Hi guys I have been backwards and forwards over this forum trying to find info on implant surgeons in the uk.
I read that someone had a good outcome with Dr frazer in Scotland and recall some bad feedback on Prof Ralph in london and also some bad feedback on Roland reece in Southampton.
I have been under Roland reexe for over a year now and in my last appointment he said that I need an implant which would take over a year to get done on the NHS but if I was to go private and pay 12000 he could do it within a week.
After reading the advice on here that the surgeon should do a min of 200 implants per year and dr reece said he had undertaken 200 in total ,I have asked to be referred to Prof Ralph in london which I'm now counting down to my first telephone discussion in september.
I cant seem to find definitive advice on here for people that have had an implant from either of these surgeons, if anyone could update me or give advice It would be very much apreciated.
Dr reece has now made me a follow up appointment for a year's time which makes me feel that these surgeons make it as long as possible so you are forced to go private I only hope I have better luck with professor Ralph.
I thank you all in advance for any help you can offer.

Hi Rich,

As with any product or service you will always get different views and opinions on surgeons but I have had experience with all three so I think I am well placed to give you some sound advice.

You haven't filled out a signature so it is difficult to know your current status and why you need an implant.

I first saw Roland Reece two and a half years ago, about a year into my Peyronies. I found him to be quite disinterested and nonchalant, and he wanted to do a Nesbit procedure which I wasn't happy about. I saw him privately and paid £300 for a private consultation in southamption. He was instantly crossed off my list.

I had my surgery in February this year with Mike Fraser after reading a glowing report from Roddy On this forum. Although I am in a better position now than pre surgery I have been severely undersized and require a revision to correct floppy glans. I am approx 3cm too short which is just unexceptable IMO. I went private and drove 500 miles to Glasgow to get it done as waiting another year on the NHS just wasn't an option. I paid £13,500. I found his demeaner to be great, I thought he was very approachable but along with the final outcome I have had zero contact with him, no follow ups, no touching base which I find staggering.

I have since seen Professor Ralph and UCLH. Luckily I was out on the london borough NHS board as I had to see the Coloplast rep at UCLH so I am planning on using him via the NHS for my revision. I had heard that he wasn't all that approachable and could be quite cold but so far I feel quite comfortable with him. He agreed I have been severely undersized and need a revision. I had an MRI last week to confirm this although I haven't heard from him since. He has intimated to me that it would likely be Feb next year for any revision surgery.

Waiting a year for surgery, with the possibility of further atrophy and size loss was not an option for me and if you have the funds to go private I would strongly recommend you to go down that route. My hospital stay ( 2 nights ) in the Nuffield was first class and if you don't have the funds maybe consider a loan of some kind.

I can not recommend Mike due to his inability to size me correctly, but that does not mean he is a bad surgeon, Roddy is testament that he knows what he's doing but maybe he had a bad day with me. Roland doesn't seem to like doing implants and tends to recommend easier solutions.
David is the highest volume doing around 200 a year which for the UK is roughly 8 x as many as the next highest volume surgeon.

Interesting post Jimmi but sad.
Here's a question. What about going to France or the Netherlands or Germany?
We travel to different states for the best. Why can't you travel to another country? B
I also wonder since you went private, why you don't have some retribution?
I am not familiar with English law, but in USA, attorneys are always looking for victims of medical malpractice. Maybe he would even settle out of court to avoid the negative press?
As I said, I don't know, but it hurts my soul to give up on things when I have been wronged.
Good luck to both of you.

hi jimmi thanks for your reply, i too found dr reece the same as you and felt like i was being auditioned for a private client and every future contact he made for me was a year in advance when he knows the mental and physical effects this disease has on people and completely stops any sex life and affects relationships luckily my partner is very understanding.
i was really just waiting it out to see what dr ralph has to say about my problem and timescales on implants etc, i called his private secretary for pricing etc, and was awaiting further info but she never got back to me so i thought i would wait to speak to him in person under the nhs first as it is only a matter of weeks now.
Stepone i would be willing to travel for this surgery, are there surgeons you have in mind that may be better suited to do my implant i have a 70deg bend to the left with a slight upward bend too,i also have erectile dysfunction which is helped with trt and taladafil.
Thankyou both for your help with this matter and yes jimmi it seems crazy that dr frazer hasnt been accountable for his mistake and at least offer to rectify this or have to recompense a private revision if you have lost confidence in him totally.

I wish I knew.
Sadly it's just like the USA, you will need to google it.
I would also get in touch with a Colorplast representative and see what high volume surgeons they can recommend.
The problem is surgeons don't advertise they do penile implants, lol.
So it's up to us as potential clients to search for them.
Best of wishes,

Hey Jimmy, did you go ahead with revision with Ralph? Was he implying here he can help you regain length via revision?

I have lost length due to peyronies (no implant yet) so want to see the options to try regain length.
