Peyronies and alcohol

Hi there,

I have a question regarding the link between Peyronies and alcohol consumpiton.

A year ago, when I was drinking every 3-4 days (because I was in the middle of my masters programme and, well, networking/drinking was quite an important part of my student life), at some point I noticed that there was a correlation between my excessive drinking and the formation of new plaque. I believe that consuming alcohol in a way speeded up the formation of new lumps.

More recently, once my condition has somewhat stabilised, consuming alcohol hasn't been such a big problem. Now, occasional alcohol consumption does not affect my Peyronies that much but makes the plaque a bit less flexible the following day (especially when I do Ved/Restorex therapy).

What's your experience? How does alcohol consumption affect your condition?

Cheers

Hi,

I think its because peyronie is mainly a bloodflow problem, thats why it is important to avoid masturbation, alcohol and porn, literally everything that could make your blood slower.
This is also one of the reason why tadalafil is so effectíve, especially in the acute stages.

Maybe because your blood flow have a harder time to bend or stretch the plaque with lower pressure?
Anyhow, the goal should be to somehow manage to remove the plaques and restore the ellasticity of the damaged cells.

Alcohol consumption can elevate inflammation in the body and affect your immune system. Everyone's body functions differently at how fast it is eliminated from the body. It also affects your oxygen in your blood.  All of these things can affect peyronies.

I  suspect a mayor role for alcohol consumption in my case, because i do not have other known risk factors. Although I do not remember at age 22 specifically, I was a student at that time and drinking a lot of alcohol at my fraternity. At age 33 the injury started just after a 2 day weekend with friends and heavy drinking...

Studies show that excessive alcohol consumption is indeed a risk factor. While the cause of Peyronie's disease is still largely unknown, emerging evidence suggests that alcohol may play a role in its
development. It has been hypothesised that, like erectile dysfunction, the relationship observed between Peyronie's disease and alcohol use is largely through cardiac pathways (particularly hypertension and hyperlipidaemia). https://wileymicrositebuilder.com/trends/wp-content/uploads/sites/13/2014/08/206_ftp.pdf
