Around 10 years ago I noticed a couple of small lumps near the tip of my penis, they generated some pain when my penis was erect. My doctor suggested I had Peyronies and sent me to a specialist who confirmed it and said there was nothing that could be done except drastic surgery that he didn't recommend at this stage so I was told to wait and see what happened.

After a few months the plaques seem to go away and then a few additional months later I noticed two more (or possibly the same ones) near the base of my penis, one on each side, the one on the left being larger (about pea size). I didn't take any action hoping these would also go away. However these stayed and caused a dent in the left side of my penis with a very slight curvature to the left but a reasonable narrowing at the base of my penis and some shortening in length.

I have lived this way for around 9 years with no pain, a slight decrease in the fullness of my erections and a reasonably active sex life. I am now 51 and of reasonable fitness, non smoker but with probably an alcohol intake above recommended limits (but who doesn't  ;))
Approximately 1 month ago I noticed that the small plaque which was on the right side on my penis seemed to have been replaced by a larger, harder plaque on the underside of my penis (although it seems to shift a little) I had a little pain initially but not much and it is not causing any further curvature although there now doesn't seem to be the counteracting on the right sight making my curvature to the left more extreme (or that may just be my imagination)

I would now like to try and do something about this before it gets worse rather and just wait and hope like the last time. Not really being much of a vitamin taker (or any regime for that matter) I started looking at some of the Web remedies and suggestions and also bought Ryan Wellman's book "Peyronies Disease Natural Treatments and Cures" I then embarked on the purchase of Unique E, Ultra Gram C, Vitalzym, Nattokinase, Aetyl-L-Carnitine and Lumbrokinase. I have been taking these in signaficant doses now for about 2 weeks.

Now after joining this form I feel I may have been a little "misled" (conned?) >:( by this book and its suggestions as firstly there does not seem to be any reference to Mr Wellman or much credit for his approaches. In addition, I downloaded an E-book, "How to dissolve your Peyronies Plaques Naturally" by William Bodri the "Skeptical Nutritionist" and found the exact same passages of text as in the Wellman book. Are they one in the same? (or just both con artists?)

I now see on your forum suggestions for ubiquinol, pentoxifylline (pentoxil?) etc. I know this is a very complex area with no real solutions however can someone possibly summarize the options that have shown some sort of progress towards helping with this disease so I can focus my efforts and finances effectively.

Thanks Graham

In terms of oral treatments, I would suggest that a useful combination might be:
Pentox, L-Arginine (or l-citrulline), Cialis and Ubiquinol . If you want to expand beyond that I'd add acetyl-l-carnitine and vitamin D.

If you want to take as few treatments as possible I'd go for Pentox and Cialis. Your erection strength should certainly improve, which alone may help, and pentox is certainly a potentially powerful peyronie's supplement.

Are the above treatments available without precription and if so what are the recommeded doses and where are the best sources in the US?

Pentox and Cialis are prescription drugs that you will probably need to see a sexual medicine doctor to get.  The rest are over the counter supplements.  If you make your general location known, someone here can probably recommend a doctor in your area.  - George

Here in europe anyone can buy cialis. All pharmacies sell it to anybody, because they know, otherwise people will buy it on the internet.
And of course they make good money. A one month supply of low dose cialis (5mg) is like 110 euros (about 150$)

For pentox you need a presciption unless you know the pharmacist.

I bought Ryan Wellman's book "Peyronies Disease Natural Treatments and Cures" he suggests using Unique E, Ultra Gram C, Vitalzym, Nattokinase, Aetyl-L-Carnitine and Lumbrokinase etc

In addition, I downloaded an E-book, "How to dissolve your Peyronies Plaques Naturally" by William Bodri the "Skeptical Nutritionist" and found the exact same passages of text as in the Wellman book but more or less the same recommendations."

Are they one in the same person? Do they hold any credibility they sight plenty studies and references in their books and the explanations sound credible?

I also notice that a lot of the posting on this site are from people who have (or had) pain and reasonable curvature. So far I am lucky not to be experiencing either. Is Pentox and Ubiquinol primarily used to relieve these symptoms or does it actually reduce the sizes of the lump/plaque in its early stages?

