Congenital Curvature?

So I've had this downward curve for as I can remember. I think it may have something to do with wearing briefs that were too tight when I was younger. I remember getting a lot of erections that were pressed down against my balls and thus is the shape of the curve.

This is a sketch of the rough severity of the curve.

Does this look very very seriously unusable to anyone? I can straighten it out significantly using my hand when masturbating but just letting it sit on its own it looks like that. Should I be worried?

Also, do you think perhaps going back to briefs and wearing my penis pointing up for a long time will straighten out the curve somewhat, or will it cause more problems. I'm 16 so I hope that my body is still growing and will adjust to the change easily. What else can I do to lessen the curvature?

Thanks

it all depends on the partner your having sex with. quite simply put some women will handle it and some may find it difficult in certain positions. just get out there and start using it and see what reactions you get. if you meet the right women it wont be a problem. any more concerns or questions just ask

Curve,

That is exactly the type of curve I had since birth.  I doubt anything you did caused that-it sounds like it was something you were born with and it might have been prevented if your delivery doctor had noticed it-at least based on what I've read about the phenomenon in medical literature.  It still probably could be corrected surgically but I don't think you'll need it.  It never caused any problems for me.  If concerned see a doctor but I'd bet that nothing needs to be done.

Hi There,

I sit with a similar situation since I can remember. I was circumcised at birth. Early on I realised that I was boy of a diffrent kind. It was difficult times, especially during my teens and even early adulthood. Ultimatly I've learned to live with it - Took me years to find an understanding partner that accepted me as I am. Intercourse can sometimes be challenging, and it's more likely for the penis to slip out during intercourse due to the curvature or sometimes it may be difficult to insert and might need some manual guidance, but with practice one and your partner learns how to control your movements and positioning.

I'm still wondering what is the cause of my downward curvature. It must be a congenital curvature, as I had the curve since I had my first erection. Over the years I've noticed a couple of things: I can easily urinate during an erection. It seems like my urethra runs in the middle below the bulk of the shaft. Now, I've not review the positioning of the outlet of the urethra on the head of other penises, but mine has two openings, and I'm only urinating and ejaculating through the bottom of the two openings. This makes me wonder if during fetal growth and development, I had a shorter "than it should be" urethra that developed lower in the penile shaft, and is therefore creating a downward curvature during erection.

I was wondering if anyone experienced the same, or if anyone knows if a specific treatment can rectify this curvature, as it seems not to be peyronies, as I can't feel any lumps in either flaccid or erect penis.

Your comments will be highly appreciated!

I can't say too much on the subject as I don't have congenital curvature and everything I have learned in the subject is from this forum.
I read on the forum that in some cases, butchered circumcision that left one side skin shorter than the other side may cause congenital curvature and this can be corrected with simple surgery or other treatments.
I am proposing you to see an urologist and to get diagnosed.
I am also propsing you to read the topics of this board and surgeries related board. You may find what other people with congenital curvature has done.

No, I don't think wearing briefs had anything to with it. Anyone over the age of 40 started out in briefs so there would be a lot more older men with that type of problem. I'm guessing as you started to get a partial erection it was bent down. But for your erection to become hard enough to become a problem you would have experienced quite a bit of pain. And the pain would have caused your erection to do down anyway. Think of it as your body's defense mechanism.

What you have drawn is a 90 degree curve. If your erection was hard/firm to the point that you were not able to straighten it, then yes this would be a problem. It is difficult to have intercourse with curves greater then 30-40 degrees. Given that you can straighten it is an advantage. So it will be difficult to determine how much of problem it might be.

Wearing briefs isn't going to make a difference.

What you have described with 2 urethral openings is a condition called Hypospadias. It happens in 1 of 250 births and I don't believe it is connected in any way to congenital curvature. And congenital curvature is not Peyronies Disease. The only specific treatment to rectify a congenital curve is surgery.

Hi I'm new to the forum and really just had a few questions.

My bend is approx 45 degrees to the right and causes me no pain. I have had it for as long as I can remember.

Is it a "sharp" curve, or more of a gradual banana shape curve? A banana shaped curve is more likely a sign of a congenital curve.

james2012,
Just sent you a private message. There is much information on the Internet regarding the Nesbit procedure.

First off, there is no visible scarring. The initial part of most penis surgical procedures start off with something called de-gloving. An incision is made through the skin that covers your penis. This incision is made just below the glans. If you are already circumcised, basically the incision is made right on your circumcision scar. The skin covering your penis is then slid back to the base of the penis basically exposing the Tunica. Your Tunica is the tough sheath of tissue that expands with blood and gives your erection its size and shape. The sutures are placed on the Tunica on the longer side basically to draw it up shorter to match the other side (See 6-dot and 12-dot plication techniques). After surgery you will have sutures all the way around just below the glans where your skin was cut. Once this heals up it will blend in and exactly look like your circumcision scar. It is my understanding that guys can feel the permanent sutures under the skin. I'm sure this feels a bit unnatural until you adjust to it.
