Hi guys,

I didn't know till now that pentoxifylline has relationship with the inmune system; it seems to be an inmunomodulator of the TNF-apha.

What does this mean? It makes our inmune response to be weaker? stronger? or what?

I am asking this because four weeks ago I developed fungus in the glans and tongue (and I think herpes too, but I have to show the pictures to the doctor to confirm). Once in treatment, the fungus in the glans dissapeared quickly but the tongue ones took up to 2 weeks.

Everything seemed to be ok, but couple of days ago I started again to develop fungus in the tongue.
To me is very weird, I've never have fungus in the tongue, and now this happens?...

I've been taking pentox for 1 year straight. Right since the onset of the disease.
For how long can be taken pentox?

I know there are many ways to develop fungus; one is a deficient inmune system, so I started to wonder about this issue.

I don't have an answer to that, sorry.

I've been taking pentox for almost a year too (3x/day) and I plan to start (in December or January) slowly reducing the intake.

Something like:
3x every other day for 1 month
3x every two days for 1 month
2x every day for 2 months
...

And continue with this process to see if there is any negative impact. My idea is to quit pentox in mid/late 2022.
