Hi

34/m.

Noticed a small pea-like lump in March 22 (no injury or anything like that), went to see the GP in early May 22. It was tender at the time, and I had a constant ache in the area. He said it was nothing to worry about and to come back in "10 years" if it got worse. The tenderness of the lump has gone, as has the ache while flaccid.

It's however gotten progressively worse since then, with a large dent on the left side under the glans, a 20-30 degree hinge off to the left and incredible pain under the glans upon erection. Waking me several times at night and making intercourse nearly impossible. I've a lot of life experience with chronic pain but this is really bad.

Made another appointment to get a second opinion and today was seen by TWO GP's who seemed very concerned. Both said I should have been referred straight away, and they finally have.

Asked for Pentox, but they said only urologists can prescribe that. They've marked the referral as urgent due to mental health concerns, however they've told me that the backlog is huge and it could be a long time.

Theories of my own:

- I was taking max strength D3 daily for the last 2 years because of the covid thing, wasn't taking any K2 to counteract the calcificaton risks, could be related?
- I was wrongly prescribed Propranolol at the tail end of last year, which I came off in March after my heart-rate dropping off a cliff. Again, could be related?

Currently:

- Taking Vit E 500IU daily
- Taking L-Arg 1000mg daily
- Taking Magnesium Glycinate 300mg daily
- Taking CoQ10 300mg daily

Just ordered Acetyl L-Carnitine 500mg and Vit K2 MK7 100mcg too. Not sure what else to throw at it.

My mental health is in the toilet. I feel "less" human and I'm finding I'm struggling to even function at a fairly basic level at the moment without descending into a really dark place. I have an extremely supportive partner, which I'm thankful for.

Anyhow, just wanted to say hello.

Hello thegreycat,

We know how annoying plaque can be.  I have dents too.  It does take a mental toll, I can never stop thinking about it, if my condition will worsen or not.  We just have to remain positive.  You're in the right place for reading real experiences and support.  Use the search tab, very accurate.

I'd get to a urologist ASAP.

Good luck and best to all.
I have a girlfriend

Hey Frank, and thanks.

I'm told the Urologist could be months due to the NHS backlog, even though they've marked it as urgent due to my age and mental health concerns. My partner has taken the reins and is looking into private options.

Glad to know I'm not alone.

Regards
