Hello everyone - I apologise for this wall of text. I've tried to keep it short; I'd appreciate input from anybody.

A few years ago I believe I injured my penis through sexual activity. I think the same thing may have happened again about 2 weeks ago with unknown cause.

Here's what happened several years ago, no specific cause noted other than :

  • A slight pain at the very base of my penis developed
  • The pain was not actually in my penis, just the very base where it attaches to my body, right below the pubic area. It felt like a slight "pulling" sensation
  • Here's the really weird bit: my penis actually descended over the coming months, as in the base of my shaft now begins about half an inch lower than it did
  • My penis began curving to the left slightly, but never seriously and this cleared up on its own

In the months after, I noticed my penis pointed to the left. Not curved - it was still straight - but it pointed to the left at about a 20 degree angle. My erections also felt less "stable" physically, as if some ligament that connected the base of my penis to the pubic area was damaged. No pain during sex, dick still works, but those rock hard erections have never returned.

Well, about 2 weeks ago I notice it suddenly had gotten worse. My penis seems to exit my body with a slight rotation - this is what concerns me most. Twisting it to correct this is uncomfortable. The pain at the angle between my penis and my body has returned.. the pulling sensation too.

When my penis is flaccid there are no plaques to be felt. I'm struggling to determine whether I have Peyronies Disease or not.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is this an uncommon presentation of Peyronies Disease or something else? I'm open to all theories. My doctor has not been helpful.

This does NOT sound like Peyronies Disease, but my opinion based on an internet description is far from definitive.  It sounds like it might involve the suspensory ligament, but that is an unprofessional guess.

Do you recall any specific injuries or traumas?

The most important thing you can do is get an appointment with a doctor specializing in Peyronies Disease and not a general urologist.  You can also try NSAIDs like Advil and give it some total rest while waiting for an appointment.

there_is_more: Welcome aboard.

If it is not progressing and you still have good erections that allow you to have satisfactory intercourse i would say hang tight and keep an eye on it. Not sure if you are experiencing ED as well? Have you looked for a good specialist in your area?

Not sure if it is actually Peyronies but here is a link that may provide some pointers: https://malefertilityandpeyroniesclinic.com/peyronies/about-Peyronies Disease/

You can also book a virtual consultation with Dr. Landon if you feel like: https://malefertilityandpeyroniesclinic.com/peyronies/appointments/

He or his associates may be able to help you diagnose your situation.

This is my thought as well. Looking at diagrams online, it's exactly where the pain is. The pain is not serious at all and doesn't require any pain medication. In fact, I haven't felt the pain since I made this post. The original injury a few years ago was more painful, but still not serious.

I haven't had sex since this latest occurrence, but I'm confident I still could. I'm just worried that the pointing will make it uncomfortable to my partner. I read about guys having sex with pretty serious curves (rather than a pointing like mine) so I'm hoping my relatively minor left tilt won't be an issue... hopefully. The left tilt is only obvious when erect, if that's at all relevant.

As far as erection issues, partly but not really. Those rock hard erections that I had before the injury just haven't returned and it's a bit more difficult to get hard, but I'm still functioning pretty well. They feel less locked in place, which again makes me suspect the suspensory ligament.

Not sure if it is progressing. I'm afraid that if it is a suspensory ligament issue that it will heal in place, making future corrective work more difficult. I'm also concerned about finding a surgeon who even knows what to do, or if an outcome better than my current position is likely. I know that every surgery is highly risky, especially an unusual one. What do I look for? A penis surgeon? My doctor checked me for plaques and sent me on my way.

Thankyou for the Dr. Landon recommendation. I might check him out to see if we can rule out Peyronies Disease and generally ask his advice.

A tilt of the penis in any direction should have no real impact on intercourse.  Few men have a perfectly straight penis.  Most have natural curves and tilts in every direction of 15 degrees or less.  Some men more.  I am sure your penis can be pulled over to straight anyway,  It is not typical that a penis can't be tilted from the direction it tends to lean.

Women have babies pass through their vaginas.  I cannot imagine a tilted penis being an issue.

As the others have said, it doesn't sound like peyronies disease to me. Like Hawk has said, the best thing to do is not go to a general urologist, it is to find a doctor that specialises in  peyronies disease. Unfortunately there is only so much that can be speculated over the internet. my advice would be do a google search in your area and make an appointment as soon as possible, especially if it is causing you issues which sound to me anyway like its not what you think it is.
