One year in, Stabilised... now what?
« on: April 06, 2022, 10:03:27 AM »

Hi All,

I am 1 year in, since Uro diagnosis and starting treatment.
I believe everything has stabilised - no pain. No Erectile Dysfunction issues.
I have regained some size with PMP and VED - but no increase for last 4-6 months, pretty stable and consistent.
The curve is still present and I guess it always will be....
I am still on all of the survival guide supplements + VED daily and PMP daily (averaging 2-4 hours depending on schedule).
I also take 2.5mg Cialis - but thinking about coming off this soon.
I am in a relationship and have no issues with sex, other than 'navigating' my new curve...

I suppose my question is, do I carry on with all of the daily treatments (above) or can I stop and just keep an eye on it?
Any thoughts from Veterans?

Only thing I have not tried is restoreX - as it seems difficult to get hold of in the UK - would this help with the curve given that I am 1 year in?

Cheers!

I guess it depends on what you are happy with?  Of course we all would like to be back to what we were before all of this, but for the majority of us that is not a reality.  So learning to go on with your life with what you got and maintaining what you got might be the path forward for you.  But if you wish to try and improve your situation more (fix curvature and wasting) and prevent further damage perhaps a more conservative approach may work for you?  Something where you wean yourself off the medication and see how you respond while at the same time still doing your stretches or VED but maybe cutting your sets and/or duration down?  I don't really have the experience to say but I wanted to give you some feedback.  My thoughts are maybe a maintenance type of program might work well for you?  That's kind of my plan long term for myself, to cut back on sets and duration of traction but I think traction might be something I may need to do for a long time, I'm talking doing it for years.

Thanks CDUB - makes sense!
I'm going to cycle the supplements but remain on VED and PMP as much as I can whilst trying to live a bit...

Great news. But I’m with you it still a scary and an uncertain future. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones. If you are able to have a relationship and sex is still good I think that’s like winning the lotto. I would just slowly ween off doing traction and VED. And see what it looks and feels

CDUB seems to have the wisest words here... if you are happy where you are then it's all good.

Every time I see my urologist he tells me "We are not here to bring you back to where you were, we are here to make you functional."  Sounds like you have a routine that did some good for you.  Ease up and see if anything changes, you can always reimplement longer sessions and such.

RESTOREX is good at any point along the way.  I think incorporating that if you can is worthwhile, and the sessions are only 30 minutes at a pop.  So it's a great alternative to spending hours in other devices.

Why do you want to ditch the Cialis? I have been on a low dose daily for a couple of years, and for me it seems to help at least with function and how it "hangs" if that makes sense.  I actually find it is beneficial in the long run.

When you do VED treatments do you pump and just leave it, or is it pump - release - pump... like a cadence?
