Hey Dr. Trost it's awesome to have you here. I have a question in regards to erectile stability in which I notice that when erect it's wobbling to either side or up and down relatively easy. This makes sex a lot more uncomfortable than it used to be and also feels like a potential danger. I have developed a curve to the rignt along with unstability at the base when erect so my question is if this is caused by eq not being good enough because of scarring or if damage has been done to ligaments. I do have a noticeable dent on the left side which def makes me believe there is some sort of scarring. But at the same time I do not know if this unstability is caused by Peyronies or potentially torn ligaments, how does one differentiate that?

In response to your question - Yes, Peyronies Disease can and usually does cause instability, much like when any cylinder (a pipe or a toilet paper roll) has a dent in it.  It can withstand far less resistance before it buckles.


You don't give any background about when you first noticed this "wobble." Still, the likelihood that you have ligament damage independent of Peyronies Disease is doubtful unless you had a memorable, significant injury.  If the wobble seems to be internal rather than in the visible external shaft, it could mean that you either have a dent or hourglass deformity in the internal part of the penis and/or that your erections are not as firm as they were before you developed this "wobble"

If it feels like it could cause injury, it probably could. So precautions would be to try daily Cialis and have well-lubricated sex.

My bad Hawk and thank you for your reply. I definitely see an hourglass shape a little below the head and as you said the erections are definitely not as firm as they used to be. I have also heard that ligament tears or sprains are really painful and I do not remember anything that caused such pain. All happened during sex with girl on top and I felt a little pop and had a sore penis for maybe 2-3 days and since then the angle has never been the same, it used to point up and now it just points straight out and to the right.

Might be the case for both of us we've had some sort of trauma to the ligament but also what Hawk said makes much sense. When you have scar tissue in the penis and it doesn't fill out as evenly as it used to it's only natural for it to become unstable since one or multiple spots don't engorge and expand with blood as they used to.

That makes sense. Do you have any torsion at all? When flaccid I have torsion and it bends to the left. When erect, it pops out and towards the left. The entire base is pretty loose now when both flaccid and erect. I suspect I caused further damage to myself and pulled with too much tension with traction, quite depressing to see.

Yeah, it's a weird one. While flaccid sometimes it's completely straight and other times it's twisted to the right. I have a quite noticeable dent on the left while flaccid/semi erect and also a smaller one on the right and this has created a bottleneck deformity below the head. I have zero clue how this has happened but sadly it is what it is, my biggest issue is I think about it too much and have let the changes to my penis affect my daily life too much because I keep dwelling on how great my penis looked and worked only 2 years ago.

I was 27 when my issues started so getting this type of problem this young is never easy imo the psychological aspects are the worst.
