Varicose veins

I got diagnosed with a varicose vein in my scrotum. It seems to swell and effects my peyronies curve by placing more pressure on one side of the penis (as my erection is already unstable). It's been causing me a lot of pain and discomfort.

The GP and vascular cannot understand why it's causing pain and say you just have to live with it.

This makes traction and VED difficult at times.

Does anyone have any experience with this? There's not much info online. I can find information on varicocele but not a varicose vei.

Any experiences or info would heal

Thanks

Hey jj21,
So actually, a varicocele IS varicose veins, or more precisely, a clump of varicose veins that have collected in the scrotum.  The layman's term is "a bag of worms" because that's what it looks and feels like.  I'm assuming yours is on the left side, which is the most common.  Varicose veins in the scrotum are usually not painful, but they can cause pressure or get twisted or tangled up in the other things in the scrotum and that can cause discomfort and occasional pain.  I do not believe varicose veins, or even a lump of them big enough to classify as a varicocele, is likely to be related to Peyronie's, but I agree that the additional quantity of blood collecting in the scrotum could negatively affect erections.
At the very least, a varicocele is an imperfection in a spot that we guys all want to be perfect, so it can have a negative psychological effect.  Medically speaking, a large amount of varicose veins in the scrotum will raise the temperature and could hinder sperm production or motility.
It's not hard to get this fixed.  They simply clamp or tie off a few of the veins and they disappear over time.  A good urological surgeon has probably reduced many varicoceles since as many as 15% of men have them.  If they get too big they should be reduced.  If it bothers you, have them clipped.

Thanks a lot for your response. So my ultrasound came back saying no varicocele but a varicose vein. So I'm assuming it's not a cluster but a single vein that's dialated?

It does cause a lot of pain and discomfort but the vascular surgeon and GP were against doing anything about it. Pretty much said to just live with it.

I guess I should try my urologist.

Thanks for the info,

yes, it sounds like a urologist will have a better idea than the others.  If it is only a single vein, it may be easy to remove.  If it causes pain/discomfort then I don't see why you should just live with it.
