Hello everyone and welcome to my world.

It all started with painful erections waking me up in the early hours of the day. Then I noticed that my erect penis was becoming upwardly curved, which I have admit was initially quite appealing. For reasons I can't really explain, I didn't Google it or do anything much, apart from throwing away the masturbation cup I'd been using. It was of East Asian origin (Tenga) and I was aware that it was too short, but thought I was being careful enough. I clearly wasn't.

As I write this, I'm 55 years old and single. I've been mainly single for the last seven years or so and OK with the fact, as I felt very down on myself and couldn't contemplate the relationship marketplace . I live in the UK and when at last I contacted my GP (family doctor) he messed things up by failing to actually send my referral off. Only when I got back in touch did this become apparent, leading to a rapid referral and an appointment the following Wednesday. I was diagnosed with Peyronies Disease and told they'd be in touch in six months or so.

By a strange turn of fate, I met a woman and started a relationship with her in the few short days between the referral and the appointment. It didn't last, unfortunately, but I can say that she complained that penetrative sex was painful for her. I don't think that's why the relationship fizzled out, but it surely didn't help. Sarah remains the only person I've talked to outside of the NHS. She's also greatly whetted my apetite for having a girlfriend again!

So to the key facts:

- onset of symtoms around May '21, diagnosis December '21, phone consultation expected in July '22.
- strong upward curvature when erect, I estimate to be about 65 degrees. I think it's stable now, but I'm not sure.
- torsion to the left (ACW) when flaccid, but it seems to disappear when erect
- pain subsided over time, but was never really a problem for me psychologically.
- I don't appear to have ED, and certainly didn't in the presence of the lovely but lost Sarah.
- I still masturbate with a cup, but it's longer and less tight. I probably shouldn't, but it's all I've got.
- I've been taking c. 1.6g acetyl-L carnitine and one multivitamin tablet per day since January on the advice of the consultant, but that's all. My diet is quite good and I have no other health problems.

I've spent a fair amount of time reading posts and responses on here in the last few days. It's been very interesting, so thank you to everyone who's contributed to my understanding! However, there's a question I can't find an answer to, so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it:

Has anyone experimented with cheap Chinese VEDs like this:

in place of the much more expensive medical products?

Cheers!

Hi HexXxanaut,

I do not know anything about the Chinese VED. I can tell you though (in case you do not know this) that the Soma device can be obtained on prescription from your GP. The Soma device is a good quality device and is one of the preferred ones here. I got mine on prescription.

Cheers for letting me know - I didn't imagine that would be the case.

If you contact the medical rep for you area at iMediCare in Watford, they can help you with obtaining one via your GP. They send you a form to complete and give to the GP.

Thanks again - I'll bear that in mind.

Welcome aboard Hexx.

I have no experience with the cheap chinese pumps you mentioned, but i heard great things throughout the years on the soma erect like people were talking about.

Masturbation is good if it is done gently. Have you tried traction yet? Would you be interested? Restorex might be worth trying if you can get your hands on it.

Cheers for replying to me. As a result of reading this site I'm starting to use manual traction, although I can't say I've got a protocol worked out. Next step will likely involve Tadalafil (Cialis) and a VED, taking things carefully in order to avoid further injury.
