Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum and 29 of age. My name is energy_drink_93 (for a lack of a better pseudonym) and I had the STAGE surgery with Dr. Kühhas in early August. I was diagnosed with congenital curvature by Dr. Kühhas in April (confirmed by ultrasound scan) and presented myself with a bent penis of about 55 degrees (downwards). Other urologists that I had visited before either told me that it isn't an issue (it has been a psychological problem for me since my early teens) or that it is IPP. Anyways, I first noticed the curvature when I was about 15 years old and now being almost twice that age I decided to not suffer any longer and have the surgery (since non-surgery options don't work).

Back to the present: It has been now almost 4 weeks since my surgery and I want to share my experience so far. I was very nervious before the surgery but Dr. Kühhas calmed me down, explained the procedure in detail and the possible complications associated with it and reassured me that I am in good hands. The next day I had the surgery at the private clinic in Währing. I was out during the surgery and when I woke up from the anaesthatics Dr. Kühhas told me that he operated on me for 2,5 hours and that everything went well and that he is satisfied with the result. I basically got 5 elliptic cuts in my penis that were closed with dissolvable sutures. I was pretty happy to see that my penis was still intact after the surgery and that I still could feel everything. Dr. Kühhas gave me further instructions and after the effects of the anaesthetics wore down, I could go back to my hotel. I have to admit the first week was hell because my penis, part of my pubis and my scrotum turned blueish. Also the dressing was pretty tight and it (as well as my underwear) got bloody during the day which kind of concerned me. Another thing that wasn't pleasant, sometimes kind of painful and also annoying is the squeezing of the penis head in order to prevent damage due to lack of blood flow (because of the bandage). Prior to the surgery, Dr. Kühhas told me that I had a large foreskin and that I can keep it if I want to. Since there were difficulties putting on the dressings properly due to my tight foreskin, I was allowed to take off the dressing after just 4 days (instead of normally 2 weeks). When I took off the dressing for the first time I kind of felt liberated because the dressing was starting to itch and at the same time I was in shock when I had a look at my penis. It was swollen but what was even more swollen was my foreskin. It had like three times the thickness it should usually have. The foreskin was bloody, crusty, ejected yellow fluids and was really bothersome when I had to go to the toilet. I forgot to mention that I had phimosis when I was around 14 years of age but another urologist fixed that by a small cut. So after that procedure in my early teens the phimosis was no longer a problem (but the curvature still was). Now I dealt with my monster of a foreskin for like 5 days. During that time I had conversations with the doctor on the phone every night and sent him pictures of my penis. (The aftercare has been excellent so far by the way) About 1 week after the surgery Dr. Kühhas told me that my foreskin condition was problematic because it would hinder proper dressings and also the traction exercises I was supposed to do. He offered me a circumcision which I could have the next day and he offered it to me free of charge! (normally around 1.500 €) Of course I opted for the circumcision (due to my phimosis in early life and the here and there balanitis I wasn't too sad to lose the foreskin). To sum up: I'm approaching 4 weeks post STAGE surgery and 3 weeks post circumcision. As of now, I can't really report anything about my bent penis situation since I haven't had an erection since my surgery; I think I had a couple the first 2 nights but my penis was still in the dressing so there is no way to tell how the curvature looks right now since I also was taking Androcur 50mg twice a day for 3 weeks and erections subsided really quickly after that). What I do can tell is that the circumcision was done really well and I'm very satisfied with the outcome. Apart from the erectile dysfunction (which should be from the medicine and reversible with time) my penis looks normal again and all the swelling and pain subsided. Basically the only complication was the swollen foreskin. A couple of days after its removal there wasn't really pain, discomfort, swelling or blood anymore.

