I'm 65 years of age. This is my first post on any forum, so forgive me if it's a little confusing. I first noted the pain and curve earlier this year and tried to figure out what was happening. I didn't want to have sex and was in a lot of pain. I finally went to Dr. Google and it suggested Peyronies Disease. I went to my PCP and he referred me to a great UR. He confirmed my condition. Put me on Cialis and Pentox. He then sent me to the so called Peyronies Disease guru of Texas. He informed me the pain would subside over time and I should be able to continue a good sex life with my wife of 40 plus years. He also said my curvature was the better one to have (if I was going to have one) since it points up and not to the side. He was also nice enough, if I wanted, I could have my wife with me during the consultations, so we would both know what is happening and what to expect.
To me, sex is still uncomfortable, but manageable. Luckily my bride tries so hard to make me less uncomfortable. We are working through this together and making it work.
I found this forum through a good informational easy to read book. The title is "Overcoming Peyronei's" by Damien Xenakis. I learned a lot from his book and research. His website is www.overcomingpeyronies.com. I am so glad to have found his book and this forum. There are not any support groups to be found.
Sorry for such a long post, now it's time to start reading more facts and ideas from this forum. Thanks so much for allowing me to share.

Hello and welcome!

It was very nice to read your post. Your urologist wanting to bring your wife on board is a very good thing. A lot of men close in on themselves and that is the last thing you want to do with this disease. Being on those medications, especially Cialis helps a lot to give you firmer erections. You should also check out the links on the second post which will contain plenty of information, and also Dr. Trost's website: https://malefertilityandpeyroniesclinic.com/peyronies/treatments/

he has a lot of precious information there and guidance on how to treat this.

Please stick around with us.

Welcome Patiodaddyoiam to the forum. It sounds like you have a good knowledge base regarding peyronies and have your emotions in check. Having your wife at your side is a big help!  Many of us here also share in that. I have found that heat therapy has helped me a lot with pain and recovery.  Just be sure to research it here before you would start it. Don't give up hope as you will make it through this.   My best Mikel7 :)

Did not mean to come across as a shill. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have never been on a forum, and I was only trying to explain how I found this forum and thought the book was very helpful (for me anyway) I will try to avoid doing any thing that sounds promotional in any way in the future. Thank you for the link to do the signature and for the survival guide.

Yes, when my Ur asked if I wanting to bring my wife in for consultation, it really opened our eyes. It took me a while to even share the problem with her. I was embarrassed and was ignoring her. This caused more issues, since I quit showing affection to her. After I explained to her what was happening, she now just wants to be supportive and work with me. Thank you for the link.

That's great that your wife is so supportive. And I apologize if I came across rude or anything, lately there's been some trolls on this forum so I'm not sure who's genuine or whatnot. Hopefully you stick around and this site helps you on your journey to get better!
