What-to-do

Hi. I developed Peyronies in May of '20, I believe from a single event of a very firm erection while sleeping with very restrictive underwear. I was woken up by the pain of it and Peyronies developed from there. I have at least a 50 degree bend and a "waist". I have been to two urologists for consultation, but have not done any treatment yet. The first urologist recommended that I do nothing until the pain is gone, indicating that the plaque is fully developed and the condition is stable. I still have pain during erections. I recently started seeing Dr Eid, who I see is a frequently mentioned doctor in these posts. I am considering an implant in large part because I have struggled with PE and ED throughout my life. Dr Eid said that due to the great degree of bend I will probably need incision and opening on the inside of the bend where the plaque is, then grafting with the implant in order to straighten it enough. A four hour operation he says. It's a very scary prospect. I am married 26 years, but have not had intercourse in over a year due to this. My sex life with my wife has never been robust. I am hoping that an implant could help turn that around to some degree. I still don't know which direction to turn though.

Welcome to the forum What-to-do. Dr Eid is a very respected surgeon with excellent skills and patient satisfaction. You should read through the implant journals and talk with Hawk as he has firsthand knowledge about an implant.  If you are having erection difficulties with peyronies I think that an implant is the way to proceed. About the incision and grafting I don't have any info regarding that. Others will chime in.  :) Mikel7