Thanks again for your help

Grimchap,  I note you are REALLY looking for an answer on the "natural treatments" issue.  With quite a few years experience in trying natural treatments, I can tell you that the ONLY one I found useful for Peyronie's was Acetyl L Carnitine which actually has been verified as effective by credible research.  The others, Unique E, Ultra Gram C, Vitalzym, Nattokinase, Lumbrokinase, etc, are all virtually useless for Peyronie's.  They undoubtedly can have health benefits.  I personally take things like Vitamin C and Nattokinase, but NOT for Peyronie's.  Nattokinase, for example, will do a great job of reducing potentially harmful levels of fibrinogen in your blood, but will not eat away even 1mg of your Peyronie's plaque or scar tissue.  So IF you are taking those sorts of things for Peyronie's, you are wasting your money.  If you are taking them for other issues or for your general health, it *may*, or may not, be money well spent.

If you take the time to read the studies, you will see that both Pentox and CoQ10/Ubiquinol not only reduce pain but also reduce plaque and scar tissue.  I my own case they have made me almost normal again.  Not everybody gets the same amount of benefit from them.  For some guys they are phenomenal.  For others they are totally ineffective.  But most guys fall somewhere in the middle and derive progressive benefit from them as the years go by.  Dr Lue, one of the leading advocates of Pentoxifylline, indicates that he is having significantly greater success with a higher dose than what was previously used.  So, in the future, Pentoxifylline may prove even more effective than it is now and may benefit more guys than it does now.

Hi. I live in Italy and the price is about the same for cialis. I too would like to know if the online cialis which has great prices, is good or is it just a way to lighten my wallet.

I know this post is a bit dated but I wanted to give my updated take for those who are new or have not seen this in the past.

I also bought and read  " Peyronie's Disease - Natural Treatmets and Cures" by Ryan Wellman.  It is a natural reaction for someone to go to online and look for a self help book when presented with a problem allopathic medacine typically does not do well with.

I while back, I commented on the book .  I  then concluded Ryan Wellman  is likely a ghost name and I still stand by that.  I have a premium account on LinkedIn and I did a search for him and there were no authors or nutritionist listed by that name.  When you Google the name you get the book and no other bio or info related to an author or nutrionist by that name. It is likely written by Brodi or whoever is running that website, as Grimchap suggested.  There are plenty of predatory websites on line and even e- books.  They focus on weight loss, ED, peyronies and on anything where people are and  feel vulnerable. Grimchap or anyone else who has done this, don't feel conned as long as you have learned from the experience.

The book references some studies using vitamin E and other things like PABA. It is well foot noted. They are all pretty dated and have relatively small sample sizes.   You could probably find them online.

The book is mostly throwing "Hail Mary" passes at what could in theory work.  i.e. Serrapetase and Vitalzym.  He does provide some interesting reading to anyone interested in health overall but it appears he is mostly stretching any relevance to Peyronies.

In summary the "Author" concludes the Primary natural solutions for Peyronies to focus on are listed in order of Importance:

1. Thackers  DMSO original formula or Jonathan Wrights SSKI formula
2.PABA 8-9 grams a day
3. Vitamin E  (Unique E)
4. A-L-C

If you can get the book from your library or for a buck at a yard sale fine.  Otherwise don't wast your money.

Of the four, A-L-C is the only one that the senoir members of this formum endourse.  Perhaps one of the other 3 have worked for somebody????

If by chance you were helped by one the three top choices, please weight in and share your experience.

If it sounds too good to be true ..........Be your own  "Skeptical Nutritionist"

Age 71, Peyronies from Jan 2009 following penis fracture during sex. Severe ED.
Lost 2" length and a lot of girth. Late start, still VED, Cialis & Pentox helped. Prostate surgery 2014.

James, it is all part of a learning process.

I am still hoping someone will emerge and tell us how one or more of the top three choices below have helped them.  No sarcasm intended.  I hope someone will step forward and share their story, if they have honestly been helped.

Good Luck

Hawk

I hardly thinkit is even up for discussion whether Acety L-Carnatine is helpful or not.  I consider it well established from personal experience, valid studies, and forum response over the past 7 years.  In my case it clearly turned the pain of and on each time I started taking it and stopped.

Hawk.  A-L-C is #4 on the list.

Still interested in anyone who wants to share a positive experience with any of the top three (3) choices below.

Good Luck

Oh I see how it is Goodluck, so apparently you were discriminating and only directing your post to people that can count.  :o
