Hi all,

I started using the PMP earlier this week after discussing it with my urologist. However, she couldn't really give me any advice on how to use it. Hence, I have some questions for the more experienced users.

Duration
- I'm currently using it for approximately 2-4 hours per day but want to move toward 9/10 hours asap. I was wondering whether it's important to start slowly (and, if so, whether there is a protocol for increasing the duration) or whether I can use it for 9/10 hours right away?

Tension
- I have the same question for tension: do you build it up slowly or is it fine to start with more tension? I've mostly been in the 460-920g range thus far.

Direction
- Does the direction in which I wear the device matter? My curvature is lateral (left) and dorsal. I've mostly been wearing it while sitting in my office chair so it's either perpendicular to my body or points downward. If I wear it while standing up, the device usually starts pointing leftward automatically because of my curvature.
- Can/Should I switch up the direction in which I'm wearing the device during a 2-hour session? I feel like it would be more comfortable if I were to wear it upward or downward for a couple of minutes every hour but I'm a bit worried that doing so would negatively affect the device's effectiveness.
- Is there a way to use this device to reduce penile torsion?

Rod length
- The instructions that came with the device told me to ensure the rod length is equal to my SFL + 1.5 cm. However, there's no way I can use it if I do that. I can only manage to start with my SFL - 2 cm and then adjust the threaded screws as I'm wearing the device. I'm not sure whether this might be related to hard flaccid or to the way I measure my SPL (bone-pressed, non-flexible ruler). I'm worried that my rod length is shorter than it should be but I also don't want to get carried away and reinjure myself. How did you figure out the right rod length? How does it relate to you BPSFL?
- One of the rods on my device (left) comes off when I twist it a couple of times (see picture below). Does anyone know how to fix this problem (i.e. how to attach the left rod so it stays in place no matter how much I twist it)?

Application
- I'm experiencing some discoloration on the dorsal side of the glans because it doesn't fully enter the vacuum chamber to begin with and/or partly slips out while I'm using the device. I don't have any blisters or wounds; just some redness. I've tried the blue and beige latex parts (the green ones look like they would be too small, but I'll give them a try soon). I've also tried to adjust the diameter of the entrance of the vacuum chamber with the plastic parts that come with the device but this was very painful upon usage. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and managed to fix it? Could this be related to the way I insert my glans into the chamber?

Lubrication and cleaning
- What do you use for lubrication? I tried the PMP lubricant but didn't really like it because it's so sticky. I replaced it with a water-based lubricant but suspect this might contribute to the abovementioned glans discoloration because it's very slippery and is absorbed by the skin rather quickly. I've just ordered a silicone-based lubricant to see whether that works better.
- What do you use to clean the latex parts? I'm hesitant to use soap because I don't want to damage them. The instruction manual says you should use "detergent" but I'm not sure what that means. In my country, detergent is the stuff you use to wash your dishes and it seems like a pretty bad idea to use it to clean something that envelops your glans.
- Does anyone have any experience with using wet wipes to clean the latex parts?

Safety
- Are there any warning signs that indicate that you might not be using the device correctly (e.g. either doing too little or too much)?
- What do you consider an appropriate break? I've seen people on this forum say anything from 5 to 30 minutes.
- I keep getting (semi-)erections when using the device. I'm worried that this might cause damage if I don't take it off immediately when that happens. I also suspect this might be why my glans doesn't completely enter the vacuum chamber or party slips out after a while. However, I will never get used to wearing the device (and will therefore keep getting erections) if I keep taking it off. Can I safely use the device while waiting for my erections to subside?

Combination with other therapies
- I ordered a VED (SomaCorrect) and expect it to arrive next week. Is there an optimal approach to combining these two therapies (e.g. traction before VED or vice versa)?
- How do you combine hyperthermia with traction? I haven't tried a rice sock / UHeat / handwarmer yet because I'm worried that I might not be able to control the temperature (i.e. keep it below 40°C).

Sorry for this barrage of questions and thanks in advance for your help!

I just wanted to say there are a lot of great questions here that I'd like to know the answers to as well. Based on my experience so far, it's not helping my penile torsion. I believe a VED may possibly have a higher chance of fixing it. And for hyperthermia, I believe you can use it before, during, and after traction, it depends on you.
MIA - nothing works after 5 months
supplements and pharmaceuticals I've tried:
cialis, pentox, magnesium chloride, dim, turmeric, hyaluronic acid, vitamin k2, paba, l-arginine, l-citrulline. either get surgery (and possible ed), get implant, or pray

Thanks, Lostandsad.

I ordered a VED and hope it'll arrive soon so I can work on the torsion. Thanks for the clarification on hyperthermia.

I'm afraid I've been overly enthusiastic with traction because I used it for 6 hours yesterday (I started using it last Tuesday) and my penis is now very tender and painful. I haven't been able to sleep because I'm very worried that I might have reinjured myself. Any advice on how to mitigate any potential adverse effects would be more than welcome :(

Algie,

I will answer your questions as best i can, although i too do wonder about some of the questions which you have asked:

Duration: Wear it for as long as you can without it becoming unfortable. For me, sometimes this is 2 hours, other times it is 4 hours. However, i rarely leave it on for more than 4 hours without a few hours rest. I don't think it will do you much harm by leaving it on for an excessive time although i suspect you will get little benefit for wearing for longer than a four hour period.

