Hello. Im 37, my first urology appointment is next week. After ten or so years without a php I started seeing a primary care dr. in May and was referred for an orthopedic consultation for an abnormality in my right hand. Id assumed it was a callus from holding a knife, working in kitchens for 20 years. Around mid June I found out it is dupuytrens contracture. The ortho told me a little about dupuytrens, its a bilateral disorder and could show up in my foot on the same side and or penis. Ive had some sexual health concerns before like uti and some std scares, but never noticed any kind of growth or bend. In early July I felt a strange pressure like a buildup or something during sex. While urinating afterwards I felt at the base something like a cheerio sized lump between the urethera and tissue on the bottom. I couldnt feel it on the top but it seemed like it would wrap around. I had a dr. apt. 10 days later and just waited it out. During the visit I wasnt comfortable showing her my penis, which Ill have to get over pretty quick I guess. I took it out and kind of covered up with my hand. she wasnt able to feel anything from the couple seconds of contact. The mass isnt noticeable unless im hard or close to erect. Im very uncomfortable with my junk being out in that situation which is embarrassing. It seems to be stretching outward up the shaft. My sex drive has dropped to nothing. The first few weeks were a little off from nervousness but I dont even think about sex at this point. No erections either. I feel horrible about not having relations with my girlfriend and could use some advice on how to maybe make something happen there. Ive tried talking about the growth or whatever it is with pretty much everyone I know but nobody seems to stick to the conversation. Feeling very alone. Anyway... appointment is just around the corner. Thats my story.  Feel free to respond with anything.

Welcome Ericf1984 to the forum. Thank you for filling our your signature line. Dupuytrens contracture has been noted to cause peyronies so this is where you got yours.

You should never be ashamed of talking about your penis to a qualified DR because they have usually seen and heard it all. You need to educate yourself more about peyronies and different treatments before you go into your next Dr appointment . Here is the link about our survival guide -->https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3180.msg44057.html#msg44057 . I might also add that your Dr should do a free Testosterone test on you to see where your hormone levels sit. No erections at all needs to be investigated. Anxiety also squelches our erection capabilities.

In this forum you should feel free to ask/talk about your penis or sex life with other members to receive help - as that is what this forum was initially set up for. You will not receive much information elsewhere - even from the majority of urologists out there. You need to stop worrying and get a correct diagnosis then form a treatment plan. There is VED therapy and traction therapy along with other things that you can do. Remember though that this journey is a marathon and not a sprint.  :)  Mikel7

Hello Ericf1984,

Exactly what Mike17 said.  We all at some point felt the same way.

This is a very safe place for us to talk about anything going on down there.  It's full of support, can't imagine having Peyronies without this great group.

Use the search tab, it's so accurate and to the point.  Go through the threads.  There's more info here than you will ever get from googling.

Be well.

If you don't feel comfortable with a female urologist, then find and go to a male. You have to find a urologist you are comfortable with.

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. It was really nice to see the responses when i logged in. So...Went to the urologist and i didnt really find a good line of communication. wasnt happy with the visit...so on. I did some studying and experimenting and for the first time noticed the curve. i took a picture and i believe to have about 10 degrees. My next apt. is at end of november. I should call and let him know that there is a curve? He wants to give me an injection to achieve erection at the next visit to see whats going on. I need to do more reading. been lazy about this but if i can prevent any more change id be content with things the way they are. whew.

it started with just a lump, so sudden the curve showed up after. I was at 10 degrees when i saw the urologist in mid December. only bent to the left. going into february the curve turned upward. it seemed like overnight. i rarely have spontaneous erections anymore, sometimes more than a week without. woke up with roughly a 30 to 45 curve up and slightly to the left. Ive adjusted restorex to compensate downward , original setting. seems to be helping. been using restorex for a few weeks now and will continue to do so. im using it once a day for 30 mins. there seems to be alot of damaged tissue in there and im not really sure what to expect from this. just starting to normalize the condition as part of my life. the first 6 months going through this friggin stunned me. hault to what of my life could be considered normal.

We've all been there bro.  Keep yourself busy, stay positive.  Talk about it with one of your best friends.  Talking with my friend I had since second grade helped so much along with the men here.

Be well.
