Can using VED with an inguinal hernia cauese any more pain or discomfort or damage? Or can VED cause a Hernia?

My urologist said it absolutely cant (physically not possible) but I rememebr hawk posting here to be cautious of VED causing a hernia.

I feel like the hernia is making my peyronies worse - almost like when the scrotum is swollen the right side of my penis is under more pressure which results in pain.

Hopefully this makes sense!

I have had 2 double hernias on both the left and right and I can say that it could put
some strain in that surrounding area. I have 2 double meshes implanted and when I do VED I have to make sure it is placed in a specific area on top of the sutures so I don't get sore. My first hernia was almost strangulating and it required me getting it fixed quick.  The bulge was about 2 inches across and about 3/4 of an inch protruding out. Nothing to mess with.

Ah thanks so much! so after the mesh I should be very cautious when doing VED?

Also did you find the hernia effected your Erection at all? I feel like mine does but urologist said it cant.

It took me about 6 months to fully heal. It felt like I re-injured myself from walking on a treadmill about a month after the operation. My Dr examined me and said that I am just getting used to the sutures pulling on that area and a healing over of tissue takes time. After 6 months though my erections came back just as strong and sex was great with no difference in detecting what was there.

Thanks so much so it can actually effect your erection. Dno why my Urologist and GP said it will have no effect on erection quality.

Would you recommend stopping VED aftr surgery for a while?

And has the meshes impacted your physical life for e.g are you able to go to the gym etc?

I can do everything now with no restrictions. I have a very strong lower stomach area where the mesh is . Total coverage area is from left to right 3 inches wide by about 8 inches long. This was from 2 operations - 1994 and 2000 and I have 2 long scars left behind. I squat and runt , etc...

Hey - how long after surgery do you recommend VED?

That is something you'll have to test out for yourself. I didn't have peyronies back then
but I remember just kind of slowly getting back into the groove of things. I started walking everyday for about a month before I actually started back into the gym with squats and leg exercises. Your body will let you know just how much it can take.

Mikel7 - any advice ? I'm 7 weeks post op and still get pain near right side hip after walking. Very reluctant to go back to the gym and its affecting my mental health.

I'm confused as to when i can start traction and have now being diagnosed with trauma induced Epididymitis.

Just a few questions if you dont mind:

1. When did you feel like you could go back to running/gym?
2. You said you had ED until six months post op - did it just slowly return?
3. I still get pain in the areas where the hernia was/would effect however, doc says everything is healing beutifully - did this happen to you?

Sorry I'm a bit depressed and paranoid about further injury. Some of these things have set me back years.

Thanks in advance for your reply

I felt like going back to the gym about 6 weeks after operation and boy was I sore down there . I remember also being very worried  about everything tearing, but the Dr also said all looks fine. My erections did return, but this was also a slow process. Your pain is from the area healing over the suture area. Did your Dr put in a mesh or just sew everything back together? It is the healing and stretching that is causing your pain issues. It will subside I assure you.

They put in a mesh on both sides. Was this yor process too? I'm very reluctant to go back to the gym and even do light weights now.

I noticed in your signature youve been doing VED and traction - have you seen much results?

I also had mesh implanted. Your body in tine will heal over everything and form very strong scar tissue and your abdomen will be tight and firm. I was also scared and worried about resuming gym activities but in time things improved. I also have seen some results with VED and traction.
