Is a Doppler ultrasound while erect dangerous?

Hi everyone,

I have a Doppler ultrasound scheduled in 2 weeks. I'll receive an injection and the test will be done while erect. I know that's a good thing to get accurate results but I also know that injections can cause microtrauma and therefore cause (or worsen) Peyronie's disease.

My question is: will a single injection (or 2 if I need another one to lose the erection) put me at risk of worsening my condition?

Thank you!

I believe that Peyronie's specialists do this as a standard. There is a risk of priapism, but if that happens they must address it before you leave the office.
MIA - nothing works after 5 months
supplements and pharmaceuticals I've tried:
cialis, pentox, magnesium chloride, dim, turmeric, hyaluronic acid, vitamin k2, paba, l-arginine, l-citrulline. either get surgery (and possible ed), get implant, or pray

Just like lostandsad said. You are good. Watch out for an erection lasting more than 4 hours and take sudafed with you if you want to be on the safe side.

Definitely don't sweat it.  I had mine done in April by Dr. Christine and it was nothing.  Hardly a pinch and the erection was just mostly a filled out semi.  They don't let you leave unless you are out of the pripasm risk.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your answers. I had the Doppler done today and it was one of the most stressful experience I've ever had.

The erection (far from rock solid, they used half the dose because I was afraid of priapism) is mostly gone now but my penis hurts. Feels like burning. Has anyone experienced this? Also, has anyone seen their erections decline after the exam (days or weeks after)?

Thanks again, this has definitely gotten me worried.

You are worrying way too much about this.  When I had this exact procedure done I had like a stinging sensation or a burning sensation for about a day and a 1/2.  It did go away and did not cause any further
damage.  You will recover - just stop worrying!