I wanted to make this post to not only share my experience (will update it of course) but to also ask other forum members that had the same surgery with Dr. Kühhas. I saw many positive posts about Dr. Kühhas on this forum but just recently also read some negative ones which got me worried. So far I can only report my positive experience with Dr. Kühhas. In theory I should be able to have erections, sex and masturbation again from September 20th but I have my doubts:

  • The effects of Androcur seem to be really harsh. I mean I don't even have to suppress sexual thoughts. I can even watch porn and hardly feel anything. No boner and no urge to masturbate. I just wanted to ask other people who have taken Androcur for three weeks: How long does it take to get erections back? On the one hand it is good that I can't get an erection right now since I still have more than 2 weeks to go but on the other hand I want to see the result of the STAGE surgery after September 20th and also try sex and masturbation (libido per se thankfully isn't gone).

I'm really concerned that even if my penis is straight now, that it will curve again some time in the future. I read on this forum that this is more common with multiples surgeries prior to the STAGE surgery. In my case the STAGE was my first surgery. Can anyone elaborate on this perhaps please?

Thanks for any replies you might have. I will of course update my post periodically and try to stay positive. My main concern right now is getting erections back (in the next 2 to 3 weeks). I hope that in a few months I can say that it was worth it.

Best regards,

Hello,
thanks for sharing your experience. I'm having surgery at the end of September, also with Dr. Kühhas. Unfortunately, I can't answer your questions, but I'm deciding whether to go the foreskin preservation or circumcision route. Did you discuss why you had complications with your foreskin? Circumcision seems like a safer bet now.

Thank you!

Hi, we didn't really discuss the complications concerning the foreskin. Removal was not thought to be necessary at first and I think it could have healed up (but we're talking about multiple weeks and I didn't want to risk any complications for the straightening surgery since I'm supposed to put on dressings properly and required to do traction exercises which would definitely not have been possible with the swollen foreskin ... So without much thinking I agreed to the circumcision (which I don't regret at all). It is up to you and Dr. Kühhas will tell you if keeping the foreskin is possible. If you don't see your foreskin as something sacred then I'd recommend getting cut. I'm actually glad that I got rid of it since it basically has caused nothing but trouble in the past (at times).

Thank you for your reply! One more question please...Did your ultrasound also reveal scar tissue on the shorter side, as this is very common with ventral curvature?

It did not if I remember correctly. Also scar tissue isn't common at all with congenital curvature as far as I know. My understanding is that scar tissue is caused by injuries and results in plaques which is in fact another condition called Peyronies or IPP. I initially thought that I had that but there were no signs of trauma on/inside my penis. That is at least how I understood the differences between congenital curvature and IPP. In Peyronies the trauma causes the penis to bend and in congenital curvature it is due to other reasons. Again, I could be wrong but this is my understanding of it.

A quick update on my current condition: After ditching the Androcur/Cyproteronacetat for almost 10 days I notice my erections are slowly coming back  ;D I'm still not allowed to have full erections so I try not to think about anything sexual during the day and at night I have the bandages that keep any possible erections from getting to extensive. I actually was kind of worried at first but it really seems to have come from the medication. It is an awful medication in my opinion but necessary for the procedure. At least I hope that I never have to take it again, it temporarily deprives you of your manhood  :( What is still do not understand is that the dissolvable stitches from the circumcision are still present. My understanding was that they should dissolve within 2 to 3 weeks and I'm over 3 weeks now. It doesn't hurt but still I wish they'd go away soon. I'll wait a bit and contact Dr. Kühhas if they eventually don't dissolve but I read online that it is quite plausible that it can take longer for the stitches to dissolve. So I'm not too worried. Anyways, all seems pretty good right now and I hope to try out my "new" penis in around 2 weeks  :D

