Restorex Mods - Make up pads for super comfortable usage

Below is a picture of the Mod for the Restorex that I tried from a posting that Dr Trost spoke on.  It is basically a makeup pad with a strap on the bottom.  He stated , "You can basically attach them to the clamp using the attached strap, and then you don't even need to wrap the penis.  They are a game changer for the device with comfort, and I'm hoping that the company will include something like that in future kits ."

I went ahead and ordered a pack of them and all I can say is WOW!  I tried it with one on the top and bottom and I had no slippage at all!  I also didn't even need a wrap!  You can buy them on Amazon -->https://www.amazon.com/BEAKEY-Blending-Available-Products-Non-Latex/dp/B07G4S2YDP .

For additional gripping action you can dampen the pads with water before use.

A big thank you Dr Trost for posting this info!!

Thanks for sharing the idea and the link to Amazon - I've ordered a pack of pads to try.   :D

Thanks for sharing and providing the photos as well. This looks great, way less hassle than my current approach.

If this works, it could be a game changer.  I wrap a lot, and it can be painful sometimes to unwrap.  I will certainly try this out.

This was a very good post. Like others said, thank you for the pictures. The fact that you don't need to wrap your penis is a game changer definitely!

Thank you for this - defs a gam changer.

I use to use the sponge technique but my penis kept slipping out of the clasp. Does this happen with the sponge at all? Or any advice?

I bought the make-up sponges from Priceline a cheap chain store in Australia selling women's health and makeup gear.
Costs $8.95 they are excellent  and no slippage on stretch or the more prone to slippage full 120° bend.
Good luck guys to those that persevere with RestoreX.

Can someone please explain the strap? i.e how are they taping it to the clamp - double sided tape?

Thank you for this posting! it's a huge game changer for me as I was suffering from constant irritation using the self-adhesive tape, and was considering stopping with Restorex completely. I just ordered some pads and I'm looking forward to trying them out.

One question - are they good for more than one usage?

Hello! Good on you. I personally think that restorex is the way to go. Yes, you can use them more than once and it comes with a lot of them. I am loving the difference it makes.

Good luck. I invite you to make a post about them and the renewed experience as soon as you try them out!

The make up pads indicated in the link if shipped to Italy cost three times more (about 30 $).

Here is an alternative for less than € 10:

I didn't buy the American ones and can't make a direct comparison, but from the description they look very similar. To the test they are actually absolutely better than the supplied self-adherent wrap which for me is practically unbearable, in particular for the abrasive effect on the skin.

I tried washing the pads and reusinng them, but they become thin and uncomfortable after 2 washes. I was also able to use the strapless pads that come in the bag after securing them with double sided tape. They were just as comfortable as the strapped pads.

Great catch, Mike!

Picked up a set of pads from your Amazon link.  Been using for several days and found them far superior to self stick tape which also self sticks to my penis.

Only issue is reduced space for clamping but very small issue.  If edge of glans is located at ridge in the clamp base, I have seen no slippage.

Henry1953

After a month of medication to clear my genital warts that popped up after a several weeks of Restorex, I restarted and so far no warts, growths, or red skin irritation. I went back to using the adhesive tape simply because I had so much trouble without tape trying to place my penis properly, with the glans above the the clamp's ridge. I'm using less tape, maybe 1.5-2 wraparounds, and wrapping much more lightly than I was before. It's allowing me to place the head easily without slippage, even when doing the curvature at level 3 (which is my max at this time). As long as I slowly peel off the tape there's very little friction or pull on my skin. I do wish there were a tape that was soft on both sides with a sticky tab to keep it together. Maybe I'll try that with a soft bandage and a regular bandaid holding it together, just in case it starts irritating me again.
Also, I have noticed a 1/2" increase in length during full erection. I almost cried.
Patience is more than a virtue, it's the only way to get through this. Good luck one and all.

Good to hear Henry!

I'm finding slippage now when using the extension rods with makeup pads. Thinking of other options as well but the tape is just too uncomfortable.

Happy you have seen results!! How long have you been using Restorex?

I had used Restorex for 4 weeks when I noticed a small wart on the underside near the glans. My urologist prescribed Imiquimod cream which I used for a month and the wart disappeared without any irritating side effects. If the wart reappears then he'll remove it in office. Would really like to avoid that. I want to get through the recommended 3 months of Restorex and then assess the situation. If I'm not happy with the results I'll probably avoid plication and go straight to the incision surgery. Doing research on that now. I'm not overly concerned about the almost 2" of length I've lost, but I really do want to get rid of the curvature, which veers to the left at 30-35 percent. Even though I can attain a 90% erection at this time, I'm dealing the prospect that my sex life most probably will never be the same, which at times can be very depressing. Thankfully this forum is a lifesaver, figuratively speaking, for me. Thank you for your input, there is much comfort in knowing that I'm not alone with this problem, which is a medical condition I'd never even heard of until 18 months ago. That said, my heart especially goes out to the younger men who are dealing with this. It's difficult to live with this, but because of this forum I feel there is some hope of resolving it.
Regarding a substitute for the tape, I'm checking out various other tape-related products that might make it easier to a consistently strong and painless grip. I'll of course post anything I find that might work.

