioned here?

There is a list of recommended supplements on this site which you can take, I think the most effective have been COq10, ALCAR, and Citrulline. The recommended medications which have helped some are pentox/trental, and Cialis daily 5mg, you will need a doctor to prescribe these, usually a urologist. I know most people here have not had success with oral medications, but I think there is a study on Cialis daily prevent/reversing fibrosis in the penis.  I personally found that Cialis daily and Pentox restored my erectile function, improved some girth, and helped with nocturnal erections. There is also a study on Tamoxifen, although, I believe most users here did not find any benefit.

3) Is traction/RestoreX recommended this early, or wait until it stabilizes, or until I see the urologist?

I believe, it is recommended to start traction/VED as soon as possible. Be cautious of the risks involved, many people here have injured themselves further. I have been using RestoreX for months and it is very easy to apply too much tension. I think for dents/hourglassing VED is usually more effective, and for just curvature; counter-bending with RestoreX is more effective. However, many people have found benefit in traction/VED regardless of the type of deformity.

3) Is sex with my wife fine at this point as long as we are careful?

I think this depends on your condition. For me, I found that, slow cautious sex in missionary is okay. Try to stay away from girl on top position and any rough sex for now, until you have seen a urologist.

4) Do you know of any well-informed doctors in the British Columbia or Washington State area that you could recommend?

There is a list of recommended doctors on this site somewhere. You can try doing a post up for members from that area.

Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support on this forum.
