Can high doses of vitamin d cause peyronies?

I was watching some youtube videos promoting high doses of vitamin d (10,000iu/day and even higher for some conditions). I noticed someone in the youtube comments mention that they developed peyronies after taking high dose vitamin D, although they didn't say how much or for how long. I was taking those type doses for several years before my peyronies developed pretty rapidly. I know Dr Coimbra and others have had 1000s of patients on very high dose (100,000iu/day) for years for specific medical issues and have never heard this reported. Nevertheless, tissue calcification sounds similar to peyronies and excess vitamin d can cause that although it appears very rare. I have taken vitamin K2 to prevent this for years but it still is concerning. Anyone?

I found a study that concludes there is a direct link:

Is high levels of vitamin D a new risk factor for Peyronie's disease?

People riding bikes, taking Vit D, having Vit D deficiency, Masturbating, not masturbating, smoking, not smoking, all get Peyronies Disease.  I got it after I started learning to play the guitar.

My point is humans search for cause and effect.  Without extensive well-engineered studies to show cause, we look for anything to hang cause on.  A guy taking vitamin D then getting Peyronies Disease is about as useful as a guy who said he started to drink eight glasses of water a day and developed Peyronies Disease within three weeks.

There is zero evidence even suggesting that Vitamin D at any dose causes Peyronies Disease.

I literally just posted a published study finding a link between high vitamin D and peyronies.
Vitamin D isn't water, it's a hormone that increases calcium uptake.
Calcification is a signature of Peyronie's plaques.
This isn't even remotely controversial.

32.6 ± 7.9 ng/ml vs. 18.5 ± 6.6 ng/ml respectively. p < 0.001).

Depending on your reference range, neither of these are high and may even qualify as deficient.

It's a very interesting idea but the numbers from this study do not imply a "high" dose whatsoever. Excess vitamin D would be around 50 ng/ml levels which neither group is remotely close to.

It's an abstract and one study... in the same database there are two studies one saying low testosterone puts you more at risk and then another saying it is not a factor.

I would say... it could be.  Definitely something someone is looking at.  But I don't think we have any definitive answers of anything that causes Peyronie's.  It remains a mystery... I think we all suspect certain factors and contributing things.  And it may be smart to avoid super high doses of any vitamin really... they all seem to be beneficial in the right doses and harmful at super high ones.

Snake Diet + 5-day fasts + pentox + NeoV's stretching routine + Mito Red Light. Curvature 99% gone.

I also used Todd Capistrant's "Fascial Distortion Model" to help my curvature. Start slowly.

I've been taking 500IU Vit D daily since March 2020 - because of the immune system against covid.

I've started to wonder if this sustained high dose, plus a multivit which has vit D, plus getting lots of sun exposure as I do, has had an effect.

I've stopped Vit D as of yesterday, and I've got high dose K2 on the way, for what good it might do.

Does it have to be MK4? Or is MK7 sufficient?

I've got MK7 - as far as I can tell it's just where it's derived from, doesn't have any kind of different effect. I may be wrong.

Oh crap I also take a vitamin D pill everyday (125mcg or 5k IU) and also take 2 multivitamins as well. After reading this I think I should stop it, so I might just do that.

Any update on the K2? My vitamin D3 supplement is supposed to contain it. I suspect maybe not enough or maybe not at all.

I'm afraid not. So far no supplements have done anything I can see.

Where did you even get this idea from? Also I do not know what those dosages will even do for a human being...

100k IU a day? What the hell?

You literally need no more than 5000 IU a day. This is what I have been taking for years and my D levels are good!

This theory is nothing but rubbish.