For anyone interested - I found those rectangular makeup pads to be clamping my head in an awkward and tight position which started to give me pain in both the glans and shaft (perhaps the penis was being stretched on a slight angle?).

I changed the mod to circular makeup pads with sports tape that tapes directly onto  the pad, this seems to be much more comfortable and gives a better stretch.  See pic.

I just got the pads from that link.  Much appreciated.  I JUST ordered the RestoreX too.  I've had Peyronie's for I would estimate about 8 or 9 months.  I'm hoping it's not too late to get started.  I've been doing hand stretching and taking the recommended supplements plus pentox and a quarter viagra per day.  I'm at about 60 degrees.  Makes it hard to get in.

Bmarc - definitely not too late! Lot of people here had peyronies for years, some were able to cure themselves with traction and VED even after all those years - have a read through the forums.

Best of luck,

Great find! Just slip the pads on, adjust the clamp height, and bob's your uncle...instant comfort. Or at least as close to comfort as it gets :-). Like those pads were made for the job.

I got a set of makeup pads delivered and wow, what a difference. RestoreX traction alone ain't no peach and the tape was at best uncomfortable. The pads make "yoga" much more tolerable.

I tried these, and they are not suitable uncircumcised men. If you are circumcised, avoiding the foreskin is a big part of clamping. With these cylindrical foam pieces, you can't see your foreskin and have to clamp blind.

The washable memory foam is nice, though. Should be great for circumcised men. If anyone wants the 4 unused pieces, contact me and I'll mail them to you.

I see what you mean about it being more difficult for uncircumcised men. That said, I am not circumsised and using the sponges work great for me. It is a bit tricky to pull back the foreskin with the sponges blocking the view, but I got the hang of it after a while. It is tricky but way more comfortable and leads to less skin irritation than my previous wrapping approach, but that is just me.

I agree the foam cylinders are way more comfortable than wrapping, but makeup pads are nicer still. You don't need to wrap and can see what you are doing.

When I tried makeup pads, it was certainly more comfortable than the wrap; however, the stretch felt different somehow.  A bit hard to explain, but with the wrap it feels like a more focused stretch from where the ridge is on the clamp and along the top and bottom of the penis (and the top is where the scar tissue is). With the pads it feels like the stretch is more "spread out," less focused somehow.

My concern is whether or not the RestoreX will be as efficient with the pads as with the wraps (I would hate to spend 3-6 months doing it wrong and get less results).  On the other hand, the wrap is a challenge and more comfort would be great.

Thoughts?

I just joined the forum and this is my first post. So glad to have found this community.
Finally purchased Restorex after considering it for a while and consulting a doctor about it, and started using it 4 days ago. Found the clamp very uncomfortable, even with wrapping. Found this topic yesterday and went straight out to buy some makeup pads. They are indeed a game changer! It's actually comfortable now.

I ordered the make up pads, and they do almost work great but even with the hinge side of the clamp in the wider position, I can't seem to close it on my glans without pain;  it's hard to lock and the clamping pressure hurts.

I might try the foam too,  but curious as to whether anyone has found similar but thinner pads?
Early 50s, Peyronie began mid 2022 as pain, dent near base, curve toward dent, then became waisting/hinging into upward curve. Currently on Pentox/Cialis/Arginine, + Restorex.  Seeing Dr. Carrion, Xiaflex round 1 completed on 7/12/23

RexRG

Hey, Dent.

Your condition sounds a lot like mine. We might have slightly large glans which makes it difficult to clamp. Remember not to clamp the shaft at all. What I do is position slightly right rather than center and only press to one click. Then I ratchet up a couple clicks until the stretch feels tight. After a moment or two I usually can get a second click on the clamp - only one click on the clamp will often cause slippage.

I use a USB warming wrap afterwards for the coldness. Sometimes starting with that first.

Dent-n-curve

Thanks, Rex!

Yeah, I don't know that my glans is anything more than "regular size", but it's still a challenge.

I guess you could say this apparatus is a pain in the dick overall, lol. Tough to get it clamped comfortably and then just when it seems securely "in there", I can't really get into *any* amount of counterbend without it eventually slipping out. The pads seem like a "last hope" in some ways, but man.

Hey Dent.  I had to try a couple different types of makeup pad before I found one with enough grip/friction to hold and not slip out.  The brand is called Quo, but it's Canadian, available at Shopper's Drug Mart here, so unfortunately it's probably not available in the US.  But hopefully you can find a good option where you are.  Best of luck to you.

I did not realize this post was from 2021. I just saw it today for the first time and immediately ordered the makeup pads. I also have gotten a second base for the Restorex, so I use one for down counterbending, and the other for left counterbending. Cost me $25 for an additional base. That way I don't need to swap out the rods each time. Although I do need a second set of short rods, because with the long rods I can only get to 90 degree counterbend comfortably. After stretching for a while I can get it to 120, but I would prefer to be at 120 the whole time.
Mid 50's. Done 8 rounds of Xiaflex (16 injections). Very MINOR change. Started with 45 degree upward bend, but then for fun it added a turn to the right. Presently at about 30 up and 30 right. Focusing now on twice per day Restorex, every day.

Pfract

Just learned something today. The price seems very reasonable for a second base.
