RestoreX vs Others for comfort

I am a Restorex User from about three years ago and I am happy to report that it removed all outward curvature. It was about 5 months of twice-daily use. 30 minutes before bed and 30 minutes in the morning.

However, now two years on and it's getting "too" short. Any hope that it was only going to be an acute episode are long gone!
I can feel additional plaques and lumps that were not there before, but thankfully no more curving.
However, now it's short enough that it's affecting my 'personal' alone-time performance, among other things. (I estimate about 2" of length loss at this point).
I was mentally ok with this as it wasn't really affecting my performance or feeling, but now that it's harder to enjoy, taking much longer and frustrating me, I wanted to address it.

I recently tried to restart using the Restorex and I am finding that the clamp is way too painful.
It was painful before, but I managed to adapt to it at the time. Not sure if the fact that I was counteracting the curve helped or not.

I have always had a very sensitive glans and this time around no matter what pads or wraps or foam I use, the pain is too much after just 10 minutes.

I have also had, as some other users have posted, issues with it slipping out over a short time and the coldness at the tip.

I am wondering if any of the other options, like the PMP are easier with the gripping part?

I did read one post about how the Restorex potentially has more tension, but not sure how to compare this.
At this point the Restorex isn't helping at all, so might as well try other options.

Thanks.

Hi WhirlyGig,
I have recently started to use the RestoreX device. Would you mind telling us what the angle and direction was of your curvature when you started using the device please? Also, did you have any other treatment ? I have seen a few posts recently where Xiaflex was used in conjunction with the Rx device, for example.

It is always helpful to bolster one's confidence if somebody has had success with similar symptoms.
Thanks in advance.

I was going to try and post the details from the dr. visit, but I can't find the records and the office has no record of my appointment!
(but I've started a request for them).

Memory serves it was to the side and I think the dr. said more than 45°, which the Dr. thought was a lot.
He recommended the Restorex.

The longer history is, a bad BJ around June of 2018 with an overly eager partner who was determined to 'take it all'... despite my protest.
So about a month later I started waking up in the middle of the night from a painful correction.
I thought it was temporary and didn't think about it too much. Dad was in his final months and I didn't really put together all the pieces yet. (which is why I don't remember the exact details, I had a lot of stuff going on then).

But about the of September the night-time errection pain was off the charts.
My internet searches didn't really point me in the right direction and I had no outward curvature at this point.
I saw my primary care doctor and he didn't mention Peryronies, but did refer me to a specialist, Which I didn't get to see until FEBRUARY 2019.
It took me a bit to put the pieces together and I was naive about Peyronies.
By the time I saw the Uroligist I had figured it out and was really seeking information about what to do.
From what I read, the pain would last about year and then subside...
The nightly pain events lasted at least 18 months, but by then I had already corrected the curve and had not lost much length.

I was also taking supplements to hopefully reduce the plaques.

So from my perspective, the issue should have been acute and resolved. I didn't find this forum until I started my research again this go around.

In the last week I am starting to think that my issues might not be related only to the length, but additional plaques that are more centrally located on the shaft interfering with my 'usual' pleasure sensations. They are much harder than before and not in the same place. Being in the center they are not causing any curve, but obviously they are causing things to be shorter!

Fingers Crossed that I will respond to traction like before, but if I could manage the pain from the clamp better it would be a heck of lot better!

I will say that when I first started using the Restorex I was concerned that the stresses of the traction itself could have been causing more damage.
From what I have read on some posts this is a real concern - basically re-injuring in the process of treatment.

I'm not convinced that what I am going through now isn't related, but the timing doesn't line up.
Perhaps the BJ isn't what caused the problem and I found out too late to find out if there were any hereditary concerns! (not that I'm sure I would have asked anyway!)

I'll post more when I get the medical records.
I thought I had photos, but I can't find them or they are on an old phone.

W

Thanks WhirlyGig,
As somebody with a 50 degree curve ona good day, your information does indeed offer me hope. I too though share your concerns about further damage from the Rx device. I am coming up to a month's use of it now with no improvement yet. Early days though.

I hope you fare well with your latest episode with this dreadful affliction.

I didn't have much hope 'at first' and honestly can't really remember when I noticed a change for the better.
I do remember thinking that things would not get better.

The bigger picture, at 20+ years into a relationship, the bad BJ was from a third party (with an agreed-upon respectful main relationship arrangement, as we had not had sex in over 3 years), and I was not seeking 'company' during the Restorex phase. With the loss of dad and nightly erections that woke me up with pain, other than masturbation sex was not really on the list of things to do.

I will say that the painful erections lasted for at least two years. Even past when I stopped the Restorex.
Everything I had read about Peryonies at the time said 12 to 18 months and I was way past that.
Of course I was pretty pissed to visit my GP and have them be clueless and lose another 3 months waiting for a specialist.

Thankfully the pain was not as severe when I had erections when I was aroused sexually, really only at night for some reason. I have always had strong erections so perhaps at night they were stronger than when I was awake. I do have very vivid dreams and my partner has some very interesting sleep talking videos! (with all the ED advertising out there I'm glad that so far I don't have to worry about that.)

I would not lose hope.

I think most interesting thing I have read lately is the idea that "body mutilation" has been going on for centuries and seeing what people do for decoration gives me hope that you are looking to modify things for the better.

I will add that I did find a document from website that is no longer available that offered some other supplements  that I took.
I'll see if I can find it.

And I am going to get a PMP to see if the gripper is more comfortable for length traction.
My exercises this weekend have revealed some internal issues that I need to read more about, but I have a surprise party to plan for this week!

This sounds horrifying to me. I'm worried if I start mechanical traction, I might experience drastic loss as some point down the line as you did. What do?
