Considering Plication Reversal Surgery

I had plication surgery about 5 years ago to try to correct a left bend in my penis.  The surgeon tied 2 permanent sutures into the right side of my penis to attempt to correct the curvature.  However, I have never been happy with the results due to the fact that I immediately lost most sensation in the right side of my penis, and the sutures are sometimes uncomfortable.  Needless to say, sex is not what it should be, due to this disappointing result.

I have been strongly considering having the sutures removed.  If there is any safe way possible, I would love to go back to the way I was, with full sensation, etc.   I would like to get opinions on this forum as to if pursuing a second surgery to remove these sutures is a good idea or not.  Any advice / help you can give would be greatly appreciated.  I want to make a confident decision that will help my quality of life and try to put this issue behind me for good.

There is no guarantee that removing the sutures will restore your loss of sensation.

Hi

I am considering the plication procedure myself, do you mind me asking what degree curviture you had and did it improve it significantly, i am 40 to 45 degrees to the left. i am more concerned about length loss, however i didnt know sensation loss could occur. i am 41 i have had this disease for 9 months, my urologist is recommending the nesbit, it looks like butchery to me...but in response to my implant question that possibly an implant is better to just guarantee length and ability to function, he still opts for plication...

did you use the VED method, if so any results?

good luck

To Nate34: Once the sutures are placed the tunica will heal that way and remain the same even if the sutures are removed. You may get rid off the uncomfortable feeling of the sutures though. If you live in FL there's a doc in Miami that will do this for you, his name is Harold Reed you can google it.

To realty: If you still can get an erection, no doctor will suggest an IPP to solve your Peyronie problem, many of them even consider it a cosmetic procedure. I have the same question you do with my Peyronie. I even went to see Dr.Milam-an implant specialist and he told me best to leave it alone until i can no longer get an erection on my own then come back and he will do an implant for me. So like i said, if you still can get and keep your erection, and if it's not like 120 degrees bend ... implant is not an option for you.

reality,

Based on my experience with the plication procedure, I would advise you not to proceed with it.  In fact, I would highly recommend that you leave your penis alone and accept it the way it is.  I had about a 30-35 degree bend before the surgery.  Sex was still possible...I just didn't like the way it felt in my pants walking around with that curvature, and I was self conscious about the look of it in front of a woman.  In retrospect, I wish I had just accepted it and left it alone.  That is not a part of the body that you want to be messing around with regarding surgery and taking risks.  I only wish I had thought this way 5 years ago before the surgery.  Now I find myself trying to find / think of a way to undo this procedure and regain my sensation on almost a daily basis.  It can be frustrating.

That is my advice to you.  I hope it helps.
