Using VED: Active -vs- Chronic phases

Hi guys,
Back in Aug 2021, I experienced the onset of Peyronies. I looked online for guidance and found some straightening exercises, so I did that for about 1 week.

I assume that this was the 'active' phase. In these first few weeks of peyronies, I would sometimes feel an ache inside my penis, even in flaccid state without touching it.

After the first few days, I was finally able to see my doctor. He said that there wasn't much evidence to show that Vacuum devices worked, and he told me to just "rest it".

Though, one year later, I have finally been given a phone consultation with a NHS Urologist and he told me to go out and buy a Vacuum device because mechanical treatment is needed ::), and he said I will also need a prescription for Tadalafil (Cialis) to take twice a week.

I am sick of the contradictory views coming out of the NHS (UK), hence I am seeking help here.

Q: Is it still effective to use a VED in the Chronic phase? ... And if so, where can i buy a good VED in the UK please?

I have read through many posts on this forum, and other users have mentioned "iMediCare" (at: https://www.mypelvichealth.co.uk/en/men/erectile-penile-health/erectile-dysfunction-management-penile-rehabilitation/somaerect-response-ii/ ) ... is this product still recommended?

Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, did you gain any insights lately on this subject?

How many degrees was your curve and also was there any narrowing/dents?

What have improved over the 2 years.
30 years. Sudden rightwards curve detected in June 2020
Narrowing on right side and about a 20° curve to the right.
ED + instability due to narrowing.

I had quite a severe curve that made sex very awkward and have quite severe hourglassing and dents with shortening in length and girth. The VED has definately improved the curve but sadly not helped with the other issues. I'm hoping if I bear with it that may change. The main difference is the curve and glans engorgement is better as that was an issue too. Altogether much better quality erections and better sex. That being said I miss my old cock and the joy it gave me for years but when I look at the youngsters here with this condition I feel blessed I had some great times in partnership with my little warrior for most of my young life and can't complain. I would just say on a serious note, keep to the advice and follow the protocols as they will stop you from any injury that  will set you back. I follow to the letter and never had an issue and had some good benefits that has given me hope that I may get more in tje future. Its a long haul but think its worth it.

Apologies for not replying all the way back in 2022. I did buy my VED from the company mypelvichealth.co.uk and also RestoreX some time later.

My first plaque, just below the glans, has almost completely vanished, with no bend or hourglass shape.

However, after starting this thread, around Nov-2022, I experienced a new plaque near the base of the shaft. This is still much more of a problem. The downward & right bend has reduced from 30 degrees to 20 degrees, but the collaring near the base hasn't really changed.

I have been told by the urologist that it is the VED that is best suited to reduce the collaring, but it can't seem to fix the problem - due to the collaring being so close to the base.

I had a GP on the NHS feel a lump in my penis and said it's nothing to worry about.

I told him my concerns for peyronies disease and he sent me through for an ultrasound.

They couldn't find anything and said the ultrasound came back clear and I do not have peyronies.

The NHS seems pretty useless in the UK. They aren't interested in helping.

I also take Tadalafil privately. I buy 5mg Vidalista and take it daily.

How did you get them to prescribe Tadalafil?

Sometimes the NHS are f***ing useless. When I told my GP about my first peyronies he just said "I would just rest it" and "there isn't evidence to support vacuum pumps and traction devices making a difference", or words to that effect.

Ultrasound... on the NHS ??!!! ... Wow, I have never been offered this!

Quote from: BentKnob on December 11, 2024, 01:42:25 PMHow did you get them to prescribe Tadalafil?
I didn't... and I don't take it. In fact, I don't take any supplements for this problem.

However, despite no longer being in the 'active phase', I am now considering taking L-Arginine and Vitamin E.

And, even though my plaque bends it down and not up, I am now considering buying the Penimaster Pro to use with weights, for the sole purpose of regaining length.

... Reason: Inspiration > I was looking through old boxes of stuff and found an old diary with notes on Jelqing from years ago. Looks like it increased my fully erect length by 0.6 inches.

Yep. The GP was quite understanding and sent me through for an ultrasound when I voiced my concerns.

The actual ultrasound itself is a waste of time. Incompetent staff not knowing what to look for.

I use a website to buy Tadalafil privately.

I'm planning to make another appointment with the GP and make my condition sound more severe so that they prescribe Tadalafil.

Thanks. Maybe i'll explore an ultrasound in the private sector, with urologists who are on the ball.

Meanwhile, I think i might invest in a new more powerful extender, to restore lost length: PeniMaster Pro or the Epic Extender.

I considered doing the same and have now decided not to bother.

I mean in reality what can they actually tell me? I already know what I have and how to fix it.

Just more money otherwise.

This is the very truth of why this forum exists. All of us men who have this disease need to be more educated than the Dr's who are supposed to be treating us. It is sad that the medical community hasn't poured more money and research into peyronies and it's treatments. Remember though that the almighty $$ dictates things in the pharmaceutical industry.

Got it in one! Big pharma needs lots of sick people = $$$, so they never really make cures.
