septal fibrosis

Hello, I have a question if someone can clarify it for me. I have septal fibrosis nodules. in case of putting an implants they say that it is more difficult when there is fibrosis. That's what I've read on FT. Has something similar happened to anyone here on this forum? My question is with septal fibrosis, would we have to do two surgeries? one for the fibrosis and another for the implant or implant surgery can be used to remove the septal fibrosis from the corpus Cavernosum. Another option that occurs to me. they could leave the fibrosis if it did not hinder the passage of the cylinders. thanks I hope your help

Good Q. You may want to ask Dr Eid in the MD forum. I think this is good info for a lot of members looking at an implant.

Generally, from the journals i've read - if your condition is really bad, they will do two surgeries. One to correct curvature/remove scar tissue, the other to install the implant. For moderate to mild cases, just the implant surgery is sufficient and most people end up straight. My understanding is that, in some cases, the implant can stretch out the tissue and straighten curvature.

Hopefully some more informed members can chime in and answer better.

If you have a high-volume surgeon who deals with a large number of complicated cases, I think it is very unlikely you would need more than one surgery.  It, of course, would depend on your very specific situation.  The exact location and the degree of plaque.
