Hi all,

I'm a 36 years old male with Peyronie's, and not gonna lie, going through a rough time here. Lately I've been having feelings of gender dysphoria, almost like a disgust of my sexual organs and thinking life would be easier and I'd be happier as a woman. I don't know if it's the distress caused by the disease, but it sure is distressing. Anyone else here has had similar experiences ?

I'd really appreciate help...

First symptoms Jan 2021: pain and slight curve to the left below glans. Since then, fibrosis took over half the shaft. Lost 3.5cm in length and some girth
Tried iontophoresis, pentox + supplements (VED + traction irregularly)
Considering implant

Right in your post you identified as "I am a ... male"

My view is that I recommend counseling by someone interested in helping you and not profiting off of long-term counseling.

Remember, there are many known effective helps and even total fixes to a non-functional penis. Artificially constructed female genitalia are going to be far less functional than your current penis even if you get no treatment.

If you are still attracted to females then you would simply be posing as a lesbian.

If you are in fact attracted to males then this has nothing to do with Peyronies Disease and is a topic for some other forum.

I would agree with Hawk and say that you should seek out some counsel.  You are probably letting your mind take you down the road of this is never going to change and it is going to get worse. There are things that you can do as I suppose you have read the survival guide?  Change your thinking and attitude and make a conscientious effort and believe that things are going to get better. Hope is a wonderful thing for your heart. You really want to change your sex and receive hormone shots and cut off your penis??

I am going to tell you I can relate entirely to this post.

I don't think it is accurate to say we have gender dysphoria as much as more like a genitalia dysphoria.  I actually sometimes look at trans men and think about how much easier it would be if I had something more along the lines of their equipment.  Or that of a female.

It is hard to see your own body part after it has changed so much and broken down.  It is almost like a part of your identity is being whittled away.  I know people say "you are not defined by your penis", and certainly that is very true.  But it is hard to suffer through this without realizing how much you have invested in that area.  I feel less than I was.

Yes, I would suggest counseling.  It is something I probably should seek out too.  Often we ignore this part of Peyronie's.

Well, I'm sorry, but I can't relate. First, I think the suggestion is ridiculous. I used to joke and say that, but it makes no sense if you think artificially constructed tissue to simulate female genitalia would somehow be more functional or be a more normal, healthy specimen of genitalia than what you have.  If you think your penis is that far gone, then get an implant, keep every cell of your natural penis, and function like a healthy 20-year-old male.

You cannot change your sexual attraction and start picking up straight guys because your penis is bent. So the entire idea makes no sense.

Hey Hawk!  Can totally understand your point.  But dysphoria is not really about sexual orientation as much as it is about not liking your penis because it failed you.  It's psychological, and a lot of guys go through it.  I have seen this mentioned more than once on the board, and I am not suggesting the idea is practical... it's not.  But in the same breath I understand the frustration.

Couldn't of been said any clearer or better!

BrettC,

We are ending this topic.  We are not here to discuss gender transition or argue against obvious misinformation.  Men do not want to change genders because their penis has a deformity or because they have Erectile Dysfunction.  That makes them want to FIX THEIR PENIS.  There are clear options for that.  If someone wished they could change their gender and surgically create artificial female genitals that has NOTHING to do with Peyronies Disease or ED.

If someone prefers to cut off their penis and construct artificial female genitals then we can't help
If they want to saturate their body with female hormones and kill their testosterone while keeping their penis, then we can't help.
It is time for them to look for counselors or other forums.

All I am offering here is that I can relate to the thoughts that Peyronie's has made it where your penis feels useless.  I never advocated taking female hormones or anything like that.  I think you guys are taking this topic off what it is really about which is the dysphoria you feel from either Peyronie's or ED.  If someone is truly transsexual then they would not be on this board.

Then it is you who misspoke Brett. This topic was by a man who had GENDER DYSPHORIA and was considering that life might be happier if he transitioned to a woman.  AND, you are wrong again because multiple members who identify as transgender have posted on the form.

You apparently did not understand the post.

This topic will be deleted.
