Ultrasound said no Peyronies? Confused
« on: June 04, 2022, 07:58:44 AM »

I have had about a 10-15 degree upward bend just behind the glands that developed late last fall. No injury. Just came on suddenly. Recently had a grey scale penile ultrasound done while flaccid. Report said no plaque and no signs of peyronies. Now I’m confused. Is this test conclusive? What else could it be? My follow up appointment with urologist is not for 2 months.

Ultrasound is super inaccurate and is barely effective at identifying Peyronies (at least this is what my doctor said). I had ultrasound several times with different specialists and not a single time it showed the plaque or any problem whatsoever (even though I can feel the plaque/lumps through my skin).

based on my understanding an ultrasound cannot "say not peyronies". peyronies can be verified with an ultrasound but on the contrary you can have plaques that are not detectable on the ultrasound, mostly they are softer, not calcified tissues that are hard to detect among the various types of tissues. you can also have fibrosis in the penile septum which is the part of the tunica between the two erectile chambers and it is hardly detectable there. in my case also nothing can be see on ultrasound or palpated but I have a definite defomrmity indentation and rotation that cannot just come out of thin air without any alteration to the underlying tissue, how minor it may be.

so no, these tests are not conclusive. I have seen quite a few doctors and they all attested me that ultrasound especially in flaccid state often fail to detect it when its not a major alteration. honestly though, most doctors do not know crap about it and dont really care. they are massively confused themselves what constitutes real peyronies, what constitutes normal scar tissue in the penis and what is even the difference

Hey Rp2006... please have a look at this: https://malefertilityandpeyroniesclinic.com/peyronies/appointments/

Maybe it will be an option to get in contact with Dr. Trost and get a second opinion? Maybe he is closer to you..

I did 2 ultrasounds and they told me I have no Peroynes, but my penis is narrowing on the left side and now is unstable, the diagnose doesn't mean anything, I still have a problem with my penis
