My plication surgery so far

Following a couple of years dealing with Peyronies Disease I finally had plication surgery on April 29, 2022 at UT Southwestern Urology in Dallas Texas.  My Dr. was Allen Morey.  So far (only 2.5 weeks out) everything has gone much smoother than expected.  I've had no pain at the incision sight.  I took a prescription pain killer about 3 hours after the surgery but didn't feel like I needed it.  Most of my problems were related to the bandaging.
The surgical wrap used is that stretchy fabric that clings to itself well but does not feel sticky.  It's easy to wrap this bandage too tight causing much discomfort.  The fix is easy, just unwrap it and rewrap it more loosely.  My bandage was wrapped too tightly initially and I called the Dr. in much pain about 4 hours after surgery.  I got the OK to rewrap it.  My pain went from a 7-8 on a 10 point scale to a 2-3 in just an hour.  I took one Tylenol before going to bed that night and never took another pill for pain after that.
The bandage does stick to the skin and some of the bandage must be in contact with the skin or it will slide off.  Pealing the bandage off the skin is quite uncomfortable but must be done slowly and carefully.  A gauze pad is over the incision.  That does not stick.
Erections will wake you up.  I get more at night than I ever knew and every time, I have to get up and go to the bathroom. That gets rid of it.  The bandage had to be used for 9 days.  During that time I also had to rewrap the bandage to releave  the adhesive tension and pressure of the bandage.
All these bouts of pain I am mentioning are short lived, not something you would take medication for.  And other than these short moments, I felt great, able to do most anything the day after and on.  The Dr. even said there are no physical limitations after surgery. But use your head.  I would not recommend horse back riding the first 2 weeks.
Strangely,  seems like I'm getting more and longer lasting erections than before surgery.  I used to take 100 mg of Sildenafil (viagra) to get sufficient erection for sex.  I still have 3.5 weeks before I can test it out (I have not been to able penetrate for 7 months now).
My first recommendation for those considering this procedure, don't watch any videos of this surgery!  I saw glimpses and that was enough to give me chills.  It's hard for us lay people to understand how this can work so well.  I had about a 45 degree kink, now its about 10 degrees and looks very useable, albeit shorter.
Will provide an update in a few weeks.

Hey SPP... Does your doctor recommended you use traction after surgery to regain some length back and help stretch the penis out?

My followup visit is June 13.  We will see.

Your base situation and recovery sound exactly the same as mine did.  I am about a year out from my plication with Dr. Christine and doing well.   Hope things continue to heal quick and nicely.
45 Yrs old, Peyronies Disease Onset 11/2019, Stabilized 6/2020.

Dent/Hourglassing distal and dorsal side, lost length and girth.

Underwent Plication with Dr. Brian Christine in Birmingham, AL on 6/17/2021. Fully recovered with no complications.

I too would like to know how much length you seem to have lost.  I have a similar bend right now 40-45 degrees, and they are scaring me with estimations of up to a half inch!   Plication is something I am leaning towards, but very nervous about it.
52 years old
Diagnosed 5 years ago with an upward curve of 60-65 degrees.
Completed one full round of treatments with Xiaflex (8 injections)  Measured curve 40-45 degrees after that
Using Restorex and took oral medications as well (Pentox Cials)

Loss of length is going to vary... yes may be 1/2" or so.   But here's the deal.  Peyronies itself robs you of length.     I had Plication over two years ago.  Yup I'm straight and yes it's shorter.  I am grateful every day to be straight and not obsessing about my penis.

I don't really know because I didn't measure before surgery.  The doctor may have taken some before and after measurements that may be provided at my followup appointment on the 13th.
If sex is good, I don't care what the length is.   Haven't had any for 8 months.

I was very nervous too.  I asked the doctor after being preped if I could still chicken out.  I was sort of joking, but then.......I was nervous.
2-3 hours later I was eating lunch in a Panera Bread restaurant.  The satisfaction rate is very high.  That's what sold me.  If the sex is good, why care what the length is.
You are thinking that if you are any shorter, that the sex won't be any good.  Again, look at the satisfaction rate.  I'm not on that graph yet.  I can only say that the recover is not bad.
I was not degloved, just a single cut on one side.  I don't think many are degloving still but you should ask.  That sounds more radical to me.
Make the call.

Can you feel the knots from the plication? I am thinking of going down the plication route as the incision and grafting is too risky (even though I have about 70 deg curvature - but I've already lost the length on one side, and I can live with a short but straight penis). My only concern is having palpable knots that would be uncomfortable or painful- have any of you that went through plication surgery experienced that?
Diagnosed in 2019 initially ventral indentation, hourglassing w/ slight rightward curve
In 2020 developed dorsal curvature, ~70 deg
Tried traction (PMP), VED, heat, vitamin E, no change
Modified Nesbit surgery Dec 2022, <10 deg

Yes, I have a palpable knot with a visible bulge there.  At this point, I don't think it will be an issue during sex but can't say for sure yet.  I have not heard any others with more experience say it was a problem related to sex.
My alternative to surgery was to never have sex again with a natural erection.  The knot seems almost irrelevant in comparison.
