Dear friends,

I have a problem of low testosterone with cause me ED.  My level are about 254 ng/dl of total testosterone. I think I have an absorption problem that causes me low levels of zinc. I am trying to improve it with supplements of zinc and ALCAR. If you have the same problem I would like your opinion of having supplements instead of TRT.  Can TRT cause the lot of side effects I have seen on the internet?

Is 254 a very low testosterone level or it can improve with supplements?

Best wishes,

Joe

I will give you my short version..... I had the same problem in 2004 and my levels were below low. Tests confirmed secondary hypogonadism. I tried the natural approach and herbal supplements and zinc and DHEA and testosterone boosters....Nothing really worked so I started my journey and after about 5 Dr's I found a hormone specialist and I eventually got on injections.  I have tried every form of T replacement and it really depends on you and your Dr working together.  You must first find a knowledgeable Dr that is going to give you the correct tests and then make a regimen based on your symptoms. It is not cookie cutter science. Today though I feel normal and my levels are back to where my normal values were. I admit I was scared knowing that this is for the rest of my life but I am glad that I did.      :)  Mikel7

Hi Mikel7!

Thanks for your reply! I understand perfectly well the problem you have had to go through and I feel sorry about it. I have deeply thought about what you have told me and as I have an insurance medical company I am going to ask the opinion of an urologist. There is a list of about ten urologists available but I visited two of them at the beginning of my Peyronie's disease and they didn't help me very much. I have made some progress with a traction device.

Best wishes,

Jor

I would like to give you the link to the forum I am on -->https://www.excelmale.com/.  It is a wealth of information surrounding TRT .  You can also download a free copy of the book "Beyond Testosterone " by Nelson Vergel.  At the top of the forum click on the right side where it says free book.  You should read and absorb as much knowledge as you can before you go into your Dr's visit.  TRT is not just about replacing testosterone.  Our bodies rely upon a carefully balanced system to produce the hormone and many urologists and sadly endocrinologists do not fully comprehend such.  My best ! :) Mikel7

Dear Mikel7,
I feel really grateful for the link you have sent me. I will study the booklet and then go to the appointment I have next Wednesday. I have had to go to a private doctor because although my insurance health company covered about ten of them in my city their appointments were for nearly September. It is going to cost me about 90€ and if they decide a Doppler for my Peyronie's problem another 40€ more. Everything you do in this world is by means of paying and paying.

Thank you,

Joe
