Pain during sex / masturbation - one small bit of optimism I found

Hi all, relatively recently diagnosed, definitely in the acute phase with curvature still forming and painful erections, etc. Naturally, this has made sexual pleasure very difficult, along with the psychological impact of trying to get used to "running the marathon" that is treating this condition. I live in Texas but have a phone consult set up with Dr. Trost's office soon, since I have not had much luck finding a dedicated Peyronie's specialist in my area.

Thanks to this board, I wanted to share a small win I had yesterday. I know there is a huge debate about the "use it or lose it" versus "rest it" mentality about sex and masturbation during the acute phase, and this isn't to weigh in on that. My decision is just that I still need SOME intimacy and sexual pleasure — carefully — in my life, even if it isn't full-blown sex with my wife.

Based on a thread I found here on the forum, I stumbled upon a recommendation for the Fleshlight Quickshot Vantage. I ordered it and gave it a try last night, and so far, for me, it has been the gentlest, most pain-free way to achieve sexual pleasure. I have to use it very gently, but I can envision incorporating this into play with my wife and still feeling some satisfaction. Your mileage may vary, and this isn't an endorsement for the product, just a report on my experience.

Hope this helps someone else at some point in time who is in my situation - I'm finding the Quickshot much gentler on my penis than using my hand even. I will limit this activity so as to not overdo it, but grateful to find some pleasure amidst a lot of pain right now.

Wishing you all the best.

Hi Joshua,
The Forum rules allow for vendors to introduce their products so long as they make clear to the administrators from the start that they are vendors.  The Forum does not allow vendors or people with a vested interest to push products without disclosing.  Soooooo, while I'm not accusing you of being a shill for this sex toy, if you do have any connection at all to the business side of this product, please make that very clear if you discuss it.  I know you said you weren't making an endorsement, but we just like to keep things very clear on the Forum so there are no breakdowns in trust.

I am not a vendor, and am in no way connected to this product, any other products in this industry, or any products period.

Sexual wellness, to me, is just as important of a part of my journey as a newly diagnosed person as the rest of my wellness is. I experience very difficult pain during intimacy, which is more of a challenge for me right to overcome right now than the deformity itself. I just stumbled onto a thread that mentioned this product elsewhere on the forum - happy to link to it if need be - and decided to give it a try, just as I have decided to give a try to a traction product I will not name, and a VED I will also not name.

I guess that's my question: I want to follow the rules, and didn't think I was breaking them. I have a feeling I will need the support of this forum for an incredibly long time, so the last thing I want to do is be on the other end of the people I am so grateful to for building and maintaining this incredible resource.

But I've seen many other mentions of products by name — from traction devices to creams and supplements and drugs by name — that I didn't think twice about mentioning by name the product I was using as part of my sexual wellness experimentation.

Can you familiarize me with when it is better to be more generic (for instance, I realize now I could have said "a half-sized clear silicone masturbation sleeve with texture on the inside" or something that didn't advertise for a brand name) versus when a mention of a brand name is appropriate or helpful?

If that's too hard to define, don't worry about it and I understand. I'm just hoping to learn how to be a better member.

Thanks,
Joshua

I think Joshua that you have a healthy perspective about peyronies and my wife and I too have used a masturbation sleeve as such. You have to keep living and intimacy and sexuality are a part of life. We all share our experiences here so others may be helped too.  :) Mikel7
