Hello. I am asking for an answer from the boys who have done Doppler or those who understand this. I had a Doppler with an Angiologist who injected 2.5 micrograms of Alprostadil into my penis to check my erection. He left me with porn for a few minutes and then came in. My erection was about 20-25% while he was gone and when he came in I was startled and it started to fall. He did a Doppler and said I had an intravenous leak with an EDV value of about 15.5  . Is it possible that the Doppler has shown a false positive result or do I have to accept the diagnosis? Shouldn't the dosage be about 10 micrograms? When I asked him about it, he said - I can do a Doppler with 10 micrograms, but this will not be a natural erection?!?!?! WTF. Isn't that the idea? When I try to masturbate with us or with a girl, I often have a much, much stronger erection than the one I got in the office. Should I seek another doctor or does it make sense. Opinions? I'm really depressed and I'm asking for an answer
41 years old. Penis fracture in February. Surgery. After fracture - normal erections. Until July. Shock wave - after that I lost my NTE. After Shock waves the PDE5 didnt work.
2020 - already without depression, I'm just trying to get on the right way

Hi Sten1,
I don't have experience with this sort of examination but it seems a bit strange that he would immediately diagnose a leak after such a situation.  I believe you should seek another doctor, but first, I am a big fan of questioning my doctor quite extensively.  I agree with your hypothesis that whether the erection is "natural" or drug-assisted, if there is a leak it should behave the same.  What's more, if your own experience is that you have stronger erections outside the doctor's office (no surprise!), then I think this doctor has some answering to do.
If he doesn't address your doubts satisfactorily then yes, seek another doctor.  And in any case, if the current doctor suggests any kind of invasive therapy or surgery then you should be getting a second opinion anyway.
Good luck!

Hey Sten1

I think that what you are told is nonsense. I remember when i had my doppler exame in 2016, i had a very strong dosage of several components to induce the erection. I was very afraid and nervous and nurse that administered the shot said she errred on the side of caution because of it so i could have an erection. I was then given a tablet to browse for some porn, like you did but i did not needed it. Within 5 minutes i had a rock solid erection.

He telling you that it was not your natural one if he increased the dosage? well, he already injected you so it is not your natural one either? Please look for somebody else that can do an exam on you and don't take these results as conclusive. Also.... masturbating in that office setting can cause a lot of pressure on you, and like you said you normally have better erections elsewhere.

Try not to be discouraged by these results. They are almost certainly inconclusive.
