This is my first day posting.

Have read through lots of posts, and it seems nothing really works?

My story, just over a year ago I felt a sharp pain during sex, but thought nothing of it. A week or so later I noticed a lump in the centre about a 1/4" down from the glan and about 3/4" in length. Obviously diagnosed as Peyronies. Everything was fine, apart from painful erections. But now the painful stage has gone, I'm left with a shorter penis, and have lost girth towards the end, coke bottle style. I must admit to being shocked by this, I was only informed by the uro that I was lucky that it wasn't going to bend.?

Obviously I'm a bit down about this, although I'm 60, content single, and can live without sex, as a man I'd like to partake occasionally, and I am faced with opportunities, but I don't want to expose myself to casual encounters, as I'm very self conscious that my appearance is far from ideal.

I do have erections when masterbating, but have suffered ED a few months ago during my last sexual encounter, I wasn't aware of the deformity at this point.

I have had ED for some time, but have overcome this with Viagra.

Is it usual to suffer ED during sex but not during masterbation with our condition?

Certainly it is possible to have erectile dysfunction during sex and not during masturbation. I have experienced that myself.

There are several factors that play a part in achieving a good erection and psychological issues can definitely be a cause from lack of arousal to performance anxiety, general stress and first time nerves with a new partner etc.

I've had this wretched condition for 10 years with so many false avenues. Only recently have I started to see some improvement due to diet changes, but no guarantee it will continue and everybody seems to be different. At the moment I choose to be an optimist, because you can be sure of no progress if your mindset suggests there is no hope.
55 years old. First developed Peyronie's in 2012. Tried all the usual treatments without success and generally only got worse. Seeing improvement following a move to a raw whole food plant based diet, plus flax seeds, lots of water and yoga.

Thanks for your reply :)

I know this may sound strange, I suffer from sexual anxiety, without the anxiety, I managed to beat anxiety about 10 years ago.

There are some promising posts on here, but you soon learn that they come from new members, which is obviously suspicious. :(

I need to read more threads though, see if many, or anybody has benefitted from the treatments offered by the clinics.

I did buy some Hirudoid yesterday, but not sure if I'll apply it or not?

Hey legacy. Welcome aboard!

It is normal to feel like that, that nothing really works. About what your uro said and what i've seen over the board throught the years... that is not true but you can always be hopeful that it will stay like that.

Please don't get into the mindset of "living without sex". There is a lot that can be done, even when you are having ED. And this is coming from somebody that has it too. Have you had bloodwork done to check your testosterone and hormones? That affects ED too, especially if it comes together with other commorbidities. Please have a look at this link: https://malefertilityandpeyroniesclinic.com/peyronies/treatments/ as well as the survival guide here on the board.

Also, could you get a prescription for daily cialis? you can also combine that with l-arginine to further improve your erections.

What is your take on restorex traction device and the vacuum pump?

Thanks for your reply :)

I'm already on T as I had leukaemia 6 years ago. I also have plenty of viagra here, as I get that for free. Should I be taking a little of that each night? I bought the I-carnitine last week. Just to add, I'm not currently looking for erections.

Should I know more about the VED's?

I'm lucky in that I don't suffer anxiety (which must be the biggest enemy with this condition) so spending hours in traction isn't worth it to me. Saying that, it's still bit of a downer...

Legacy,

Can a uro really say if it will curve or not?  My first uro told me 20% chance it will curve and that's just generic numbers I found out later, not specific to my case.  My second opinion uro said whenever there's plaque, there's always a chance for curvature.  I don't know what to believe, September will be my 9th month and have no curve yet but other symptoms.  Nothing has really changed in the last four months but now my erections don't feel as strong.  That can also be from stress of looking for job.

Best to all.
I have a girlfriend
Age 47, No injury

Six plaques
Hourglassing when flaccid and semi-erect
Only have my congenital curve
Massaging with vitamin E cream twice a day
5mg Tadalafil, Healthy diet
Discomfort/aching sometimes

My deformation is complete I guess...

I won't get a curve as my scarring is central. My penis is reduced in girth and length by about an inch at the glans end, coke bottle would be a good description, not that extreme though of course.

Constantly looking at therapies ATM.

If you have no deformity that is a very good thing and you should safeguard that carefully by avoiding physical damage, especially in the early stages. I started with zero deformity and it only started after I saw a private urologist who applied a lot of pressure around the plaque. That first appointment brought about an upward curve of around 15 degrees days later and he put me on Pentox that didn't help me one bit.

At a later appointment he applied an insane amount of pressure, saying it couldn't do any harm, however I have since felt it was wholly inappropriate. I remember driving home in agony and hardly slept for the next two weeks. From that I found myself with a 90 degree upward curve, twisting, narrowing and a pulling to the left.

Thankfully it is a lot better now, but I have had to live with this for a decade. I never saw another doctor after that and on reflection I think he just wanted me to have an expensive operation.

I have deformity? Or are you referring to not having a bend/curve?

Thanks for this info!

My second opinion uro squeezed the crap out of me, I hurt for like three days after.  That was June 1st and thankfully it didn't change.  I do have a 6 month follow up visit with my first uro on September 6th, I will make sure he don't squeeze me!  Although, I don't know if he's gonna wanna look, I have photos plus I have a ton of questions I put in the notes in my iPhone!

Best to all.
