Hi everyone,

I was recently diagnosed with Peyronies Disease by an urologist in the UK.
Back in April this year I felt a nodule (no other symptoms) and immediately booked an appointment with the Urologist who told me it didn't look sinister but sent me for an ultrasound scan (flacid) which I had done two weeks ago.

On my second appointment (this week) the urologist informed that there was nothing showing on the ultrasound but on my examination he could feel the nodule. As I told him I have a small lateral curvature he concluded it was Peyronies Disease.

Having read quite a lot about Peyronies Disease beforehand I was hoping that I would be given the PAV cocktail and discuss traction therapy.

The discussion with the uro was very different.

He prescribed Taladafil and Vitamin E for three months, in his opinion this was the best way to accelerate de condition to move to the chronic phase.

When I asked about Pentox he told me that he did no longer recommend it and prescribed taladafil instead. He could prescribe Pentox if I insisted but he would not prescribe Pentox together with Talafadil and said that both substances did the same thing, which I don't think is the case.

He then told me not to do traction, specially in the acute phase as it could cause more injury. I showed him a study that suggest improvements in the acute phase and he said he could easily find studies that claimed the very opposite.

From what I read from published doctors (mostly Levine) PAV+traction should be the first line of defence.

Does any of you know of Urologists in the UK that follow these therapies and have experience with traction in acute phase?

Thank you in advance.

I can say that yes you need to find another Dr but I do not know of any in your area.  Gentle traction and VED could help you in many ways. Gentle traction could actually help you retain you penis size from shrinking up. If you use to strong of traction yes you could do more damage.  VED brings in more fresh oxygenated blood and helps with our erections.

Pentox can help some individuals and others not. I do believe that Cialis can benefit you in the long run. Hopefully there are other members here who could suggest another DR.

Fortunately, you don't need him to prescribe traction.  You can start that on your own.

There is controversy about Pentox.  As I understand it, the only study supporting pentox was discredited.

Anyone (especially a doctor) who says Pentox and oral ED drugs do the same thing is just looking for a quick way to dismiss your request or he is very ignorant (which I doubt).  I think he was counting on his patient being too ignorant to know that was a dumb statement.  Whether Pentox is effective is a legitimate question.  Suggesting Pentox and a PDE5 inhibitor do the same thing is just dumb.
