Traction Contraindications

Hello all,

Firstly, the purpose of this post is to address my primary concern with traction: my penile twist/rotation. Details below:

After a few frustrating experiences with the PMP, I elected to try Restorex to restore lost length and girth.

Short backstory/signature: I developed Peyronies after discontinuing finasteride. I never had any  physical injury to my penis that I'm aware of. Two weeks after discontinuing the drug, I was peeing and noticed that my penis was extremely hourglassed shaped while flaccid. This has slowly progressed over the last two years and now, while my hourglass is still intermittently present while flaccid, is prevalent 100% of the time while erect, near the base of my penis. I've lost a lot of overall girth, ~.5" generally, ~.75 in the hourglassed area. I've also lost around .5" in length, and my penis is now curved upward like a banana between my legs. I have multiple indentations/ridges all the way up my shaft on both sides, but these are symmetrical and new ones have popped up without significantly affecting my penile function/size, if at all, so I don't know if they are a direct result of Peyronies or something that has always been there and is now noticeable due to penile wasting, etc. caused by Peyronies. No identifiable plaques during US or palpation. 2.5 mg of cialis every other day.

I wanted to put my background and current status out there in case any of the above contraindicate the use of Restorex and traction, especially considering that hourglassing seems to implicate circumferential fibers and traction focus more on linear? ones. I know Dr. Trost has been quoted before to have said that traction/VED are not therapies he would recommend for the hourglass deformity, but another user who communicated with him directly has also stated that this was in the context of fixing the deformity, not restoring the size of the penis.

Ultimately, as I stated first, I am concerned with the angle/direction that my flaccid/erect penis hangs, and if this will be made worse by traction. If I were to lay down on my back, my flaccid penis rolls over to the left side and lays as if it were on its left side with the right side up (twist/rotation  at the base). When erect and standing up straight, it veers hard left and also rotates clockwise on its axis. It still maintains an overall upwards angle while doing this. It's as if my left suspensory ligament is very strong/tight and my right suspensory ligament is nonexistent, in both the flaccid and erect state. This occurred to a far lesser degree pre-Peyronies and was almost unnoticeable, but it has become significantly worse in the last year. I'm still able to have sex, as my penis is still straight (without the upward curve), however, the base feels weaker and I have to constantly keep it straight and steady with my hand.

Has anyone experienced improvement/resolution or worsening of anything I described above while using traction?

Thanks, I value all of your guys input.

I completely fail to comprehend your obsession with how your penis hangs in a flaccid state.
Isn't the purpose of a penis to achieve erection and then perform intercourse ?
Anything other that an acceptable hard cock cock is pure nonsense.

Hi all,

I could really use your input with this one. I've been using the restorex for the last four days. I was only doing 15 minutes in the morning and 15 at night to start. I really wanted to take this slow and ensure that my penis adequately acclimated to lower tensions before increasing to higher tensions. I was using the first click position and then extending the tension rods. That's it. Nowhere near my stretched flaccid length or burying the white lines.

The first session was the best. It felt good, penis felt warm and full after. I thought to myself – this is it. The following sessions did not yield the same instant results, but there were no negative results either. After day 3 (yesterday) I noticed an insane spike in EQ. The speed and frequency of spontaneous erections were great that day. NTEs last night and morning wood this morning were strong enough to wake me up and I decided to go walk it off to go back to sleep.

Tonight I did the same routine, although I did it standing with the restorex resting flat on my bed at hip height level with my penis. After closing the clamp, I let my penis sit for about 5 minutes before releasing the tension rods. After releasing the tension rods, I stood for about 10 minutes and then I started to feel a bit uncomfortable. I hardly began to move to change position, I mean hardly, and felt a twinge of sharp pain on the right side of my penis about mid shaft. When I say a twinge, I mean like a little prick at the most. Enough that it was noticeable, but not enough to merit any sort of physical reaction. I took that as my queue to end the session and closed the tension rods and unclamped.

Initially, everything seemed okay. I shook my penis out and put on some pjs and hopped into bed. I checked on it 30 minutes later and noticed it just didn't feel right. The shaft below my circumcision scar was not nearly as sensitive and felt almost numb. It was also girthier than the upper 1/3 of my penis, making it conical. It felt somewhat cold, which I've read can happen when using the restorex and so I decided to let it be. After trying to fall asleep for an hour, I checked it again to find that it was very cold all over. This is in PJs under a comforter. Freaked out, I tried to massage some blood into it and achieve a semi-erection. Very quickly I could feel something was off and turned my phone light on to discover my semi-erect penis curving very much to the right. I've never experienced any curvature except for the slight upwards curve (noted above) that is somewhat congenital and a slight curve to the  left when I'm flaccid and hourglassed. This was very different and a much more substantial, acute curvature to the right.