Tension: As above, if it feels too uncomfortable to wear then reduce the tension. Best to start low an work your way up. If its uncomfortable, not only will you risk hurting yourself but your compliance will be lower and you are less likely to wear it for a period of time for it to have an effect.

Direction: This is a question which i am still unsure about. I started wearing it pointing upwards, but i have convinced myself this made my bend change from left to Dorsal ( upwards ) - I can't see how this is possible and actually it is probably a better scenario for me but none the less i now either wear it pointing downwards or to the side.

Lubrication: i just use water based lube, but a very small amount. Too much and i slip ou within 30 minutes. I clean it often with warm water, no soap.

Saftey: If it hurts stop. If there is redness or soreness stop. If the pain is still there are 6 hours of application then take a day or twos break and then try again at a lower tension. In terms of breaks i tend to aim for 4 hours am ( 8am to 12pm ) and then 4 hours pm ( 3pm - 7pm ) giving me a solid 3 hour break.

VED: Ideally this should be used just after traction, although i don't get on with VED so i seldom use it.

Hope this all helps.

When you setting the pulling force with these two screws and let's say you set 2 visible marks on the 5 points scale of the rod.

Then if you put the PMP upwards and for example lay down on the bed, then you see 5 marks on the rod again - you lose the pulling force you set before.

So at what position of the rod you should set pulling force?

Could some experienced PMP user say anything about that?

Everything that Jiimmi85 said is spot on correct.  I am on month 10 of wearing this device and in the beginning I could only do an hour on the lightest tension. My glans also had to get used to it.  I had 2 small blisters that had to heal up before proceeding more.  Now I take a small 3 - 5 minute break every 2 hours for blood circulation.  I also wear it up and then down alternating in-between sessions.  Now it is like clockwork and doesn't bother me at all.  If you put on the device standing up then lie down you will have to readjust the tension more. It loosens up when you are lying flat or in a lazy boy chair.  I can suggest that I am currently using Astroglides Silicone Gel for the adhesive for the glans chamber and it works like a charm. Your penis will get used to wearing it just give it time and slowly work your way into it.

At what position of the rod I adjust the pulling force when lying down?

90 degrees to the body or I lay the rod on my stomach and then adjusting the tension?

Thank you

Thank you in advance.

Mikel7

When you are lying down you want to point it up towards your stomach.  Then very carefully twist the dials clockwise and adjust the tension a little past the first mark to give you just a little tug. Be careful as I have pinched my skin when turning those dials to increase the tension. You should be able to at least have it on for an hour the first week of wearing it.  Then with each additional week try to add on more time.

What about sitting? You are sitting, then Point the rod up towards your stomach and then set the pulling force?

Thanks!

Mikel7

When you are sitting you will get an entirely different/stronger pulling force just from the angle. You should still point it up.  I have made an elastic band about 1/4 wide that I sewed together.  I wear it around my waist and kind of tuck the top of the device under it so it doesn't swing down. This helps to keep it towards my stomach without wearing sweat pants or something else.

i have almost 1k hours with PMP and never used it with my penis pointing upwards
i have never seen any shifts in upward/downward curvature because of that

i normally use PMP while working, so, while i'm sitting. and it pointing down. or, when i'm standing and doing other stuff.

I've been using  the PMP for around 4 weeks now and here's my experience (also got a lot of tips off you tube)

It's best to use the supplied lubricant (very sticky) as that also works to help the 'seal' on the glans.

Apply a little (pea sized) of the lube on the head of your penis and then also the same amount to the top of the device - I spread this around and inside the latex part.

Squeeze the pump ball then attach to the end (ensure you have the release vale closed -note the left hand thread). push your glans up to the entry - firm but don't push - then SLOWLY release the ball (also pull your foreskin back if you have one) the glans should get sucked fully in - if not, you can detach the pump and re do it a little until your glans are fully in.
Then leave it for a minute or 2, then give a gentle tug before inserting it into the rod structure.

Start gentle - I wind the screws fully in and then slowly increase the tension over the first 10 minutes until the penis has a slight bounce - never pull it too tight.

I generally wear it pointing up (tucking it into my boxers and jeans) but occasionally point it down while I am reclining on the sofa. My specialist recommended 2-4 hours at a time (my tip - have a pee before you put on)
I use it most days with a day or two rest, so typically wear it on Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri& Sun) - I'm a gigging musician part time and most gigs are on a Saturday and rehearsals are Wednesday, hence my days off.

I also use VED but use that 10 mins in the morning and 10 minutes late evening just before bed. The PMP is usually on between 6pm - 10pm on the days mentioned.

It's early days but combined with the 2 weekly visits to the specialist for Shock wave therapy (I'm halfway through a course of 6 treatments) it's making a slight difference to my EQ and curve - I'd say from 30 degrees to about 22 degrees.

It is a lengthy process and my specialist recommends I use it for a minimum of 4 months - I may do it for longer if I see length gains - I've read reports that on "normal" people they can gain 1.5 - 2 inches over the course of a year - and also improvements in girth -  who doesn't want a bigger dick right?

I will update on this every couple of weeks with any (hopefully) improvements and / or gains.
