Mr man

Hello,

I suffered a persistent cough (not covid related). My brother advised chopping up a clove of garlic and swallowing. I do new it with a glass of water.. It was worth a try. The instructions were to use fresh raw garlic. Eating a whole bulb' in a day.

There seems to be an effect on my Peyronie's. The garlic is giving a strong persistent tingling feeling to the damaged part of penis. I will add I am taking pentoxifyllin 300mg
twice daily. Which gives the same tingling sensation. Except the garlic.makes.the effect last for 3-4 hours. Instead of 1-2 hour.

Has anyone had experience with herbel remedies?

I'v only been taking the garlic a couple of days.
Latest routine. Started l-lysine 3mg daily, l-proline 5mg daily. Increased vit c intake. Accompanied with almost daily vacuum therapy. Pumping to 100% Exercise caution! Made good progress. L arginine supplements and prescribed potaba are helping.

There are some reports of garlic being used in conjunction with pentoxyfilline, but for a very unusual disease called oral submucous fibrosis, a disease in which the mouth deteriorates and eventually patients can't open their mouths.  This disease does not seem particularly related to Peyronie's.  Garlic is a known anti-oxidant and there are lots of folk remedies using it.  Clearly the prevalence of garlic in almost all cuisines (except Japanese!) would indicate that humans all over the world consider it both beneficial and flavorful.  I'm sorry I can't tell you that it will cure your Peyronie's faster but at the same time it's certainly worth a try.

I have not heard of any studies suggesting that antioxidants alone have a positive effect on Peyronies Disease, only as a part of a multimodal approach. Anecdotally on the forum, some people have spoken out in favour of taking herbal remedies as antioxidants for Peyronies Disease as it can reduce the likelihood of inflammation in the acute phase.

I have been taking combinations of garlic, propolis, curcumin, vitamin E, vitamin D, blueberries, ginger etc. over the past two years and have had some positive effects. That said, I cannot say whether it has had a positive effect or whether it has been good in combination with traction and VED.

My guess is that it does not hurt to try to take these things as they are relatively cheap and harmless in low doses, but doing that alone will most likely not help you get rid of the Peyronies Disease.
Early 30s, diagnosed with Peyronies in 2017 after trauma during sex. ca 15 degrees upward curvature. Restorex, VED, 5mg Cialis, Pentox, L-arginine, Coq10, Propolis, Vitamin E. Underwent 12 rounds of Verapamil injections 2021-22

UPDATE

So it's been about 5 days since I started raw garlic. There's little doubt in my mind. Garlic is having a positive effect. Or it could also be all the praying i'v been doing?

Anyway, am definitely going to continue garlic and traction. To try and go from 18 degrees bend down to about 13. That's the target.

Will post again in a couple of months
