Daxos

Hello forum,

I've registered here in the hopes of getting some insights from the members here.
My name is Daxos (not my real one of course) and I am almost 26 years old.

Do I have Peyronie's? I don't know yet. I once became extremely afraid of Peyronies Disease when I for whatever reason found out about my congenital curve. You read that right, I suddenly one day realized I was never a straight shooter.
Turned out I never had Peyronies Disease, but just had a congenital curve. It is an extreme one though, about 45 degrees to the left and down as well. It has never hindered me during sex in any way. So I guess that is also my message to guys that have Peyronies Disease and worry about the curve; in many cases and ways, you will remain your ability to have sex. Any untrained urologist would immediately say I would have Peyronies Disease, but it is just my congenital extreme curve.

Now why am I here then? I have been having pain / discomfort feelings for 45 days now already. I have a weird feeling of discomfort in the base of my penis and I am afraid it could be the start of Peyronies Disease.
I have absolutely no other symptoms yet, and the pain/discomfort is absent during erection. So in a way, I am happy that I have not shown any typical symptoms yet, but I am still worried that they might come.

So my question is the following: after 45 days of only slight discomfort in flaccid state (no pain during erections), could I regard my discomfort of different origin than Peyronies Disease since I am not developing other classical symptoms (yet)?
To my knowledge I would have suspected classical Peyronies Disease symptoms to develop much sooner. I mean, after 45 days now nothing has changed. Discomfort is of the same intensity (a low one) and my erections are still fine and don't hurt at all.

I hope to hear what you guys think. I have a hard time finding information on how fast the disease progresses and in what order. Every source says the acute phase can last up to 18 months, but that is so extremely variable and most guys suspect their Peyronies Disease of more classical symptoms like curvature and pain during erections.

Kind regards,

Daxos

Welcome Daxos to the forum.  This first item of business is would you please fill out your signature line -->https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,10819.0.html  . This provides other members a quick
glance into your current staus/treatments.  Secondly you should download and study our survival guide -->https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3180.msg44057.html#msg44057 . This is our compiled list of information surrounding peyronies treatments and outcomes.

Congenital curves are very common among a lot of guys and the degree of curve can vary too. Pain on the other hand is an indicator of something going on. Peyronies is a very unpredictable disease and can affect everyone differently. The beginning  of it is called the acute phase and this is where you could feel pain/penile shortening, lumps, indentations, twisting etc... It can last from 6 months to a year or even longer, it all is individualized.

The pain you describe could be the start of it or it could be related to some pelvic/muscular disorder. I have had a weak pelvic girdle problem where I had to do therapy and then incorporate squats into a weekly exercise regimen. I also had indescribable pain which I felt deep inside of my pubic bone area. There are not a lot of Dr's experienced in this unfortunately. If you are not having pain after 45 days and your erections are fine I would suspect that you don't have peyronies and should stop worrying about it. I remember when I first developed peyronies and I know how debilitating the worrying can get! Which is worse the actual disease or the mental anguish we go through?

I would still keep an eye on things and if you can function with a normal curve then you have nothing to worry about. You are being proactive though which is a good thing!  :) Mikel7

Thank you for time and answer. I updated my signature. Thank you for notifying me.
It could be pelvic problems yes, have had those for years already, but this is the first time that the pain is not going away after a while. I guess that is what scares me the most. But as you said, my comfort lies in that I still have not developed any other symptoms yet, so for now I guess I am still in limbo

No expert here but I will defer to Dr Trost who posts here and certainly is. There are many sources of penile pain that are not Peyronies Disease. Problem is, if you do a good search for penile pain, all you see is Peyronies Disease! Please check for yourself (I would not to like to misquote anyone) but pain is a minority Peyronies Disease symptom and flaccid pain even more so. An additional classification is Hard flaccid syndrome (my take on it is that is something of a catch all category- as the word syndrome suggests). To cut a long story short I believe it is possible to get penile pain and not have Peyronies Disease. Reasons can include HFS and/or various psychological somatic symptom causes.
No deformity or ED. Discomfort (which is improving gradually). Months of stress preceded symptoms. Discomfort can be palpated on practically the whole penis but it comes and goes. I can't find plaque. Latest urologist doubts that it is Peyronies Disease.

Thank you for your response. According to the rules, I am not yet allowed to ask him.
It is true that there are many more sources and origins of penile pain. When I started having pelvic problems it was extremely hard to find out about it as, like you said, pretty much everything you find about it redirects you to Peyronies Disease.