Hello,
I have some updates to share. Since about yesterday I'm allowed again to have erections freely and what can I say my penis looks like one I only knew from porn movies. The only thing that differentiates it from the dicks you see in adult movies is length but I'm starting to work on that (got the Phallosan Forte today) My penis is completely straight, erections are very good again and ejaculating also isn't a problem. I expected there to be pain but what can I say: There is absolutely none and masturbation feels great although different with a straight dick - in a positive way of course  ;D So right now my penis is entirely straight and I can't tell you guys how much of a confidence boost that is. The sutures from my circumcision are slowly disappearing although they have not disappeared fully as of now. I thought circumcision would make it hard to come but it happened really quickly yesterday (perhaps due to +40 days of forced nofap)  :D I really can't wait to have sex and I can be so much more confident with women now  ;) Clearly you guys can notice how happy I am and I can strongly recommend Dr. Kühhas. His surgery has really changed my life and I'm in bliss. The only thing that concerns me is the future, i.e. if my penis stays that way but Dr. Kühhas told me that I shouldn't worry about a reoccuring curve. Citron99, I can recommend Dr. Kühhas first-hand and I'm 100% convinced that you will be in good hands  ;)

So far I have only done manual traction (that is with my fingers by pulling on the head of the penis). You are supposed to do that 10 times every time you go to the toilet. Dr. Kühhas instructed me today on how to use Phallosan Forte (penile lengthing device). You do not have to do it BUT he highly recommends it since you will regain your length much quicker. I'll be proactive of course and use the device every day. I have my dream penis now and I want to restore my initial length (I hardly notice any length loss BTW but I'll check later with a ruler) ;D Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind an increase in size neither  8)

Let me tell you guys that life can be so good  :) STAGE surgery works 100%, I wouldn't believe it myself at first but I experienced it and it is the best remedy for a bent penis. Going to Dr. Kühhas with my problem was the best decision of my life. I too was scared initially which I think is normal for any guy – our dicks are sacred to us. But If I hadn't taken the plunge I still would worry and have low self-esteem due to the shape of my penis.

Will update you in a couple of weeks but I expect nothing but the best.

Congrats! I hope to have a similar result. I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading it. It's really a dream that in a few weeks you can solve a problem that's been bothering you for a hell of a lot of years.

Phallosan is a good device, I have worn it for 400+ hours (preparing for post-op), it takes a while to learn how to work with it, after that it is no problem to wear it for 8-10 hours a day easily, best practice is to put it on in the morning and forget it. However, expect about half the rate of increments they claim on their mobile app, but I understand that the main goal here is to resolve the post-op retraction.

Have you noticed any change with your 400h of phallosan forte?
A gain in length or a reduction in curvature?

- 01/2020: Nesbit surgery for a 50 degrees downward curvature with Dr.Faix (FR) : bad result

- 12/2022 : Surgery correction with Dr.Gelman US

- Now : Indentation on the left dorsal side with a rotation to the left that appeared, try Restorex

NBPFSL increased by about 0.5-1 cm, NBPEL also increased somewhere in between. It's just more stretchy, I guess. I didn't wear it optimally at first, though. The first signs of change came around the 300h mark. It's hard to tell if it's permament.
Another bonus is the improvement in erections. No effect on the curvature, maybe absolutely minimal, but I have a bit of scar tissue from birth, revealed by ultrasound, and that will always restrict the underside of the penis until it's surgically removed.

Oh great!
The scar tissue was seen during a Doppler ultrasound, is that right? Did Kuehhas ask you to do this ultrasound?

Kuehhas will surely remove this scar tissue ?

Exactly. He didn´t ask, I understand it's a necessary part of the examination and yes, ultrasound revealed scar tissue. You can't tell by touching it or anything, only ultrasound will tell. Dr. Kuehhas will remove it during surgery. Once this scar tissue is removed (it is not peyronies, tunica is intact), it should even partially straighten out, but incisions will still need to be made to completely straighten it out.

I had a consultation with Dr. Gelman and he also does not ask for a Doppler ultrasound like Kuehhas

In fact I don't understand because it would allow me to do an analysis of my penis before the surgery

Did you do it in your country? This ultrasound is done with an erect penis? 0 pain?

I wrote it misleadingly, sorry. I meant that Dr. Kuehhas didn't give me a choice, he just did an ultrasound as a necessary part of the examination. Surprisingly 0 pain (injection for erection support), of course it's a bit of an uncomfortable situation, you have to achieve an erection with the help of the porn industry :), but otherwise it's not a problem and it calmed me down, that everything else is fine (no ED, testicles ok...)
