Just wanted to share an article that I came across most recently.

https://www.tagblatt.ch/leben/der-penis-als-fruhwarnsystem-ld.1444129

It's in german but google will certainly be able to translate it. It's about a cardiovascular specialist in Switzerland who started a new surgery for ED patients where he opens arteries going to the penis with stents. It is a well known procedure for heart surgeries and he has adopted it for improving blood flow inside the penis. He claims a success rate of 67%. I don't think there are any larger studies out there yet. However, insurance companies in Switzerland have most recently decided to pay for the surgeries. This sounds promising as swiss people are known to be very intelligent investors and the insurance companies certainly would not pay in case it's a scam.

I was just wondering why no one else seems to be offering this type of surgery. Neither in the US nor elsewhere in Europe seem to be surgeons practicing this surgery?!

I have not heard of anything similar to that in the U.S. and I don't think we would anytime soon. I am not a doctor but that sounds very complex/risky and not something that would get approved here for a while.

Arterial stints are widely used and accepted.  They are coronary stints and in arteries in other areas of the body.  I think approval would be pretty straightforward since we are only talking about a different artery.  In fact, medical approval for the surgery is probably not required.  Insurance coverage is a little more complicated but would likely be quickly resolved since this is likely MUCH less expensive than an implant and probably less expensive than decades of oral and injected ED drugs.

Since it is the ordinary placement of an arterial stent it should be a rather simple surgery.  It likely only involves 1 very tiny incision for each artery and then pushing the stint to the occasion to open it.

General info from a trusted medical website--> "While there are many different types of stents (arterial, airway, urinary), the procedure is similar. Some stent placement procedures can be minimally invasive, and people may only require a local anesthetic or intravenous sedative. Stent placement is usually an outpatient procedure."

Arterial stints often require taking blood thinners for several months to reduce the risk of a blood clot.

This however probably only works if you have a penile arterial conclusion.  I doubt it works for venous leakage, lack of general arterial dilation (they cant stint the full length of every penile artery).
