I'm 61 years old now. All started a couple of years ago with a little indentation and bend on the left I noticed suddenly one morning. No apparent trauma that I remember, but a month or two of pain at the end of the shaft just below the gland, and a medium prostatitis preceded the unfortunate discover. I've seen 3 urologist since then. The first said that it was Peyronie and that he didn't treat that kind of disease. He sent me to another doctor (not a specialized one) that tried to treat me with procaine (once called gerovital) injections on the penis (many). First 500€, no result. The pain got better for a while but the disease followed its way. Then a second urologist that proposed me
Verapamil treatment but I didn't followed that. I had just heard of the magic of
Xiaflex and I hoped it could do the spell, it was the beginning of 2019 summer. Estimated cost at the time was about 6000€ for 3 injections. Quite a lot, but, you know... I've started with a third urologist, that prescribed me an eco-color-doppler, caverjet to see the curvature, photos, everything seemed to work as expected, but at the beginning of November when we had to start the 3-4 injection of Xiapex treatment he told me that the producer had withdrawn it from the market everywhere except the US, and the price had risen to 6000-7000 USD because it has been proved very useful for cellulite treatment, apparently a much more appealing market. Other 700€ for me to pay without any result. Then started the covid-19 nightmare, the lockdown and restrictions to do lots of things. My problem got worse and I could not find any help. Now the bend is between 70-80 degrees when the erection is at its best, with an
hourglass at the shaft basis, the penis is thinner and shorter, and every morning I wake up at 5 due to the pain (well is more a kind of discomfort or slight pain, but sufficient to wake me up). I still can have some sexual intercourse with my very patient wife, but the fear that something worst can happen at any moment is always present (breaking of the penis for example). And I skip all the emotional, psychological, male gender related problems that I suppose you all are well aware of. Conclusion: I'm stuck in my situation and out of move. I don't trust very much webstar urologists (the last was one of, an expensive one also) and anyway I don't know any urologist specialized in Peyronie treatment that works in my town (Rome, Italy), nor my family physician does. And I don't know what to do at my stage, that after 2 years I suppose is quite advanced. Any idea? Any physician's name in Rome that you could suggest me to contact? Anything I could start to do? I've done some manual
traction, but it seems a very long way (if it works and if it safe, I'm not sure of both things...). Any help would be much appreciated. It's really weird for me to ask these things on a website, but who knows?
