A recent injury, a slow heal

Days_For_Hope

Hello everyone,

This is my second post. Thank you for this information. I'll pose my main question first: if I am 3 months from injury, healing, no discernible
Plaque... do the indicated over the counter supplements for peyronies serve a purpose?

To expand: For a few days I have taken: 500 mg ALC, 1g L-Arganine, 3.6 g omega-3, and of course, anti-inflammatory. Is this stuff only good if I have plaque? Or will it also mediate a better healing process in general. In short, is it bad or good that I take these?

I have perhaps scar tissue, or a least tightened tissue over my areas of injury. Doc spots no plaque, the pelvic floor PT feels tightness.

Generally, things are improving, though I am far from healed. The original injury was at the corpus spongiosum near the glans where I felt a tingle with kegel. The pain was at once limited to ejaculation/urination pain, and then thus advanced from lack of rest :( With great shame my injury was from, yes, penis enlargement exercise which I deeply regret (my long-term partner was making fun of my size constantly, and well, it obviously affected me). I shall never abuse myself in such a way again. I am now here asking the experts these healing related questions, which I am grateful to have the opportunity to do.

I'll pose my second question at the end of this paragraph. Currently: my pain is fascia just under what is the frenulum. Pee pain has subsided. Accidentally sitting on the penis hurts quite a lot. Unnatural bodily positions (such as a deep reach into my car whilst standing outside the door can cause a feeling of stretch/pain to the tissue surrounding the urethra within the glans (the thinnest and least proximal end of what is CS I presume). So my question: With rest and pelvic floor PT, are there similar injuries which have undergone healing and those people have returned to what is a normal(ish) sexual life?

My friends, thank you for reading. I have read many of your posts, as well as the the survivors guide just in case this develops into peyronies.

Hi there,

First things first, can you please fill out your profile signature? https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,10819.0.html
Explain what your injury is, age, relationship status, diagnosis, treatments, etc.

Do you have curvature? How are you erections? It's a little confusing exactly what your issue is, what did the urologist say?

Your supplements look good for helping produce erections. If you have some slight scarring/scar tissue, this is a bit trickier to heal directly but still possible. Have you read the survival guide?

Hi Richard,

I am 33, single with a diagnosis of penile pain, no plaque yet. My erections are still painful, but in a different location from original injury, which is now just to the left of the CS under the glans. There is a very slight curvature left when semi erect. The urologist said to rest it for three months. I am also going to pelvic floor PT which was indicated by them. I am taking anti inflammatory med. I was prescribed Valium 2 weeks ago to cease night time erections because they were painful. I am now on half dose of Valium 2.5 mg until feb. I started taking supps thinking it would help mediate a better healing process. I certainly have light scarring since I had felt the tissue rip ever so slightly at time of erection in initial injury stage when the pelvic floor was very tight. The injury areas can tingle, hurt, feel like they're pulling. My plan is rest and pelvic floor PT

I wonder if I should cease the supplements if they are going to counter act the Valium and give me erections more easily.

I had to go through PT therapy for my broken tailbone/pelvic floor and it did help me. I have to keep up with my walking and leg squat exercises though to keep things toned.  I disagree with eliminating normal nighttime erections. These supply the penis with fresh oxygenated blood and hormones and keeping things "stretched out". I know you are experiencing pain and it does hurt. I have used heat therapy for my pain and it did bring me relief. I too deal with body inflammation/arthritis and take multiple supplements to keep things at bay. Drinking lots of water is very good for the body.

Mikel,

Thanks for your kind reply. I'm still getting NTE even on 2.5
mg of Valium. And I can get erections in the day spontaneously. Maybe I'll try using heat before bed. I'm also still getting NTE pain, which went away after 3 days of Valium and rest (then erections in daytime weren't painful :) but...then got worse after the PT had me do some kind of myofsascial release of penile tissue. Big mistake. I'll try heat. I'll try PF relaxation first thing in morning and before bed and heat in the day.

I went to the gym just now for the sauna, sat on one of the machines briefly b/c the PT said upper body was okay. When I sat, my I felt the tight (scarred?) tissue in my penis shrivel up painfully. It's really really hard to recover from this. I feel like I've made progress but that I also have tight (scarred?) tissue in new parts of the penis now too. I'm better than when I felt it rip a little two weeks ago, then woke up that night in the worst pain of my life, then the next night had to go to ER with the newest worst pain in my life, nerves being involved.

The PT says healing is not a linear process. So far all I know is I have to watch how I sit, how I stretch my body, and how I have to handle my penis very gently and not like it bend or bounce if I get a random erection. Any other advice or stories like mine where progress and healing occurred would be helpful for me right now.

Thank you for reading.

For me the healing was also just like what your PT has told you. It was like I took 2 steps forward in healing then 3 steps back. At first I had to do my stretches and exercises very slow and controlled and build up my strength slowly. You will get through this in time. I know it is a literal pain in the hine dend.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm now on Vit E and C based on the first peyronies expert I've seen (I had only seen PAs at my local hospitals)

The pain is bad, scarring around the urethra and behind the frenulum. Nerves get involved when it's really bad. The peyronies doctor told me to stay on Valium, but he was mostly referring to my anxiety. He says that in my specific local of scar there a 50% chance of the urethra closing at some point in my life.

Mostly I just want to be out of this level of pain and get back to some kind of exercise. Since the doc told me to rest completely for 10 days, I told my PF PT that we need to hold off. It was her after all who suggested the tissue massage of the penis, which was a huge mistake. I'm back at what feels like square one right now. I hope it won't be too much of a rough night, like the ER nights from 2 weeks ago.
