3.5 months post-op update

Unfortunately, I have to report some not so great news. I started to notice an upward curve recently combined with maybe 0.5 inch loss of length. I am not sure if I am measuring accurately since I do not know if I am completely erect, but yea, I am worried. The curve is only evident when I am flexing my penis and its erect. If my penis is erect and I do not flex it, it appears fairly straight still.

Guessing what happened was that the dorsal sutures caused some retraction in the dorsal side.

I started traction a few weeks ago when I started to notice it. It was recommended I start traction 6 weeks post op, so I regret not starting it then instead of 10 weeks post op. Using penimaster pro for 3 hours a day everyday. I am probably going to start using it for longer because I am getting pretty worried. I'm considering using it when I sleep, but seems a bit dangerous.

Haven't had much sex with my girlfriend because I have been busy and stressed out with work, but last time we had sex it was fine. If this is permanent and I have this upward curve now and loss of length now, I think I will be okay as it is much easier to have sex with an upward curve than a lateral and downward curve as I had before.

Definitely going to bring this up at my post-op appointment with Dr. Levine.

Also, can anyone who has done traction pre or post surgery please comment on if you found it helpful? Can you wear it to sleep? I am doing about 500g force (I think).

Anyways, I am feeling down, but I am hoping with traction I can get back to how I was immediately post op.

"If my penis is erect and I do not flex it, it appears fairly straight still."

What do you mean by this? Why would you have to flex it if it is already straight?

In my case I haven't used traction since my instructions were "do nothing" (apart from cleaning the cutting line and abstain from sex in the first 6 weeks).
Late 20's. Congenital ventral curve 60º (in capacity to have sex with some impediments).

Plication in May 2022 by Dr. Torremadé (Lue procedure).

Now almost straight (about 10º ventral curve). Recovering. Here to help others.

Hey I forgot to ask - what about the loss of sensation in the glans? Did anyone experience this?
I have an "odd" situation where my left side is sensitive, but my right side is numb (this is after 31 days). I can literally scratch the right side and not feel a thing, while the left is still good
Does the loss of sensation go away..?

Mr man

Hello Ruff and Vic,

Please could you tell me if surgery has affected girth? I know many guys (understandably) are worried about length but I like the girth on my penis. And would like to know if surgery will make penis a little thinner?

Will appreciate any of your experience or thoughts.

Thank you.

Mr man
Latest routine. Started l-lysine 3mg daily, l-proline 5mg daily. Increased vit c intake. Accompanied with almost daily vacuum therapy. Pumping to 100% Exercise caution! Made good progress. L arginine supplements and prescribed potaba are helping.

Hi Mr. Man.

The surgery had no negative impact on girth. I don't believe plication surgery generally results in a thinner penis.

Five Month Update:

Hey guys. Quick five month update.

So far so good. Sex is a million times times better than before. My girlfriend is happy. And I feel my life has literally changed for the better.

I honestly am still in disbelief that this is real life. I was living with anxiety and depression for so many years because of this, and now I feel that its all gone. I feel like a new person.

I just want everyone to know that with the right doctor, there is hope. Dr. Levine changed my life.

Also, I have a slight upward curve now. Nothing substantial. Doesn't bother me or my partner. Nothing like the 60 degrees down and left I had before.

Im happy to post pics at some point in the future if anybody wants to see before/ after.

Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Stay strong.

Ruff, your post #27 on July 21, 2022, 10:23:01 AM is pure joy! It's just the very thing so many of us in this forum hope to hear and eventually experience.  Despite the concern you expressed following this post, additional posts reveal all is about as right as it can possibly be (e.g., "...sex is a million times better...").  This is so awesome for you and encouraging to forum members. So pleased for you and appreciative for your (intimate) sharing.

1.5 year update.

Dr. Levine changed my life. No complications. No pain. Just great sex and happy partner. I have sex 3-5x/ week. I still cannot believe that this is my reality.

I was in a dark place for a long time (around 7 years). But I now I often forget that I had peyronies. When I do remember, they are accompanied by a profound sense of gratitude.

If you are struggling, there is hope, just be careful who you chose as your urologist as this decision is the most important one.

DM if any questions.

Mate this gives me hope. As I've felt none lately, and I thought only an implant was the solution? But sounds like this may work too.
41 years old.
I discovered a left curve several months ago.
GP inspected my penis and diagnosed Peyronie's.
My urologist wants me to give treatment another three months.

Hey man, I am glad you found this helpful and congrats on your surgery. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regarding the post-op stretching, I was also worried about using traction. However, it is very difficult to rip the sutures with simple traction. The tensile strength of a suture (maybe around 2000-5000g of force of a single suture x say 5 sutures = around 10,000-25000g of force) is more than enough to withstand the force youll put on traction (between 200-1000g of force). Obviously, start a bit slow because the area is sensitive, but gradually you should be able to increase it. I was consistently putting 690g of force for 6 hours+ a day. I did this for 3 months and stopped because Dr. Levine said 3 months is the minimum they recommended. I could have done longer but was just tired and wanted to move on with my life.

I feel that it is important to do traction for 3 months after plication surgery as it improves the healing and remodeling process.  In my case I had no issues using it.

I highly recommend Penimaster Pro. I used it before and after surgery. Its the best, most comfortable traction device IMO. You can measure the amount of force you are using as well (690g was 3 bars).

Hope this makes sense. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Implant can be a good option too. I recommend speaking with an experienced urologist in both implants and plication and seeing what they recommend in your specific case.