I'm heartbroken. I don't know what this means. I'm tired of being torn between doing nothing and watching my penis slowly disease or doing my best to be careful and do something, only to accelerate its progression and make things worse. I want to cry. Stupidly, I went to the bathroom and tried to bring myself to a full erection. I was able to achieve one without any curvature to the right, but the top 1/3 of my shaft did not fill up until I was fully erect, leaving me with a shape I had never seen before again.

Does anybody have any idea what this could be? Pelvic floor? I mean, plaques/fibrosis don't show up/resolve immediately, correct? The way my penis has changed and contorted in the last hour is doesn't make any sense, except for that its obviously not a good thing. At this point, do I continue with traction? I'm very lost.

Thanks.

For me, it's becoming an issue when erect as well. My primary concerns are functionality and size. The rotation at the base is affecting functionality by causing instability and also forcing me to hold it straight during intercourse. Thanks for your contribution here.

I think you are right to be concerned about instability. Instability can lead to fractures, or microfractures in my case.  Not saying that will happen to you and I hope it never does, but it is a very valid concern.

About the Restorex, I had something that might be similar happen to me the first night I used it.  My penis swelled up the left side.  I thought at the time that I had induced Peyronies, I was horrified.  After seeing Dr. Levine he assured me that little injury was nothing to be worried about (his take was that I aggravated a circumflex vein).  While it was a little unsightly and a little uncomfortable it ended up not being a big issue, so he was right.  Maybe that is what you have going on?  In any case I gave up using the Restorex.  It may be a good device for others, but not for me, I'm too afraid it will damage you more.  Maybe it's not right for you either.

I'm still playing around with the PMP, but if that does not end up working I will look into noose style stretchers.  That's where I'm at.  Everyone is different

Thanks for your reply cdub. It was a pretty acute response to the device, so I'm not ruling out that I could have aggravated a circumvex vein or triggered a nerve. My penis has been hanging the same today and seems to be its baseline self. But it's crappy , because it takes time for the full extent of any damage to physically manifest with this disease. I'm going to continue traction and hope that it doesn't happen again or make anything worse. I'll reevaluate if something like this occurs again. Sometimes you have to lean into it I guess.

I have a similar problem, my penis has a dent on the left side that makes my penis weaker on that side, causing unestability also because of the narrowing. I tried everything and is not getting better. What I notice is that the VED makes my erections better, but I'm scare to use it because Dr Trost is against its use and also read an article saying that VED can cause corporal fibrosis, but other articles said the opposite. Traction definitely is not hoping me.
My first symptoms started early in 2019
I tried Traction device, Pentofixiline, Q10, TRT, L-Argenine, cialis
I have narrowing/dent/hinge on the left side of my shaft

Quick check in:

I decided to continue with traction. I was able to work up to a point where I am comfortable using the device every time and for the full duration (15 straight 15 counterbend) of each session, twice a day.

I'm still at odds with this therapy and could use some encouragement. I've decided to trust the process and stick to it, but days like today make it difficult. For the last two weeks, traction has been great – normal flaccid hang, fuller and more elastic semi-erections, solid erections, and the euphoria of feeling like you're actually doing something to effectively combat this disease. I've been more excited to do traction than anything else lately lol.

Nonetheless, I've lost my erections these past few days and it seems much worse off – penis comes out of the device very cold and mushed looking, it takes longer to recover from the session, NTEs have been soft and no morning wood. It also feels  much 'lighter' than my normal baseline. One last observation I've noticed: my CS does not fill up as much per usual, although this has been for the last three weeks and not just these past few days. My erections look and feel more oblong and oval/egg shaped instead of round because of it.

Any traction veterans that can assure me this is all par for the course? Or should I treat it like the guys in PE forums and give it a rest for a bit?

Thanks for your input!

Are you heating up your penis before traction ? Might help.

My symptoms are very similar to yours and before I developed epiditimytis I was about 60% cured from VED and hand traction. So I definitely think there is hope.

If you arent doing further damage - i'd definitely recommend sticking to it. Many people here have been healed using restoreX. Just start very slow, don't use too much traction untl you are ready.

Some people more knowledgeable with traction may be able to give you more advice.

Hi all,

Quick update: traction was going really well. I settled into a routine and was feeling almost all of the benefits typically talked about. My BPEL increased by .5" and my MEG by a little over an 1/8" (amazing how noticeable this feels) in just three/four weeks.

That being said, a few weeks ago while in traction, I felt an erection occurring. It wasnt substantial, not even half an erection, and I thought it would pass. After about a minute of it not passing, I decided to remove the device and let it go away.

