Hi, have had a great sex life, but started to notice more curvature, decline in erection quality and shorter.   Wife doesn't see any issues.  Still can penetrate.  Ordered the restorex, first treatment with Xiaflex on Monday.   Reading all of the literature on the internet a little nervous.  They did ultrasounds on my penis, induced an erection, my doc is very knowledgeable, great credentials.   Wondering if I should wait or jump in.  Figure I should try and save what I have.

If your insurance covers the Xiaflex and you feel solid with your doctor it is worth trying.  You can expect roughly a 20 degree improvement, so for you that would make things more manageable.  It is better than surgery which could mean more shortening.

Don't be too nervous.  Normally Xiaflex can cause bruising and discoloration.  I had swelling that seemed alarming, but it went down after a day or two.  I learned quickly to keep the wrap on (that minimizes the swelling).

You won't be perfectly cured, but the chances for improvement are strong.  I would say go in, try not to be nervous, and follow instructions.

Using Restorex and took oral medications as well (Pentox Cials)

The difference between success and failure with Xiaflex rests mostly with the skill and experience of the physician.  Hopefully, he has MANY Xiaflex procedures under his belt.

I would like to add something valuable to Hawk's comment above. In addition to medical practitioner application skill, modeling (physical therapy) following injections is crucial.  Without performing this activity following injections as indicated by Xiaflex literature , a patient is wasting potential success.

If you are able to  have sex and your wife is fine with it I wouldn't do xiaflex. I don't think the benefits outweigh the risks. Read through the post. Most people don't have any results with xiaflex, only become worse or at best stay the same. I would say enjoy the time you have and once it's gets to the lint where you can't penetrate anymore then try it. Because at that Libby you have nothing to lose.

I have to agree with this.  Unless your doctor is EXCEPTIONALLY skilled with Xiaflex you are risking making things worse.   I have been here long enough to hear hundred of men obsessed with regret for making their functional penis worse with a list of procedures and actions.  Do NOT rush into this.
