Courage, Gobbler. Unfortunately, many are in the same boat as you. SSRIs only help a fraction of those in need, and for decades nothing (significantly) better had been developed.

Finally, a new class of medicines with far greater efficacy is around the corner. Here's one in the news https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/02/health/psilocybin-magic-mushroom-depression-wellness/index.html. The other highly effective medicine, ketamine/esketamine, has been around for a bit but requires a weekly clinic visit.

If you cannot access these more potent medicines, please have a doctor skilled in dysmorphia/ocd prescribe SSRIs. A much higher dose of SSRI is needed for these disorders than for depression.

thanks tsp. I am not a big believer in anti depressants especially SSRI. cant say it is because of the sexual side effects because I have them anyway even when I am not on any medication but the idea of them F^@$!ng someone up for a significant amount of time is scary.

I think since my own cognition is causing a lot of the problems only I can really stop it and a pill cant really do much about it

maybe some other update, I have not seen any changes to the erectile dysfunction.

unfortunately I have not been able to get a doctors appointment and my next one will be in mid February however after being kind of shy and not too upfront I will make sure to make that one count because waiting for them is hell.

right now my penis is in the worst state ever. the ED is significant but what's more bothersome is the extremely strange kind of deformity I have. I do not have a curve per se but as explained earlier directly under the glans there is a circumferential cord, I can feel it even in flacid but best in half erect state. it is a cord like thin structure that wraps around the penis under the glans circumferentially. it is unnatural to the touch and I have not had it before. upon erection is marks the middle point of the maximum indentation there. so clearly this tissue is giving me the indentation. my dick is significantly thinner in that area and feel extremely uncomfortable to the touch. 15 months now, no clue, seen 2 andrgologists, one said probably some mild septal plaque and cant do anything about it like injections etc or surgery(honestly ill get an implant if I cant treat it because my dick is absolutely useless and Im done with it all) and the second said he thinks its  a "frenulum breve", a short frenulum that I have acquired instead of born with.

as often you ask some people and everyone has some different idea. I dont think thats how it should be. in any case I dont think its the frenulum because I have not seen any changes there and I can feel this hard thick band which would be a major coincidence. also I dont think a frenulum issue can cause such a defect as hour glassing.

it also seems to be extending. its like my dick is wasting away week by week, it gets overall thinner and in particular, the erection gets more and more painful. its like someone remove the tunica and removed the entire left side of the penis with a thick plaque preventing it from proper expansion.

when I google my symptoms I come up with corporeal fibrosis and that fits the symptoms quite well however my doctor did ultrasound and said there is no evidence of it. however I have seen worsening since the last visit so not sure.

i dont care about sex that much, I realize that while some of it is due to the innate need for companionship and intimacy, a lot of it is also due to self approval which I groan for due to having low self esteem all my life. I guess having pain upon erection helps keep anything sexual at bay because who wants to engage with pain?

so yeah not many solutions, kind of sad that these are my twenties rn. not sure if there's even a solution especially if the problem cant even be pinned down itself. so im depressed about the lack of progress and insight on that front

I am not a doctor, but your description sounds like an acute stage Peyronie's, among other things. The current recommendation by Dr Trost is traction at this stage. Unless your other injuries preclude its use, please seek your doctor's permission to start traction, preferably with RestoreX.

If Finasteride causes ED in numerous men, why is still on the market?, Is money more important that the health of people?. Ironically, the vasectomy caused me similar issues as Finasteride, my hormones dropped soon after the vasectomy and I know that it happened to other men but yet they still perform vasectomies without mentioning the possible hormonal fluctuations as a result, the medical industry is CORRUPT
My first symptoms started early in 2019
I tried Traction device, Pentofixiline, Q10, TRT, L-Argenine, cialis
I have narrowing/dent/hinge on the left side of my shaft
My ED is getting worse
Had a PRP shot Aug 2021
I have a girlfriend
Age 46

the ED is not the primary issue anymore. I think it is a hormonal issue but it is less debilitating for me then the weirdness of this indentation.

so this issue is incredibly irritating for me. I talked to dr trust and my own dr and they dont know either. it is not acute stage peyronies because the pain is not from an inflammation of some sort. the pain comes from the indentation. I dont see it ever getting better without a grafting surgery. does anybody know these gummy bands?

https://previews.123rf.com/images/dianazh/dianazh1304/dianazh130400348/19054883-bunten-gummi-band-auf-weißem-hintergrund.jpg

this is exactly what it feels like. imagine this around the penis under the glans. and it constricts upon erection. so that causes the pain. when I touch it in flacid it feels like such a cord has been implanted into my penis but it is even harder tissue wise. erect I have feel it too. this will be the hardest part of the erection, even during a semi erection this area is hard like stone. it cuts into the flesh like the gummy band tightly put around.

i dont want to do traction on this before I know what exactly this is. I felt my doctors where lazy by not doing a more in depth investigation

because there are numerous studies on it over the decades. you can find many drugs where some people have an unfortunate reaction to it. does not mean it is the norm and that you should warn them, I think proper counseling is enough, I am for autonomy in that regard and self responsibility but only if there is proper education. just like with recreational drugs

hey dude

i wasn't on fin, but i was on antidepressants for 3 years and my hormones were f***'d.

when i quit the antidepressants my testosterone went up over 2x in 1 year from 330nl/dg to 680.

in that time i lost half my hair. my head of hair is now super thin but at least im no longer balding. i am going to stay away from fin

...

i injured myself during sex long before the antidepressants tho

i've been struggling with performance anxiety and sexual function for 9 years now