Afterwards, I was left with a hard flaccid. It took a considerable amount of time for my half erection to go away and afterwards my penis was still very stiff/hard and sticking straight to the left. I've been through that forum, I know the drill, so I focused on relaxing and not freaking out about it and gave traction a break for a few days, but it hasn't really been the same since. After a few days, I scheduled an appointment with a pelvic floor therapist in my area and was able to get in the following week. After session one, I noticed significant improvements and penis returned to its call it "pre-injury" state very quickly, and I also clocked the largest erection to date since all of this started happening. I was happy and relieved and  excited to get back to traction, albeit slowly.

Well, now I can't seem to use the traction device without aggravating this hard flaccid phenomenon, and after my last session, my penis reverted back to its "post-injury" state and has remained that way for the most part. I did another PT session, this time internally as well, and it didn't have the same effects as the initial appointment.

Has anyone had similar experiences as this one? I'd really like to return to traction, but it causes hard flaccid almost immediately and I haven't been able to work around it.

A few notes: it's amazing how complicated pelvic floor/erection dynamics truly are. After seeing my penis almost revert back to its original size and state after a single PT session blew my mind. My PT was also able to show the effects of certain trigger points on the state of my penis I.e he pressed in an area in my perineum and my penis literally contorted and bent to the right. At this point, I know that I'm not dealing with Peyronie's disease, but something else altogether.

Nonetheless, I'd appreciate any insight from others who have experienced similar things. Seeing my erections flux in size on a weekly basis is exciting and stressful all at the same time.

I'm curious if anyone had any luck with the restorex.

I never used a device, but with manual traction something similar happens to you, I feel that many symptoms improve but after a few days they get worse again.
I think traction has to be combined with some other treatment.
It is really frustrating to live with this disease, and circumcision made my penile function much worse.
32 years,injured at 25.
Slight curve, narrowing and retraction in flaccid and semi-erect.
Loss of sensitivity due to peyronie and circumcision  moderate erectile dysfunction, pain.
I improved the pelvic floor with kinesiology.
Frequent urination.

I developed HF one year ago after a traction session with PMP (still having HF).
I'm in the HF community and all of them developed HF after traction, jelquing or hard masturbation.

I think HF is a damage in the dorsal nerve of the penis.

I think traction is more dangerous than what in this forum is said.

Hi all – I hope you're all doing well. Please read my last post on this thread for reference. I'm in somewhat of a similar position since I last posted and could really use some insight.

I'm unable to perform traction therapy due to "erections" and hard flaccid. I put erections in parenthesis because they are not really erections at all, but they still prevent me from performing the therapy. Essentially, my penis is now in a state where the second I begin using the Restorex and clamp the device, my penis begins to engorge. It's completely mechanical and has nothing to do with libido, time of day, etc. the second I pull it straight and clamp down, it begins to fill up and become very spongy (more spongy than a normal semi-erection).

When I was successfully performing traction therapy, I would wait until completing my morning routine to let my morning erection subside before beginning. After that subsided, as soon as I would begin traction, blood flow would typically decrease and it would become more flaccid/soft over the 30 minute session. To underscore what I wrote above: now it's the opposite.

Even more peculiar, if I leave my penis in the device, it becomes engorged and very spongy (soft and 'bouncy' to the touch). What I've noticed over the past few months: If I leave my penis in this state (don't take it out of the device) what happens is it will reach a point and then very quickly contract and the blood is seemingly gone. What I'm left with is a very contracted, but still somewhat elongated penis. What I'm trying to describe is not contracted like after jumping into the ocean. It's more like the actual shaft itself goes from engorged/soft/spongy to narrow/hard/inelastic.

I'm kind of at odds with what to do here. I'd really like to resume traction as it started to restore my penis in ways I haven't experienced in three years with other methods.

Any ideas, experiences, etc. are very welcome.

Thank you!

Ineedtosleep,

I have similar issues - what I noticed is that counter-bending aggravates the dents as there are dents on multiple sides of the penis. I found straight traction with restorex to be somewhat relieving.

With your penis engorging - Check the QnA with Dr Trost on this forum - I remember asking him about the penis engorging (but not an erection) during traction and he did say this should be okay as traction improves EQ. Still use at your own risk. He did also say that restorex has not been studied or recommended for HF (something along those lines). I don't believe I have HF but rather dents on each side causing a twist or possibly injury to the part of the penis inside the body.

I found traction helped with some girth and EQ for me, it's been almost 70 days using restorex. However, you have to be extremely careful. I found that Because we have a flaccid twist it is easy to clamp the glans on an angle and release the tension on an awkward/uncomfortable angle which can result in pain.

I found VED use was much more helpful for restoring dents and girth. Some members here also found VED use to be effective for girth and for a twist (do a forum search).

Hope this helps.

I don't know if keep doing traction, my penis when is semi it drops to the left and is slightly rotated, I wonder if is the suspensory ligament, I don't know what to do, my instability starts deep in the base of my penis. But when is erected I just have deviation/narrowing, should I keep doing traction?
